so YAY! This ol' piece was shared. Totally forgot about it... again. Wtf you ask? I’m anthropomorphizing colony collapse disorder.. duh.. and relating it to US politics feels more alive than ever.. anyway speaking of process.. the face and the figure’s left arm are mine.. the body is not because welll the reason this was reposted was part of the point. Mourning the loss of all sorts o’ things. Anyway…. I used to try and make it obvious.. the assemblage… I would paint (this is chalk pastel) the hell out of each bit in different ways ..light sources etc.. I wanted you to know that head and arm and armor were awkward and that this was a dream narrative I put together… sharing is caring. #Repost @thenaturalphallus with @get_repost

Fact: The average adult male foreskin is comprised of around 15 square inches of tissue. That’s an area greater than the face of an iphone 5. Circumcision often removes 50% of total penile tissue. ———————————————————

If everyone else has this done to their child, shouldn’t I?
Not only is this not true, as the vast majority of the world’s men are genitally intact, but it is no longer true for the US. Circumcision peaked at about 90% in the 1970s to approximately 55% today. Even if everyone did circumcise their child, that would not be a valid reason to do it. In fact, it directly conflicts with the American ideals of rugged individualism and personal autonomy.

Bodily Autonomy for All
Consider the stigma associated with tattooing a baby...Most people are appalled by this. A parent could likely be accused of child abuse for doing such a thing and a tattoo parlor would kick them out immediately for even requesting it. Some people are even opposed to piercing a baby’s ears at such a young age. Both of these are examples of permanent physical alterations of a child who does not have any say in the matter. We almost universally recognize them as cruel and harmful. So why is it that we consider male infant circumcision any different? ———————————————————
