The small glade is perfect. For half an hour we wandered through the forest before we settle on the soft, moss-covered and leaf-covered ground and begin to meditate. Only the sounds of the trees around us can be heard: the rustling of the leaves in the wind, the creaking of the branches. But we not only listen to the forest, but we also smell it and we taste it. At Forest Bathing, it's about it, explains our guide Felicia, consciously and with all senses into the nature immerse.
Forest bathing or Shinrin Yoku is a trend that originated in Japan. As part of our blogger trip to Skåne in Sweden, we were able to experience such a forest bath first hand - and get to know nature from a completely new perspective under the guidance of Felicia Eckersten.
Felicia is an avid outdoor sportswoman who loves kite surfing and has been closely associated with nature since early childhood. For her passion, she has even given up her secure job as a landscape engineer and now wants with her company Force of Nature to bring people closer to nature - including with their Forest Bathing.
Our Forest Bath begins with a short hike through the Söderåsen National Park in southern Sweden. On the way, Felicia explains to us what is important in the forest bathing: rest, switch off from stressful everyday life, simply indulge in nature. As we walk, we touch leaves, smell them and taste them. Of course, the mobile phone should be switched off at a forest bath - that's something she explicitly points out in the first few minutes.

Together we were then guided up in the woods for mindfulness in nature, and a “bathe in the woods”, with Felicia from Force of Nature. We stopped in the midst of a slope and, in silence, brought awareness to our surroundings. Picking up wood sorrels (Oxalis acetosella) , looking, sensing, listening, smelling and tasting, bringing all of our senses to life again. Further along, laying down under the crowns of the trees on the soft forest ground, closing our eyes and listening to Felicia’s words. We continued up to a viewpoint over the sea. SKOGSBAD, FOREST BATHING eller SHINRIN-YOKU på Japanska. Shinrin-Yoku är en kombination av mycket långsam vandring på mjuka stigar i park eller skog, med guidade förslag och aktiviteter som kan öppna våra sinnen för att uppleva naturen på ett nytt vis. När vi ”skogsbadar” tillbringar vi alltså en tid i skogen på ett särskilt närvarande sätt, med våra sinnen i en fördjupande kontakt med den omgivande miljön.
Shinrin-Yoku (森林浴) är en japansk term som betyder att ”ta in skogsatmosfären med alla sinnen” eller bokstavligen att ”skogsbada”. Den har fått sin utveckling i USA genom ”Nature and Forest Therapy” som här i Sverige kallas Natur och Skogsterapi eller bara Skogsterapi.🌳 ENGELSKA
Shinrin-Yoku is a combination of very slow walking on soft trails in the park or forest, with guided suggestions and activities that can open our minds to experience nature in a new way. When we "forest bathe" we spend time in the forest in a special way, with our minds in deep contact with the surrounding environment.
Shinrin-Yoku (森林 浴) is a Japanese term meaning "to enter the forest atmosphere with all the senses" or literally to "forest swim". It has developed its development in the United States through Nature and Forest Therapy, which here in Sweden is called Nature and Forestry therapy or Forestry therapy.
