Mixed Berry Pudding! Not the “Jello” kind of pudding, but the British kind of pudding. A luscious dessert consisting of sweet mixed berries baked beneath a billowing vanilla cake blanket, topped with the crunch of flaked almonds. Served toasty warm with dollops of thick & tangy Greek yogurt or lashings of sweet cream. You’re welcome!

Road-testing both this weekend with unashamedly lazy mornings pencilled & easing myself into Saturday without the interruptions of the working week. Time to potter with pans & company at the kitchen bench. A bulging bag of leeks, collectively the girth of an oak tree need thought as to their fate. The myriad of squashes from earlier gatherings will make headlines across the weekend table, most likely coupled with sourdough toasts & chalk white goats cheese. Mint & coriander are best of buddies here, a slosh of coconut cream & crimson dots of chilli flakes. The fire-pit is a promise at the end of any day that finds dry skies overhead, chairs drawn close & woodsmoke still clinging to hair when we lay our heads to sleep. Hours that ebb & flow with much the same haste as a tortoise are some of my favourite

So let us talk about @franks.eatery and their mind blowing pumpkin gnocchi, shall we? Potato gnocchis stole my heart about 2 years ago where I tasted some mind numbing fare in the most unassuming eatery in Rome. And this reminded me of that experience. With some roasted pumpkin, spinach, crumbled feta and that wonderful sauce - this was such a perfect meal. I am a big pasta lover but also quite fussy so when I love something I hold on to it. This is one such memory. Added bonus: they are an ethical, family run cafe with such a lovely setting in Frankton very close to the airport and so a fantastic way to bid adieu to Queenstown. The service is lovely and as good as the views to the mountains. Highly highly recommend ❤️

O espaço tem cozinha aberta, azulejos portugueses decorando as paredes e um empório com vinhos, embutidos e doces diretamente da terrinha. Para entrada, a pedida é o trio de embutidos (r$ 34.90), com salame espanhol com capa de pimenta do reino, pastrami e presunto de parma. Como principal adorei a escolha dos camarões à milanesa servidos com arroz cremoso de queijo Serra da Estrela (r$ 59.90). Questo venerdì, niente bacaro con vini e cicheti. Dopo tanto tempo sono riuscita ad organizzare una cena a casa, ritagliandomi il mattino per stare ai fornelli.
Mi sento rinata, più rilassata e pronta a strappare il prosecco (bacaro o non bacaro, il vino non manca mai).
Per la cena di questa sera, ho preparato due piatti collaudati e sperimentato due ricette nuove, stile U.S.A. Curioso? Forse ci scappa qualche Story....
🇬🇧 This Friday I won't go out drinking some wine with friends, finally I organized a dinner chez moi, after a long time being to busy. I'm so happy I spent all the morning cooking something new!
