This hefty salad really hit the spot. It's being eaten out of a giant serving bowl, for one. 🙌 Power greens, 4 hardboiled eggs underneath, turkey, bacon, peppers + carrots, and a best-ever balsamic vinaigrette I made that I will never be able to replicate again because I failed to write the measurements down😭

Here are 2 unfiltered pictures of my cute baby and me. They show the subtle differences in my body from 2 months (from April to June) of making a better effort to sleep, exercise responsibly, and above all, eat enough nourishing food.

It goes without saying that the whole "Get-Your-Pre-Baby-Body-Back" debate is....intense😳 However, I think there is room for balance in this conversation. I totally understand wanting to fit into your clothes again, and not wanting to have to go buy a new wardrobe. Or wanting your core to feel strong again, and your diastasis to improve. What I don't understand is why we all want to pretend like we didn't even have a baby. Why we won't just give ourselves (and others, who may make dumb comments🙄) GRACE while we transition from pregnancy. ⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Babies will leave their mark, one way or another. If it's not stretch marks, it's droopy skin, of it's not droopy skin, it's wider hips, if it's not wider hips, it's less nutrient stores, like you ending up with low iron from making blood during pregnancy. Or, you've developed diastasis recti.
But perhaps the most noticeable mark is the one they leave on your heart. You're a more patient person most days, and not nearly as self- absorbed as you once were. And you know your baby better than anyone else ever could, because you carried them in your belly for 9 months and in your arms thereafter. And they are sweet, and cute, and won't sleep sometimes, but are 110% worth it ALL. ( I for one am looking forward to more babies.) 😉

For me, I absolutely must say that an integral part of my recovery from childbirth and pregnancy has been T-Tapp. It is gentle, easy on the adrenals, restorative to the core + pelvic floor, and doesn't require leaving the house or any equipment. This is what works for me. I am very thankful and happy to know that it is possible to feel good, strong and energetic (most days😜) at 8.5 months out. ❤️

This is a great visual analogy on how Fascia maintains the structure, function and stability in our bodies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tent poles= your bones
Tent fabric= skin & muscle
Tent wire= your Fascia
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Without the tension of the tent wires, even with the "poles" (in this analogy, the bones) the "tent" will fall over or suffer decline in alignment. The fascia can adhere to itself when not properly mobilized + hydrated daily via movement, leading to gradual decline of the tissues in the area and regional stiffness such as frozen shoulder, limited range of motion, injury or strains, etc. 
Our bodies are a tensegrity structure! It pays to focus on ALL the layers (muscle, bones, and fascia) of our bodies' intricate design.

First things first... we must start out with raising our standards.
That means that we
turn our “shoulds” into “musts”. .
Our shoulds: 
Things we do when it’s convenient, when it’s easy, when it goes our way. 
But when things are a MUST: (Not a must to OTHER PEOPLE but to ourselves)
We find a way... no matter what the circumstances. 
The difference in people that succeed and the ones that don’t, are the ones that find their MUSTS. .
TRUTH IS: Our bodies are a reflection of our standards... not our desires. 
Most all people have a DESIRE for more ENERGY- better HEALTH and VITALITY! 
But we don’t get our DESIRES, we get our “MUSTS” and our musts show up in our daily rituals! .
I’m not telling you what your standards “should” be(you have enough of that from the world).
See, YOU set a standard of living a long time ago OR you have LOST a standard of living.

Our standards are ours and no one and nothing can MAKE us do them. 
So the question I ask myself and you my friends... .

Here’s a simple fact:
Stress makes your body do some strange things…and one of the strangest is that it makes you reach for food when you might be craving something else. .

What happens when the hustle of the day turns into the stress of the night? It might make you feel like a bag of chips and large pizza  is the only way out (whether you’re hungry or not). .

But instead of going for the quick fix of food, I found a much better way...
.
I call it a “transition ritual.” Something that helps you shift from the DOing of the day to the BEing of the night.
.
It could be things like meditation, journaling, or reading. Maybe an evening walk, listening to music, taking a bath, or practicing yoga. Whatever helps YOU bring that zen-like peace to the moment. .
.
Create a ritual that is as as easy to rely on as a piece of cake. Practice it with consistency. And before too long, your body will crave your evening “me” time over late night snacks!

I remember the YEARSSSS I looked forward to that Saturday night "cheat meal". I literally anticipated it and counted down ALL week. 
I found myself planning my entire weekend around it! "Two more days, one more day... then I can "let it all go"!!! Ahhhhhh!! 🎉 
Talk about Food obsession/ Diet HELL! 🔥 
I WANTED it to be a LIFESTYLE- but the cycle turned into the obsession of LIFE!
Sadly, my "cheat meal" turned into a "cheat day", the day into the weekend and eventually an inability to STOP "cheating". (Aka: Binging) 😫
Leaving me empty with shame, guilt,failure, disgust. 
And that would push me into yet ANOTHER diet! 🤷🏻‍♀️😑
Restricting yummy foods... it's just what all "fit people" seemed to do. 
RIGHT!?! 💪🏼 Why do we put rules and restriction on ourselves that eventually calls us to the desire to "cheat"? 🤓🧐🤨
"Cheating", no matter the context does NOT hold integrity, self love or respect. .
It's an Amazing psychological phenomenon that happens when we take away all restriction:: Now that I CAN HAVE ANYTHING. 
Then and ONLY then can we listen to the body saying "I actually don't WANT it." Freedom IS NOT fitting into social status of what "healthy/fit" looks like. 
Freedom is being out of the mental/ spiritual/ physical bondage that keeps us in a cycle of loathing life as well as ourselves from the inside out! 
Isn't there something whispering inside of you... Darling, you were MADE FOR MORE. 
We must CHOOSE to Listen to THAT voice! ✨💕Krystal

Today, as I head to day two of back to work and being it’s  my Friday, there are a few things I’ve realized on my glorious stay-cation.

We say this a lot, as an excuse for failing to live up to our own standards, especially in the area of nutrition and exercise. If we decide to eat less sugar and then eat a donut, then we say the whole day is "done for." (WHY?) If we aren't doing as much exercise as *insert random person on the internet* does, then we are failing and might as well forget about going for that walk to check the mailbox, because that's just.... too little. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Instead of being all-or-nothing, let's be all or SOMETHING, and focus on the next good choice.💪

I know, I know, green juice is the unofficial beverage of choice of the average snobby Instagram coaches' feed 😬😅BUT.....I've been inspired recently to up the nutrients I'm taking in while simultaneously using up what's left in the fridge. This was today's concoction. I had a stalk of celery I hadn't used and threw in a green apple I found getting old in a bottom drawer. I also added a lemon because, why not? I like drinking this first thing in the morning while my daughter plays in her highchair and I clean up the kitchen. 😊

I am very, VERY picky about what I choose to promote and/or get certified in. The reason I became a T-Tapp exercise trainer as opposed to aligning underneath another banner is simple. It actually delivers. And on a much deeper level than just an aesthetic one, though you'll start to see physical differences in as little as 10 minutes per day.

You can exercise using traditional methods, or you can REALLY exercise, working the lymphatic system and the fascia and all the muscle fibers at once. T-Tapp interacts with your bodies’ own unique physiology in a way that other exercise methods just can’t touch. And believe me when I say, I’ve done them all (and that, my friends, is why I've had to work through muscle imbalances) *ducks for cover*😂

I’ve seen it change people in dramatic ways, including myself. I am so thankful to be able to teach this method and help others to feel strong, energetic, and functioning at an optimal level. A healer is not someone that heals you. 
A healer is someone that triggers within you, your OWN ability to heal yourself. .
Helping people heal their disordered relationship with food and body is so much more than just that. .
Once we start to tap into the empowerment of being able to walk above a once hopeless situation, we start to see that we have within us, the very strength we need to overcome so many other things that keep us stuck as well. .
When it comes to food and body, the solution isn’t just stopping the things we do that sabotage us. It isn’t just about doing what we know to do.
But it’s about getting to the root of WHY we do WHAT we do. 
When we become aware of this- we can reframe, re-pattern and begin to change the entire path of where we are heading. .
Sometimes, in order to get someplace we’ve never been…we must do something we’ve never done. Maybe…it’s time to re-think “dieting” and start healing.
. 
Why? Because YOU, just like I was, are MADE FOR MORE than staying in the same vicious cycle any longer. .

All you really need is 30 good minutes of movement each day.  this doesn't even have to be all at once! I try to get up every couple of hours and walk chance, get outside, or do a quick youtube session.  One of my favorites is @peaceloveandfitness because her workouts are short and she goes through 1 round, then gives you the option to do 3 more.  These can be split up throughout the day. Every little bit truly counts!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ok, so kiwi 🥝 isn’t at the top of the “low carb” fruit list. But I have a sweet tooth 😁and a couple slices of this juicy green treat rather than a floury-processed sugar filled cookie is a much smarter choice and it’s summer and hot AF 🔥 so deal. I’m having a kiwi dammit! 🥝🥝🥝🥝🥝
As a food coach, a theripist literally, I work in the present and reality. So my reality is that I used to eat an oatmeal cookie and frozen yogurt 🍦 almost every night. Like I said before, I have a sweet craving that has translated into I needed to find a better vitamin-mineral balance in my body. 🍓 ⚖️ 🍪 Recently I have been dabbling in a #keto based routine. So let’s just say I haven’t had a cookie in over a month. 🙃But I’m still searching for sugar and I’m discovering that there is a reason I teach my clients not to “diet.” So do I sound like a total hypocrite trying keto? Nah, I’m doing research and I want to know what I’m talking about when I make a pro/con list about diets. 🧐
PRO: I feel less bloated.
CON: I’m not sure I really get the specifics of Keto. There’s conflicting info and it’s confusing.
PRO: I’m a pro so I know that diets don’t work, but this was a plan to kick me into being more aware of my nutrition intake.

The lesson in all this? 
If I freak out that eating a kiwi is going to halt my ketosis journey than I am adding more stress and cortisol to my “diet” and the lesser of these two evils is being happy with my kiwi 🥝 😋 BAMM! 💥

☝🏽So much truth! I have been a part of a lot of discussions both with clients and in my personal life about how freeing it feels to stop pretending. Pretending someone didn’t hurt me, pretending that I’m okay with a situation just because I was okay with it at one time. Pretending that I dont need to feel appreciated or pretending that I don’t want something just because I’m afraid i might not get it. Pick the people who are down for you-and be down for them right back. Water is important! You know this. I know it too. But equally important are the minerals that help your body and your tissues actually ABSORB the hydration it needs! Adding a pinch of sea salt to your water can help with this, or using drops of mineral concentrate. The latter is QUITE strong, so you can add a few drops to an empty gelatin capsule if you can't handle the taste just yet.😉

I used to not let myself do all the fun things I wanted to (especially if it involved wearing anything less than a snowsuit) or enjoy my life fully until I reached a certain weight. Funny thing is, I didn't reach a more ideal weight until I began to let myself enjoy life regardless of my size, even if it was scary as hell sometimes!

On our way back with fresh caught shrimp. Caught today! NO DIP NO EVERFRESH. Wild Caught Atlantic Shrimp. South Carolina shrimpers have had a rough time this season. The extended cold temperatures and snow in the area brought the water temperature down to the point that shrimp started to die. What was left they hoped for the best would last eggs and the start of shrimp season would be plentiful. Unfortunately, the season was delayed by 2 months which prevented the catch of larger, more profitable, shrimp. So with the limited numbers and small size be thankful you get shrimp at all. Hoping for a better season this Fall.

As simple as it seems, having the willies for onion rings and being back to focusing on eating clean, it was time to use what I’ve learned.  First attempt at #paleo beerless beer batter onion rings was a huge success.  Crispy and soul satisfying. Sided with a tarragon avocado dipping sauce. swipe left ⬅️

Paleo Beerless Beer Batter **************************
I cup of Otto’s cassava flour 
I organic egg 
3/4 teaspoon baking powder 
1 and 1/4 cup seltzer 
1 tablespoon garlic powder 
1/4 teaspoon cayenne 
1/4 teaspoon salt 
1/4 pepper 
Place all dry ingredients in bowl. 
Whisk in egg and seltzer until batter is formed. 
Dip onion rings in batter and fry in avocado oil until both sides are golden brown.  Approximately 4 minuets each side.

Avocado Dipping Sauce **********************
1 ripe avocado pitted, scooped and placed in a bowl - if using an immersion blender. If not place in a blender
1 tablespoon avocado oil 
1 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar 
Juice of two limes 
1/2 teaspoon tarragon 
Pinch of salt and pepper. 
Place all ingredients in a bowl and blend.

I have to start my review with one word only and that is YUMM 🤤 I was skeptical in trying Turkish food cuz honestly, we Pakis aren't really fan of non spicy food but ohh boyy this platter was TASTY, YUMMILICIOUS, FULFILLING, and soooooooo good!! 🤗😍 All the kebabs had a distinctive taste!! The spices added to each were limited, not really bold but flavorful and pleasing to the sense of taste!! 👅Thanks to these grilled chillies, tomatoes, and red chutney - absolutely added the twist!! 🍅🌶️ .

I have to start my review with one word only and that is YUMM 🤤 I was skeptical in trying Turkish food cuz honestly, we Pakis aren't really fan of non spicy food but ohh boyy this platter was TASTY, YUMMILICIOUS, FULFILLING, and soooooooo good!! 🤗😍 All the kebabs had a distinctive taste!! The spices added to each were limited, not really bold but flavorful and pleasing to the sense of taste!! 👅Thanks to these grilled chillies, tomatoes, and red chutney - absolutely added the twist!! 🍅🌶️ . . . One thing I never regret is the time I spend investing in my relationships. Whether it be time with my daughter and husband, co-workers I appreciate, or amazing friends-I can honestly say that making time and effort for the people that make effort with me, is one of my top priorities and always leaves me feeling like my cup is full.
