Flicking through some old photos & found this one from back in 2014 at the March Against Monsanto. I am really passionate about awakening my kids to the reality of our food system so they are not vulnerably sucked into the vortex of corporation backed trickery. It's mind blowing what they take in. Sometimes I overlook what an influence we can have on their perception of the world, then they come out with some really cluey views that gives me hope for them.

The fresh new printed copy December issue of Institute of Food Science and Technology magazine is out! Finding yourself on page 11 is another reason to read this issue all about #food packaging and #innovations in #plastic packaging.
In this year's autumn budget, a new tax was introduced on manufacture and import of plastic packaging containing less than 30% recycled plastic. Following this announcement, the food sector takes action to reduce plastic and being more sustainable to minimise waste.
The December issue highlights keys factors of this issue with articles demonstrating innovative ways to introduce bioplastics to help the environment.
This is a wake up call for all of us, not just the government, in our own actions to reduce pollution and plastic wastes.

The Global Nutrition Report for 2018 has landed this week! It reveals that the global burden of malnutrition is unacceptably high but it also highlights that if we act now it is not too late to end malnutrition in all its forms. In fact, we have an unprecedented opportunity to do so. Some key findings include: ⚡️Stunting in children under five years of age is declining at a global level but numbers in Africa are increasing, and there are significant disparities in progress at the subnational level. ⚡️At global level, progress in addressing underweight and anaemia among women has been extremely slow while overweight and obesity among adults is getting worse, with higher rates of obesity among women than men. ⚡️Several countries are on course to meet at least one of the globally adopted nutrition targets set for 2025, but most are off-track and none are making progress on the full suite of targets. ⚡️Different forms of malnutrition continue to compound one another – with new analysis further confirming this reality. ⚡️Crises around the world are increasingly protracted and significantly hamper tackling all forms of malnutrition.
