Here is a little mix I made last night with what was left in the crisper. Asparagus, pre cooked corn cut off cob, tomatoes, red onion, peas & pre cooked spuds (skin on). Cooked in a pan with fresh herbs & olive oil until coloured. I prefer my veg still crispy 😉 Serve with any lean protein/fish & any left over can go into a wholemeal pasta or wholemeal rice with lean protein for tonight's dinner 👍 or it can go on a salad in a quiche or even go on a pizza with wholemeal Lebanese bread as base. Healthy pizza yum! 🍕 #quickeats#foodprep#freshisbest#nutrishious & #delicious#eatwellbewell#eattherainbow#foodisfuel @transitionalhealthandfitness #centralcoast#personaltrainer & #chef 🍽💛
Y’all know I’ve been absolutely loving my @hellofreshau deliveries. 🤪 I’m delving into Spring [today’s erratic weather aside] with healthy, fresh meals, like tofu and chilli pumpkin salad on Monday.. followed by yesterday’s dish of choice; also THE best meal I’ve ever had with #hellofreshau : Mexican chickpea and roasted cauliflower tacos! 🙏🏻 To. Die. For. My girl @themelbournelook happened to choose the exact same meal for her dinner last night and even added her own vegan aioli, the star! 🤣🤗
From a person who was never fussed about dinner, the fact that it now makes me excited is kind of revolutionary. 😎 Can’t wait to time dinner prep with sunset on the balcony, when it’s regularly warm beyond 8pm! 🥗 So many of my friends are signing onto and genuinely loving this service, so if you’re considering it, I’d totally make use of my 40% off code [“KENZI40”]! 🌸 I won’t say it’s the trick to making cooking fun again because before now, it never was fun. It was stressful and messy and an opportunity for my true lack of common sense to shine. Nawt goals. So I’ll say this instead: make cooking fun FOR THE FIRST TIME with @hellofreshau. 🤣 P.S. this is also one of my secrets for getting to bed by 8.30-9.30, which is a recent goal of mine! 🙏🏻 Need I say anything more, but.. #smashit ?
Healthy fish tacos 🌮
All you’ll need:
🐟Fresh fish (I used flathead) and coated them with a spicy herb blend
🍃 Cos lettuce leaves as the “taco”
🥕 Coleslaw made from grated carrot, red cabbage and zucchini with a mustard dressing
🥑 Guac and lemon to serve
Enaknya nge #foodprep tuh tiap hari ga harus kepasar.. buka kulkas brasa nemu harta karun tinggal mikir mau masak apa..apalagi klo udah musim ujan gini pengen makan apa tinggal "srenggg" aja deh.. abaikan jam yg udah rusak yes 🙈
Today is a busy, busy day so it's essential that I prep my food. -
Starting from last night, I made chocolate overnight oats 😍, topped with blueberries this morning.
Apple and a cereal bar for a snack (sorry - not homemade!). Honey roasted salmon with homemade potato salad and a green salad.
Bolognese in the slow pot this morning, waiting for me to get home and have a quick dinner before heading back out again later. -
Knowing that all my meals are prepped today means that I won't be snacking on an quick foods. -
Have a good day everyone. 🐫
The BIG preps are back!! 💁🏼♀️ Have been off my game lately but nice to be starting the week with a full fridge and feeling motivated again - Spent the morning prepping all of this ⬇️⠀
◾Carbohydrates - Did up mostly lower carb veggies + fruit. Have raspberries & blackberries for fruit. Peppers, onion and zucchini done on BBQ. Yellow beans were steamed then made into bean salad and everything else kept raw - Romaine, celery, cucumber, radishes, snap peas.⠀
◾Protein - Homemade chicken burgers, BBQ chicken breast, grilled turkey scallopini + lamb chops with fresh rosemary and mint.⠀
◾Fats + Snacks - Always the best part 😉 Made no bake chocolate and PB rice crisp squares with protein powder added, chocolate coconut butter cups, then have cashews and @vega_team snack bars!
“I grocery shop and cook on Mondays & Thursdays.” If you know me well, you know those are the days.... Welp! It’s 7:30pm Tuesday and I’m in the kitchen. I couldn’t get to the store during my scheduled time because I’ve been keeping our baby out of the smokey air so decided to go last night after he was asleep. I got to the store and thankfully before I began my shopping realized my guy grabbed cash from our grocery stash over the weekend and we didn’t replenish it meaning, I didn’t shop. My plan was to go shopping first thing in the morning ..... then there was smoke! It was 4pm before I felt like it was breathable enough to bring Christian to the store with me. We knocked out the shopping trip, delivered a fresh meal to a brand new Momma in the neighborhood and got home to unload groceries, feed him, do the bedtime routine and get him down for bed so that I can clean out the fridge, take out the trash, get the dishwasher started and cook! WHEW! The bulk items are cooked (I have it down to a system that takes no more than an hour) I still have to put the food in containers but this girl had to eat!!!!! What’s the message in my play by play food prep shenanigans? I don't know? I had an insane amount of things to get done but to our family having some food in our fridge is a non-negotiable and I made it happen. Oh and my fellow mommas- I feel you..... • Want to learn more about how to simply food prep? Comment or PM me about FFCC•
The saying “blind as a bat” doesn’t make sense because they AREN’T BLIND, Bats actually see quite well.
Napoleon wasn’t short. He was utterly of average height. (He had an interesting habit of surrounding himself with tall staff members though.)
The color red doesn’t make bulls angry. They charge at the red flag because of the movement, not the color. Wave a blue flag and they’re just as likely to attack.
How do these myths get perpetuated? Faulty assumptions, misinterpretations. Eventually they’re just repeated enough that they sound right.
Same thing happens with nutrition. Wrong information is repeated enough that when you hear the actual truth it doesn’t sound right. Here’re a few important examples:
Myth: To lose weight there are certain foods you can’t eat. Carbs. Fats. Sugar.
Truth: There’s room for all foods in a fat loss diet. Bottom line is take in fewer calories than you burn in order to lose fat.
Myth: If you eat “clean” you can eat as much as you want.
Truth: Calories always count. (And besides what’s the definition of “clean?”)
Myth: Eating at night makes you fat.
Truth: A calorie is always a calorie. A calorie at 8AM is exactly the same as a calorie at 8PM
I know that these truths might feel “off” because you’ve heard the opposite for so long. This stuff has you focusing on the wrong things. Focus on total calorie intake. Consistently eat in a calorie deficit & over time & you’ll lose weight. And *that* is not a myth:) .
Would you eat this⁉️
We marinated our chicken breast for 16 hours in homemade teriyaki before pan frying it to perfection allowing the brown sugar to caramelize the surface🤤
