Repost from @enviadoparaamar using @RepostRegramApp - Had a blast getting to help out at my home church’s food pantry today here @christ_central_church ! It breaks my heart to not be able to serve in Mexico this summer but we are sent to love and serve wherever we are at. I have struggled with this because my heart is in Mexico and that is where I feel called to still. But what I have learned through this is that we shouldn’t get so caught up in the future and where we want to be that we miss the opportunities and blessings of where we are. So this is my short testimony and encouragement to you to look for the opportunities and blessings that lie in front of you and save the future ones for the future! - @yosoy_coke

JACKSON: This 76-year-old man named Gary Moliver from the Westlake Golf and Country Club retirement community in Jackson New Jersey is doing something amazing.
Moliver fixes his neighbor's garage doors but doesn't take the check for himself rather donates every check to the Jackson Food Pantry!
Moliver tells News12NJ “I just had the idea to do the garage springs so that way I could give something to the food pantry, with really what I consider minimum effort on my part, and make a contribution". Since 2009 Moliver has fixed about 190 springs costing the customer $50 a spring instead of the normal $500 price.
Over the years that has added up to $12,400 donated to the pantry.
We’re always searching for new ways to improve our guest shopping experience. Thanks to a generous grant from The DuPage Foundation, we’ve purchased shopping carts and new shelving for our school-based pantry in Willowbrook. Our pantry shelf space is doubled and we’re grateful! Our Executive Director, Stan Cook, received the grant award from Deborah du Vair, DuPage Grant Committee and Del Koch, DuPage Foundation Trustee. #DFSpringGrants

A special thank you to the volunteers who sorted food in our pantry and who collected food donations at local grocery stores!

Part of what I do to #serve the @ardreamcenter is rallying around the leaders at all our locations throughout Arkansas. This is Brenda & Jessie from Heber Springs! Heber Springs is a rural community with a HUGE heart! They tirelessly serve their community with Food for Good Summer meals, a Food pantry for families, Adopt-A-Blocks, community gardens and so much more. I'm so blessed to get to be on their team to help advance our mission : Every Arkansan Chasing Their God-given Dream! .
We are thankful to groups like Democrats DCCC for donating their time to our health campus. The volunteers helped our clients in the food pantry with their grocery selections and also cooked up a delicious meal in our hot meals program. Today the farm feels a little empty. For the past 6 weeks TeenWorks teens have been at the farm working hard and learning a lot. They positively impacted their community, mapped out business plans to manage their own farms, made friends, and left an everlasting impression on our hearts. Yesterday, they left with a bang, or maybe more like a pop. 🎈(we had a water balloon fight) We thank these teens for their hard work and most importantly, their friendship.
Redistributing the onions that came to us via our food rescue program. 🍽 The phytochemicals in onions that scavenge free radicals may also reduce your risk of developing gastric ulcers, according to the National Onion Association. The chromium in onions assists in regulating blood sugar. The sulfur in onions helps lower blood sugar by triggering increased insulin production.” - LiveScience

All SFC members! Our next corporal work of mercy is feeding the hungry. What better way to do that than helping ICC's very own Food Pantry? The pantry is open from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm this Friday (and every other Friday after that) and we will be reporting to aunty Dami. If there's more than enough hands to help in the pantry, I'm sure aunty Dami will find a way to use us to make the time the pantry is open exciting for everyone involved.
Also! I know we've been pretty silent on the meetings front (chalk that up to a busy and exciting July), but this Friday, we will be having an Open Forum teaching on the mass. When do we bow and when do we genuflect? How come it's always Old Testament, then New Testament, then a Gospel? Can we hold hands during the Our Father? If you have questions like these, bring them to our meeting on Friday. Gathering will be at 7:00pm in Portable 1 (right after the Food Pantry closes). God bless!
Today’s field trip for colloquium, we went to Pine Manor🌲 which is a 501c3 that helps Lee county’s poverty by providing a food pantry, childhood activities, culinary & sewing classes for job building, and a community garden where they learn about native plants and get to have their own portion of garden and access to fresh food. This is a great way to build a community up, instead of keeping them suppressed. 🌱🌻🍴#pinemanor#community#nonprofit#colloquium#fieldtrip#foodpantry
