Tuna salad photo captured before devouring. Too good to be true but forgot to add pomegranate arils. Otherwise perfect with tuna in olive oil, avocado oil and 🥑 avocado chunks. Red union, chives and garlic. Balsamic vinegar. Quail egg. Salt, pepper and herbs. #foodisgood
The goodness that is a smoothie bowl on a ridiculously humid day 🙏 Who's with me?! This one was a base of frozen raspberry, papaya + banana, dates, cacao + peanut butter, topped with more papaya + raspberry, and cacao granola... Clearly I had some cravings that needed attending to 🙊 #saturdays#breakfasttime
Less pretty, late night post ft. a mug muffin and @halotopcreamery banana split to get me through being a RA this weekend (rounds in the residence halls until 1am on the biggest football weekend of the year) #SendPrayers
•late night real talk•
All day today my heart has been unsettled with sadness for how many girls don't see themselves as beautiful. Last week I saw a girl I was once friends for the first time in a while & came to learn she had fallen into anorexia. I looked at her and instantly knew. At the same moment I became sad for her, her boyfriend said "you guys are both so small!" "What?" I thought.. i'm not that small anymore? Body dysmorphia is so real y'all and we need to guard our hearts against it. While working the desk today, two girls walked by; one talking about how "fat" she's gotten this year and how big her thighs are. Her friend (trying to be supportive) assured her that boys like "bubble butts." At what point did we as humans stop believing that God made us beautiful? At what point did the focus of our minds turn from serving others to thinking about our own body image? We don't need to look a certain way for anyone because our hearts are what matter the most. I forget this almost daily, but God is good and brings little reminders to point me back to who HE says I am. I once thought I was fat, lost the weight, and found myself even more unhappy. Now, i'm told to gain the weight back and be comfortable with those changes. No matter what the goal is; if your heart is not the most important aspect of your journey, the end result will still fail you. •
