It’s been such a while since I had Taste of Lebanon @tasteoflebanon1 chicken shawarma sandwich. But oh boy I once I got my hands on it I devoured that sandwich in minutes 😋 they have been best middle eastern food option in Northern Chicago due to cheap but delicious food and unwavering quality.
Fail to plan, plan to fail!
I love taking some time on Sundays to plan and prep ahead for the week ❤️ I am most appreciative of all the food everyone brought over! The cakes, ice cream, everything was so good and needed while I tried to recover from the surgery last week. Bit I know me, and I know the slippery slope it is so easy for me to go down in when I don’t plan and prep.
I don’t know if I have gained weight, I can’t “hop” on the scale lol but I can tell you I don’t FEEL good. I am sluggish and craving more and more sugar so I know it’s time to reset and get back on my healthy eating wagon. I know my body is under stress and the best thing I can do is help it heal by nurturing it with good food 🤗
So I planned and Shane is prepping because I’m blessed to have a supportive Hubby who understands how important it is to me. I also got myself a group of people to help hold me accountable who have the same goals!
This my friends is a recipe for success when it comes to weight loss. I don’t know if you have ever tried it, but I guarantee you if you commit to planning, take a little time to prep and get some support around you, you will also have great results!

Bosan dengan bakso berkuah? Yuk buat bakso goreng dengan cocolan sambal matah yang super pedes! Cc: @anstatasya
Bahan Bakso Goreng:
250 gr daging sapi giling
100 gr udang giling
3 siung bawang putih
50 gr tepung kanji
1 btr putih telur
½ sdt baking soda
1 sdt minyak wijen
Bahan Sambal Matah:
20 buah cabai rawit
1 btg serai, ambil bagian putih, iris tipis
12 siung bawang merah, iris tipis
½ sdt terasi bakar
5 lbr daun jeruk, buang tulang daun lalu iris tipis
3 buah jeruk lemon cui
Cara Membuat Bakso Goreng:
1. Siapkan mangkuk, campurkan daging sapi giling dan udang giling ke dalam bowl. Campukan bawang putih cincang, aduk sampai rata.
2. Masukkan garam, merica, gula pasir tepung kanji, baking soda dan minyak wijen aduk sampai bener-benar merata.
3. Panaskan minyak di dalam wajan (jangan sampai panas-panas) dengan api sedang.
4. Buat bulatkan dengan sendok lalu goreng adonan yang sudah dicetak.
5. Goreng adonan bakso sampai kecokelatan. Angkat lalu tirisakan.
Cara Membuat Sambal Matah:
1. Dalam mangkuk, campurkan irisan cabai rawit, bawang merah, serai, daun jeruk, terasi, gula garam dan perasan jeruk lemon cui lalu aduk.
2. Tuangkan minyak panas lalu aduk kembali, sisihkan.
3. Selagi panas, masukkan bakso goreng ke dalam sambal matah, aduk rata.
4. Siap disajikan. 。

The past 3.5 months have been mentally, physically, emotionally tough as I worked to heal a stress fracture in my ankle. No running for what felt life forever. I started running distance 8 years ago. Throughout those years, my love for running only grew and the distances got longer. I started to learn about sport nutrition, exercise physiology and the impact minor details had on performance. I have had my fair share of under-fueling and overtraining since high school, and as a future RD, I want to promote the importance of adequate nutrition for all athletes - young, old, professional or recreational. As I slowly ease back into running, hydration and nutrition will remain top priority for me. This week I will be dropping some performance nutrition knowledge starting with Magnesium (Mg). Mg is a mineral that plays a role in over 300 metabolic processes impacting bone health, heart health and glucose regulation. Some deliciousness from last weekend!! I was going to cook up some shrimp & zoodles, but changed my mind & decided to skip the cooking (except for the shrimpies of course) & make it into a refreshing raw salad! 🥗 And while I'm normally not a packaged foods type, when I took my sister to @traderjoes for her bday things I snagged this's Bruschetta & hot d***!! 😍 It's something my mom & Gran are super into, so after checking the ingredients I had to give it a go! It's honestly similar af to sauces I make myself, so I probably won't repurchase again tbh👉🏽 chopped Roma tomatoes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, basil, salt, garlic, sugar, black pepper. No preservitives, artificial colors or flavors, or additives of any kind! 🙌🏽 As if I've been sharing in my nutrition posts, packaged foods don't havvveeee to be your worst enemy- just do your due diligence & check the labels carefully! 🙏🏽 Details of the rest of this #whatsonmyplate below as usual ☺️👇🏽

👉🏽 I honestly threw this into a bigger bowl & loaded up wayyyy more spinach 😜 Also note that there's no "direct" carb source & using 2 servings of the bruschetta means it was really low fat, so this makes an ideal SIDE salad. Protein-packed with the shrimp & spinach for sure, but not ideal for a complete, well-balanced meal 😚
Some days, I'm a wizard in the kitchen and experiment with new recipes + flavors.
Other days, I channel my inner "24 year-old still living at home" and make scrambled eggs, wilted greens from our CSA box, and (non-dairy) butter for dinner✌🏼
Forever grateful for amazing apps like @headspace. Stay tuned for a future post about apps that helped me (and continue to help me) in recovery. One in particular was recommended to me by my nutritionist and was amazing during my first few weeks of recovery.👀
hello and happy sunday everyone😁 here is my yummy dinner from last night, and i’m about to share my moms recipe for these healthy parties😍
here’s what you need:
here’s how to make it:
•mince the onions and mushrooms
•start sautéing the onions and garlic in olive oil until they turn light brownish
•add the mushrooms and spinach •keep mixing and cooking until you get a nice mixture
•in a big bowl, take the soft tofu and mash it all up
•add the hot mix of veggies and stir •take the ground beef and mix it into the bowl
•crack 2 eggs and mix it all up
•add any seasonings that you wish (we use mrs. dash)
•mash all the ingredients together until you get a nice creamy texture
•form the mixture into patties and cook it with olive oil for about 4 minutes on each side •serve with some delicious sides and enjoy🤤
with this recipe, the way we make it doesn’t involve any measuring so you can basically eyeball it👀 we used 2 pounds of ground beef i think and it makes a lot of patties so you will have meals for the whole week☺️

Breakfast is not the most important meal of the day.
It doesn’t kick start your metabolism.
This is BS.
Fasting for a little longer in the morning reduces the number of ‘eating hours’, which often means less calories consumed.
Ironically a lot of people get hungrier and consume more food overall during the day when they have breakfast.
If you do fancy some grub first thing, make sure it has plenty of protein to keep you fuelled and full till lunch.
But if you don’t fancy it, simply say sayonara 🙏
every weekend I like to do a ridiculous, over the top creation so this weekend's project: Oreo inspired sweet rolls! rich, chocolate rolls filled with a decadent chocolate filling and topped with a vegan cream cheese "frosting". the secret ingredient here is hersheys special dark cocoa! it gives these sweet rolls that amazing color and amazing flavor! this recipe is based off of my microwave pumpkin cinnamon rolls so these are also made in the microwave and they are also vegan if you use vegan butter and chocolate chips in the filling. full recipe will be below!
Oh guess what I did? I ate out unaware it would happen!!! And yano it was okay nothing bad had happen I an still me! We went to a vegan place in Manchester @vrevmcr which btw is amazing and all lovely people 😁 I had an avocado burger and a chocolate peanut butter milkshake 😍👌
This has to have been the scariest thing I've done for a while. I thought we were just doing golf, but I went out and I enjoyed my time with my boyfriend and his family because that's what you do in life. You enjoy things , thats what I want. You can all do this it's so freeing to be able to chose anything of a menu and one day I want to be able to do this where ever I go!! Oh I also lost at golf but I still had lots of fun. It’s all about the prep for me!! I get all my recipes I want to make for the week, check what ingredients I have and what I need from the store!!! I write my list according to how the store is laid out to make it faster and easier!!! That way I am not running back and forth like a crazy person to each section because I forgot something!! If I don’t prep and have healthy meals and snacks at my fingertips that is when I get into trouble!! Having my fridge stocked and ready with cleaned and cut up fruits and veggies makes it so much easier to keep with my clean eating!! Love it!! It’s a lifestyle now for me, don’t get me wrong we all have days when it’s necessary to have a treat or two!!! I have a FREE Group I run all about clean eating!!
