Some days (or maybe a period of time in your life) are rough and you feel really weighed down with everything. On days like these you gotta take it easy on yourself and not give into negative thoughts - you are greater than them and still worthy of love ❤️ Try to make time to relax, make things that make you happy and eat food that will nourish your body (it’ll make you feel better internally as well), remember you are not alone, you are surrounded with people that care about you 🤗
#nourishbowl deets: falafel, steamed veggies (cherry tomatoes, zucchini, peas, corn and spinach) bulgur and pumpkin seeds 🍅🌽

Pancakes with alll the toppings 😍🥞
So, as promised, here are the AMAZING pancakes from Mimi’s Creperia when I went for brunch a few weeks ago. The biggest, fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever had, topped with banana, maple syrup and white choc buttons (which went all melty and delish 🤤). My only regret is that I shared them - next time I’m 100% having a stack to myself 😂. I know I said it before but seriously go if you get chance - you can literally build your own crepe/pancake stack and their other breakfasts/savoury crepes etc are also fantastic 🤩
Because eating healthy doesnt mean skimping on foods or having 3 lettuce leaves with a protein. Get creative and experiment. Let's change our thinking. "Eating healthy" should just be eating... and not something you only do when you're making up for some deficit elsewhere in your diet. This is my miso meat bowl, featuring toasted cauliflower rice tossed in nutritional yeast, roast veges and avo. Avo-go at that would ya!
P R E W O R K O U T 🤷🏼♀️ Fuelling your body correctly is key to a good workout, IMO. But what that fuel might be can be SO individual. When I was running regularly (wayyy back when 😅) I could get through anything up to a 10k on just a coffee and a ‘nana 🍌 Since switching back to resistance training and, more recently, to much heavier lifting that banana just won’t cut it! Whats more, your pre-workout might vary depending on when in the day you do your workout. It can be a minefield, especially with Instagram featuring athletes hammering the liquid ‘pre-workout’ left, right and centre. I’m not knocking it, but it’s definitely not for me and it doesn’t have to be for you either.
Currently this ⬆️ is my chosen ‘pre-workout meal’, fuelling my 7am lifting session before work; 2x wholemeal crumpets, smooth PB and a coffee. Carbs, healthy fats, a kick of protein and a side of caffeine. 👍🏼
It goes without saying that your chosen pre-workout goes hand in hand with your post-workout. Fuelling yourself well at both ends is vital for a healthy fitness journey. But don’t let Instagram be the judge of what works for you. It’ll take some trial and error but figuring out what works best for YOU will serve you better than “doing it for the ‘gram”👌🏼
| I travelled through Australia a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you, they have some great places for a foodie like me! 😍

🤨FOOD DECISIONS ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👩🏻💼Yesterday I was at #FoodMattersLive and one of the lecturers was talking about ‘food decisions’... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📈These are desisions we make all the time - In fact, research suggest we make them, on average around 200 times a day ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍽This could be what you’re going to have for breakfast, whether you have tea or coffee, what items you’re going to add to your food shop or whether or not to have a dessert ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🙇🏻♀️These may be conscious or unconscious choices...
🤔But this got me thinking about what influences these thoughts...
❓Are they effected by what you see on social media?
⁉️Does social media have a positive or negative impact on your food decisions?
🤤Instagram in particular can be jam packed with mouth watering and delicious looking foodie photos
🤷🏻♀️But it may also be making you question your food choices and having a negative impact on this ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🙋🏻♀️I get a lot of message about things like portion sizes and how much we should eat - these questions are often triggered by looking at other peoples Instagram posts but I have to remind people we are all SO unique! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🥄The way you eat will not be the same as how someone else might eat and this is really important to remember if you’re trying to build a healthy relationship with food
🙌🏻My point is - if you’re someone struggling with your relationship with food, try not to allow posts to have a negative impact and keep your instagram world a positive place! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💚Your foodie world is unique to you - let’s keep it that way! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

From initial disappointment to delicious discovery.
I had no means to make oatmeal this morning, so my much anticipated savoury porridge had to be transformed into... ...Carrot, Zucchini And Oat Salad!
Black Pepper Masala
