Vegan/gluten-free grocery haul here of more junk food than I should have...don’t shop while hungry! Lol anyways, I bought: plain coconut yogurt, chocolate coconut yogurt, horseradish leek sauerkraut, vegenaise, tomato sauce, fucktons of vegan cheese because I can’t control myself, heirloom tomatoes, dolmas, veggie burgers, sparkling flavored water, a ton of jalapeños, mixed greens for smoothies, avocados, cabbage, bananas, plantain, pinto beans, Beyond Meat burgers, mustard, BBQ sauce, and almond milk creamer.
For the record, yes, I am totally aware that I hoard food lol 🌱❤️😘
I think I am at the stage when I can rename this instagram from @duochrome.unicorn to something like ‘the hoarding life’ 😂😭
Areas I need to work on:
🍭 Makeup and beauty - from makeup I have too many lip products and eyeshadow, from beauty I am hoarding shower gels, toothpaste (😅), not doing the best with moisturisers and deodorants either. I have a full box full of unopened products to stock up... Started addressing this in April, so some progress was made.
🍭Food - what you see in picture are sweets that are either slightly expired or will expire soon. I have another, slightly fuller box of sweets that we have more time to eat, one box of savory snacks (let’s be honest, that box is 1/3 air because that is how they pack crisps nowadays 😂) and another box for protein bars and snacks on the go.
🍭 Food 2 - spices, sugar, jars of peanut butter/nutella/jam, liquid chocolate/toffee sauces, teas and other drinks. I keep buying coffee, but I never drink more than two cups of it - because I don’t like coffee. For some reason I feel these things last forever but a) I dont have space for having duplicates of them and b) they dont last forever. We now have one small cupboard in kitchen full of nuts, dried fruit, puding and some other things which are either slightly expired or will expire by the end of summer.
🍭 I also hoard underwear, the number of socks I have is ridiculous...
🍭 Stationery, nailpolish... #
Doing my best to use up and declutter what I don’t need. Wish me luck and if you are on the same hoarding boat as me, good luck on your anti-hoarding journey! I just wanted to let you know you are not alone ❤️
I’m doing the #shelfcookingchallenge because I’m a self proclaimed #foodhoarder that needs to be able to walk in the pantry. So for breakfast I took about 1 cup of pancake mix, add a 1/2 cup of flaxseed, a splash of vanilla about 3/4 cups of peanut butter, and H20 to make a waffle batter. I took about 1/4 cup of peanut butter and thinned out with some H2O to make syrup, and topped the waffles with berries. #yummy#theteacherstable#foodieinfortmyers
Well, it’s been awhile and I’m sorry, but life got in the way of blogging. So since the house is packed with food, I’ve decided to challenge myself. What can I make without buying anything except milk, fresh veggies, and fresh fruit? The challenge begins now! It’s time to get to the bottom of the freezer and be able to walk in the pantry again. Recipes will be posted soon! #foodhoarder#theteacherstable#foodieinfortmyers#foodchallege#shelfcookingchallenge
I was inspired last night watching #livewellforless to suss out what’s lurking in my pantry not being used and these are the culprits! Cue: #purgethepantry time 🎉 I’m seeing lots of popcorn, orange and poppyseed muffins, tahini bliss balls, homemade lactation tea and uhhhh.. jerky tofu coming up! Who else wants to join me clearing out your pantry? Any ideas for evening primrose oil? I was blending it in my smoothies late in my pregnancy to assist labor (spoiler: didn’t work) Who else watched Live Well For Less? I love seeing what other people put in their trolleys & loved that they had a young family on it (although still fairly unrelatable to us and our $100 weekly grocery budget) Bummed it was only a 2 part series 🤨
Homemade croutons are one of my most favorite thing to MAKE and not buy!! It’s also a great way for me to use up bread butts and frozen bagels! Any bread that I don’t use or know I won’t use in time, gets put into the freezer. The next time I need croutons, I pull out the bread/bagels cut them up and bake them into these little delights!
Here’s the recipe for ya! 🔆4 bagels (or equivalent amount of bread) cut into chunks
🔅Spread out onto baking pan
🔆Pour 1 stick of melted butter over the top 🔅Sprinkle with 1 Tbsp Lawrys garlic salt 🔆Mix up to assure all the butter is soaked into the bread as evenly as possible
🔅Sprinkle another small layer of Garlic salt on top
🔆 Bake in the oven at 375 for 20-25 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
Enjoy!! But beware, these little things are addicting and so so delicious!! Disclaimer: You might be saying, butter? Bagels? That doesn’t sound healthy. But I can tell you one thing, these croutons are much better for you than the store bought ones with all of the preservatives and processed junk that goes into them! With these, you know what you’re getting! And if you really want to make it even healthier, decrease the salt and use whole grain bread instead!! ❤️ .
@storitori12 sent me all this international candy and I don’t know what to do with it 😵 I mean eat if of course... but there’s so much and I’ll get fat 😂😂 I’ve been forcing myself to eat at least a small bit every couple days 😂😂 It’s very pretty and yummy, much better than US candy 😋 I’ve added the box from her to my other stash of food and tea that seems to last forever. 💚
#shelfcookingchallenge // I started following @funcheaporfree last year in the middle of #shelftember Thanks to @katietheplanner 🙌 I am so excited to participate in the May version. Head on over to Jordan’s Insta for the details. There’s also a private Facebook group called Shelf Cooking Community. I’m going to post my journey periodically since this aligns with my #savefortomorreaux goals. Money saved this month will be going toward my remaining student loan balance and second car note. Swipe through to see what I made for dinner tonight! I took the easy route as I build out a plan for the month and picked no prep frozen options: honey chipotle salmon I got during a BOGO sale and broccoli in butter sauce, both straight outta my freezer. 💕 #funcheaporfree#shelfcooking#theHappyPlanner#happyplanner#budgetplanner#budgetmeals#mealplanning

CURRENT FEELS = EXCITED AF ⚡️
A new approach to mindful nutrition arrived this morning. I literally just bought my kit online & was sent the log in to start viewing the videos & recipes NOW. Although my group kicks off May 14th, I’ll be getting started ASAP and you can too. Why wait?! I’m treating this like a holistic nutrition course ( 🌱PERF FOR ALL YOU HEALTH NERDS ON THE FENCE ABOUT A NUTRITION CERTIFICATION PROGRAM 🌱- Take it from me, as someone currently in school this is a MUCH more affordable option and you can even be mentored by ME to coach others through it ⚡️) #saveyomoney 🤓😜
I’m so excited to break my binge eating DEEEEEEP rooted issues. I’ve lost a lot of weight over the years but I still hide candy, get stoned and binge eat and struggle with this shit! It’s my dirty secret & I’m fucking sick of it. I’m so ready to truly have a healthy relationship with food. It’s not a reward. It’s not my companion. It’s not my bandaid. Its not my boyfriend. It’s not my enemy. Food is love, joy, experiences and I’m over demonizing it. Who 👏 Is 👏 with 👏 me? Link in bio babes! 🥦🍏🍕🥨🍌🍖🍔🥗
