For my oldest son's un- birthday (because we couldnt celebrate on his birthday)he just wanted chocolate quail and we forgot that father's day was the weekend we moved his dinner to. Luckily my husband loves it too so it was perfect for father's day as well. I used to make it all the time and then i just stopped because I forgot about it and was trying alot of new things. This is dark chocolate chill baked quail with a garlic lime butter asparagus tossed with walnuts and cranberries with some mashed potatoes. The savory chocolate sauce taste is very similar to mole' sauce but more chocolate flavored and less spicy.
🌶WHY are they so important? Even though most of us think it’s a huge drag to eat them (even I get over them and opt for the white choc macadamia cookies instead 😅) eating veggies has a huge list of benefits! I know we are told to eat them all the time...but exactly why do we need them?
They are filled with nutrients including 🥒potassium (helps maintain healthy blood pressure)
🥕Fibre (reduces blood cholesterol levels and is great for Coeliacs as it helps with bowel functions) being a coeliac myself, I have seen a huge change with adding veggies that are richest in fibre to my diet. 🥑Folate (helps the body form our red blood cells)
🌽Vitamin A (keeps our skin and eyes healthy - protects us from nasty infections) 🍆Vitamin C (Helps keep our teeth and gums healthy as well as healing any abrasions) 🌶
🌶Along with all of those benefits, veggies help reduce the risk of heart disease, some cancers and even obesity! Having a healthy diet helps hugely with clear thinking and decision making. Have a great Monday everybody !! 🤗🌼
