We're fine. The deer, not so much 😓
If there's an upside to this story, the deer was taken by a good Samaritan to a processing center in town where the meat will be donated to a food charity. I can at least hope that it will help feed a family this holiday season. .
DA BOYZ ARE BACK IN TOWN
Fresh from their gift wrapping session last Saturday, Coach Tim Viktil & his Minor Atom AA elves were very busy today at Zehrs-Cundles with their food drive! All donations go to support the Barrie food bank! 🥫

An anonymous donor just got us off to a big start on our First Annual Burde Beans Food Drive!
She wouldn't give her name, pose for a photo or even accept her free coffee coupon! The true spirit of giving! Thank you kind stranger!
Day 7 was a total and complete success on the 10 Days of Care-ing!!! It took a truck to haul all the donations of diapers for the #foodbank from @littletexasygk !! Incredible! ~ @careonair
Meet Sunny, one of The Mississauga Food Bank’s volunteers: “I started volunteering for TMFB as a Receptionist and Data Entry Clerk in 2017.
I volunteer because I am passionate about helping others and I feel that my volunteer work helps make a positive difference in the community, the city, and in people’s lives. It makes me feel warm and positive. It is always a great feeling to know that my work helps people and contributes to the community in some way.
Volunteering at The Mississauga Food Bank also provides me with opportunities to learn a lot about hunger and poverty in Mississauga and its impact on people; as well as the resources and efforts to try to eliminate hunger and poverty in Mississauga.
In my first year volunteering here, a client who was experiencing homelessness had arrived asking for food and he didn’t have a can-opener. The staff and I welcomed him and searched through the warehouse trying to get as many non-canned foods as we could find. In the end, we were able to find enough non-canned foods for him to stuff in a large bag as well as other personal care products. When I presented the food to him, he was so thankful and relieved. I ended up having a nice little chat with him and found out that he was living out of his suitcase.
This moment showed me firsthand how homelessness in Mississauga is still occurring and how the staff at The Mississauga Food Bank are passionate about eliminating hunger and taking care of people in Mississauga.
The Mississauga Food Bank and its staff provide a great, welcoming, and positive atmosphere. By volunteering, you will be contributing to a great cause and helping people who are experiencing difficult times. It’s also a great opportunity to learn more about the world, to learn new skills, and to meet great people!” Thanks Sunny, for everything you do here at TMFB! .
Something to think about this time of year is being thankful for the things we have. Did you know that 3.6m Australian's experience food insecurity every year and 27% of those are Children. This means that they can't eat because there isn't food... Switch your search engine to SamSearch and help us serve more meals. You'll feel great and help us make a real positive impact.
Alhamdulillah an excellent response from all the Masjids today with Blackburn Foodbank collection.
In total four transit/sprinter vans, 1 people carrier and couple cars full of food and household items were collected.
Response from Foodbank ‘they had never received food/products of this scale/magnitude ever before and were overwhelmed by everyone’s contribution’. Insha Allah we will share official statement and pictures/videos in due course.

Hey guys! If you’re stuck for any ideas on what to donate, there’s always soup! (Featuring my personal fave) remember you can bring your donations to class and a committee member will take it for you 😇
We LOVE getting emails like the one we got from one of our recipients today. They made use of ALL the perishable items they received at a recent Operation Fresh Express distribution. This is a great example of making a little bit go a long way. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us ❤️ #foodbank#perishables#canning#mobilefoodpantry
Shaden asks to pray for the Food Bank SIMONET that God would provide enough volunteers to serve the 125 families that benefit from this weekly service.
Shaden demande de prier pour la Banque alimentaire SIMONET afin que Dieu lui donne assez de bénévoles pour servir les 125 familles qui en dépendent, surtout en cette période de Noël.
A few weeks back I pledged to donate 10% from the sale of one of my artworks that was sold @lotsroadauctions towards a food bank to help people through the festive period! You might think 10% isn’t much, and you would be right! so I decided to donate 50%! A big thank you to the person that bought my art piece, you have helped out a lot of people without even knowing #lotsroadauctions#art#food#giving#charity#foodbank#hounslowfoodbox @hounslowfoodbox #xmas#christmas#giving#mpmotorrental @mpmotorrental @sonia_cheemax

YOUTH MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Our community is compassionate, generous and always there to help one another. It is inspiring to see our youth come together for the common good and to support a worthy cause, the Vaughan Food Bank. The Vaughan Youth Food Drive, led @ale.casbarro and @francestibollo, has already collected over 8000 pounds of goods! Thanks to their dedication and the efforts of our youth, many families in our community will enjoy a holiday meal this Christmas! #vaughan#fooddrive#foodbank#community#youth#efforts#dedication

🎄This Christmas I’ve talked about nothing but the Foodbank and @trusselltrust. It’s not too late to donate to your local foodbank before Christmas (and all year round), or to volunteer at a supermarket collection! 2nd Photo is the foodbank drive I started in my office - over 300 items in one week! 🛒 #foodbank#trusselltrust#christmas#52
Today we donated to the Food Bank. I often give a donation to either the cashier or the donation bin inside the store, but I’ll admit, more so during the holidays. This is my fridge right now. I consider us to be very blessed and privileged to have the ability to afford food and all the extras, especially with the atrocities occurring all over the world. $250 of just the basics of food just went into the fridge and the cupboards. The perishables will maybe last the week with a family of five, and I don’t consider my kids to be big eaters either. Something to think about if you are able to donate. I was also told that it is better to donate cash or actual food to the food bank, rather than gift cards, as the food bank can apparently get a better wholesale deal for the food. #foodbank#surreyfoodbank#give#donate#love#blessed#privilege#poverty#share
So many of us are so very lucky. And we don’t mean to patronise✨. If you’re following this page then you’re probably a parent, probably enjoy (amongst other things) the light relief of hearing about new restaurants, kids classes, coffee shops, fitness studios, nail salons and a whole host of local luxuries that make our lives (with & without kids in tow) that little bit more fun. And by and large, that’s what we post so that’s great (and thank you for for the follow!) but sometimes we need to get a bit more real.
Many of you locals will have heard of the wonderful work carried out by local charities @stlaurenceslarder and @sufranwlondon and they are continuing to spread their joy over the holiday season 😇. scroll left ⬅️.
To raise awareness and funds for these brilliant organisations @kensalqueenspark are bringing local businesses together through an auction that we all can take part in (prizes aren’t half bad either!)
If you’re a local business, please get involved and if you’re a local simply wanting to help (I know so many of you do just by the e mails asking for suggestions on ways to support the community this Xmas) then please take a moment to see how you can help here.
