I am a little over the whole diet label scenario. My daughter mentioned to me a few months ago (she is 9), that she would like to go vegetarian. I replied to her by saying that she did like eating certain types of meat...so my response was, ‘ how about you just eat what you feel like?’ We don’t need to label it, otherwise you might feel guilty if you step outside the box.

Paleo pumpkin bread cuz fall is here!!! I used all good ingredients in this like almond flour, coconut flour, pure maple syrup, and coconut oil (among other ingredients like 🎃 and cinnamon). The piece I’m holding has grass fed ghee on top too 🤤
It was very crumbly though... swipe ———-> to see my instagram presentation fail! 😂 anyone else have this problem with paleo baking? Perhaps I should have left it in there longer but it was still good!!!

Had a great food day yesterday... not so much in terms of calories though! Started off with a “shake and bake” from @elrosabyarcandfamily, followed by sassy eggs from @tipplerstapfv. 
Later in the afternoon, had half a pint of halo top and a small serve of popcorn chicken from KFC. Good for taste, bad in terms of health choices 😅.... plan for today is to fast until lunch (minus coffee) to help make up some of the extra calories I ate. #brisbanefoodie #foodbalance

We packed a picnic, walked along the river, and played pokemon go. The weather and views along the river were so so beautiful. Our sandwhiches were chicken lunch meat, pickles, cheese, and mayo on onion poppy ciabatta rolls. We had grapes, carrots, cheese, crackers, and pepperoni. I definitely want to go back with better walking shoes and take a long walk before winter hits.

Tomar agua es tan importante, ustedes no se lo alcanzan a imaginar. En verdad yo antes no lo creía y era tipo “pf el agua no sirve para nada, ademas que no sabe nada”. Hoy por hoy es mi mejor aliada, el agua es vidaaaa, hasta le siento sabor😂🤣, okno. Tantos son los beneficios que trae: Obviamente te mantendrá hidratado, te ayuda en la digestión y evita el estreñimiento —> ese era un problema que yo tenía y el agua me lo ha ayudado a vencer. 
Si no tomas nada de agua, te invito a que empieces tomando 1 litro, luego la sig semana 2 litros, la otra 3 lit. Yo tomo aprox 4 litros de agua al día (si no es más) tomo demasiadaaaa agua y les digo que me ha servido uffff mucho. 
Comienza tu y cuéntame los cambios😋👊🏽

Un almuerzo superhipermega saludable y delicioso😍👊🏽💕💪🏽 ARROZ DE COLIFLOR🥗

Bueno esta receta es súper fácil, necesitas: •2 tazas de coliflor triturado (lo único que tienes que hacer es cortar los arbolitos de coliflor, lavarlos muy bien y meterlos al procesador.. ahí coge la contextura de arroz) •Pedacitos de pollo • 1 huevo
•Pimentón, tomate, cebolla, zanahoria cortados en trocitos 
En una sartén engrasada con aceite de oliva pones los vegetales hasta que estén doraditos, luego echas el pollo sazonado con salsa de soya, un tris de miel y sal; revuelves varios minutos. 
En la misma sartén aparta esa mezcla (pollo y veggies) a un lado y en el otro lado echas el huevo, una vez tengas el huevo revuelto, une las dos mezclas. Por último vierte el coliflor triturado y revuelve todo por otros minuticos. .

Something I talk about a good amount is finding your balance in life and that includes finding your balance with food. For me, this doesn’t mean having HYPER CONTROL over what exactly you’re eating but indulging and knowing when you’re done. It’s when you know how to LISTEN to your body and to your “full and hunger cues.”

Now, did I eat all of these things myself? No.

Why? Because sharing things with Josh and our friends meant I could try more food that I don’t have regular access to. It also meant I could try ALL of these things and I didn’t even leave feeling “too full” or even bloated 🙏🏽

But just so ya know ... I did eat the whole ear of corn and the goodwhich (ice cream cookie sandwich 🤤) because yum

I don’t track macros or count calories or adhere to flexible dieting/intuitive eating. I drink my greens and make sure to eat my veggies, though I could do a better job lol, and I eat to fuel my body so that I can do the things I want to do. I lift because it makes me happy and makes me feel sane when I’m stressed out

Find what works best for YOU. Don’t worry about what I’m doing or what she’s doing or he’s doing or they’re doing. If it works for you, then keep at it. It one day what you’re doing stops working for you then adjust and find hat balance again. It’s all a learning experience and the only one who can make it work for you is yourself

Desayuno dominguero👊🏼💟 - La base son unas galletas de arroz y quinua (sig imagen les muestro cuales son) - 1 rodajita de jamón de pavo - Pedacitos de pollo con habichuela, pimentón, tomate, cebolla. Es súper fácil de hacer:
Simplemente cortas la pechuga de pollo en tiritas, las sazonas con salsa de de soya y un tris de sal. En una sartén con un poquito de aceite de oliva pones los vegetales con un tris de salsa de soya, espera que se doren y por último echas las tiritas de pollo, revuelves a fuego medio hasta que el pollo esté listo💪🏽 .

Grocery haul from a couple days ago. I absolutely love these ciabatta rolls for my lunch meat, pickle, and mayo sandwhiches 😍. I got carrots, grapes, and crackers with cheese for snacks. If you scroll you can see an example meal (sandwhich, cowboy beans, and carrots) and my beautiful snack plate lol. I also bought ice cream sandwiches...and decided to try the Low calorie option. To be honest I don't even know why...they're not even good and I ended up just giving them away. They're not worth it, the real delicious ones are worth it.

Preparación:

Amasas, luego haces bolitas y las aplastas
Las pones en una sartén o parrilla engrasada con aceite de oliva y las dejas a fuego lento hasta que queden doraditas. 
Para el relleno: - Pollo desmechado
- 1 huevo entero - Cebolla picada - Pimentón picado
- Tomate picado

En una sartén con aceite de oliva pones primero las verduras, les echas un poquito de salsa de soya, luego el pollo y por último el huevo. Vas revolviendo y listo🙈

Don’t get me wrong. I know what sacrifice looks like. I have been on BOTH ends of the spectrum. I have lived and breathed “discipline”. I don’t think there is anything wrong with committing on a high level for a short period of time. .
There is something that ignites in you 🔥when you commit on a higher level. It’s better than suffering in pain from not loving how you look and feel. Basically, feeling out of control....

HOWEVER

It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Balance is the 🔑 plain and simple.

•Loving your body
•Losing weight
•Living a healthier life

It Doesn’t take a freak ton of work.

This 👆🏻is why it freaks people out.

We definitely don't eat perfect in our household. See my salad drenched with ranch 😂. It's all about balance(I will be drinking my whey protein with this meal.) I will tell you when I see my kids eat their vegetables it makes my heart sing even if it's covered in ranch ❤

A balance where I was free to be me, to love my body just as it is, to do what I love, to eat what I love. Did you know your balance can look different from someone else’s balance? The whole purpose of balance is to create a life where you thrive, you love, you grow, you share, you dream. When you find your balance you create confidence and a shield where negative comments, past pains, hurtful people, ridiculous body expectations have no more power. You will come across them but they HAVE NO MORE POWER. I want to talk about this more but for now know wherever you are in your journey, you are not going to be stuck there forever. You have balance ahead…you are not alone and know that you were beautiful before you ever started making changes.

Тому знайшла для себе гарну альтернативу солодким напоям (вже майже 10років взагалі не вживаю ніяку солодку воду, то на мою думку дуже шкідливо). 🍹А ці смачнющі коктейлі від @_carpaccio_ не залишать байдужими нікого. Це просто 290мл. користі в одній пляшці з насінням чіа або базиліку.
....а до кави смаколик #bounty 🌴

I used to want ABS like the girls on covers of magazines and I finally got super slim ( middle pic) and my abs did NOT look like the others.  I worked hard to get those abs too! .
Once I hit my forties my body went thru some changes and the balance I once had that I was so proud of fell apart!  I was frustrated and mad because I was gaining weight even though I was still doing everything the same as before!  I did not want to change the great food balance that I had created and I did not want to gain weight back either! .
Fast forward 5 years I am now #fortyfive and I have stopped comparing myself to others!  Yes I have gained some weight back and yet I still have ABS! .
You will miss out on far to many things if you continue to compare yourself to others! 
There are tons of people that would love to have the bod you have right now!  So the goal for today is to be grateful that you have a body that moves and breathes and for others to love!  Be grateful and choose to love your body back! 💕💕

1️⃣ You aren’t setting CLEAR numerical targets⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Clear numerical targets are the the # of times you weight train in a week. The # of times you do cardio in a week. The # of calories, fats, carbs and proteins you eat in a day. Etc. These are SO important to set CLEAR, Non-negotiable targets on. ⁣⁣

2️⃣ You aren’t staying consistent ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
you are only doing the above periodically and jumping around from different weight loss methods. Trying new methods every couple weeks instead of using the same method. You have to realize that this takes TIME ⏰ and if you stay consistent you will see results. But they won’t happen overnight. ⁣⁣

Have you ever drove past a McDonalds and envied the person in the drive thru? Have you ever stood behind someone at the Grocery Store and found yourself jealous of what they had in their cart? I have.

I remember standing behind this beautiful lady and her two kids at a local HyVee. I was watching her take items out of her cart. First came the soda (man oh man, do I miss soda!) Next came 2 frozen pizzas rising from her cart, If I remember right they were Stuffed Crust peperoni pizzas. Is your mouth watering yet? Then, came the hardest part. Frosted sugar cookies with sprinkles! (my favorite) I found myself frustrated. I was jealous of this lady I had never met before because of what she was buying at the grocery store. It was that moment that I knew I had a problem. 
At work, my coworkers are constantly bringing in things like Cookies, Brownies, Doughnuts, Etc. I would see these things in the breakroom and immediately anxiety would wash over me. I feared that I would eat one. My coworkers would tease me saying “One doughnut is not going to kill you.” (yes Susan, I know it won’t kill me, but I don’t want it.) Instead of just walking away I would fire back with “Do you know how many calories are in that cookie?” or my favorite “Do you know how many hours of incline walking on the treadmill it would take me to burn off that doughnut!” I was making others feel bad for eating the treats, while trying to justify why I wasn’t eating them. 
When I discovered that I feared going to the grocery store because I was scared to buy something that wasn’t “good” for me. Or when I discovered I was jealous of people in the drive thru at fast food joints, I knew I had to find a balance between food and a healthy lifestyle.

I started to enjoy things that coworkers brought to work instead of fearing walking into the breakroom. I stopped fearing going to the grocery store and accepted that some people don’t have the same goals as me and that some people don’t care about the calories in one cookie.

These were sooo dang delicious! They are mini donuts with chocolate and maple drizzle from a food truck called “Say Cheese” who also does specialty grilled cheese. You should try them. 😋 it’s called balance.

This is goat cheese and spinach stuffed meatloaf with roasted brussel sprouts. The meatloaf is inspired by 4 Hour Chef by @timferriss. I didn’t use all the same ingredients though and had less meat than his recipe called for but it was so so so so good! Seriously, I can’t even explain how yummy! Perhaps I’ll work on my own version of this recipe 😁

Kasen and I made pizza for lunch today. I am well aware that this is NOT a healthy meal. Two things I want to note about this: 1. On our jam packed days, I like to find simple meals that Kasen can take the reins on and make with little to no help. This is so good for our kids for loads of reasons. Give it a try, even if the OCD in you is screaming "NEVER!". 2: When you need to make things simple, you can still be mindful of your ingredients. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water is a good expression for this. Could we have made a cauliflower crust? Defininitely! BUT that would take simplicity out of the equation and nobody got time (or patience) for that today 😅 So what could be better than pizza dough? Depending on the source, Naan is a good subsitutue. It contains protein and fiber, and if you can find a whole wheat option, even better (note: I'm not labeling Naan 🍞 as healthy, but it can be a better option)! How about sauce? 🍅Organic (and little to NO sugar) is best and you can make a big jar to have on hand for such occasions- if you need a recipe, I got you! Cheese 🧀 check the source. Not all cheeses are created equal. Whatever meats 🐓🐖🐄 or veggies  loaded on: Organic or at least local, no hormones, or nitrates, or any of that yuck 😝 is gonna be the ticket. So mamas and busy people (especially plunging into a new school year)- I see you 👀 Easy doesn't have to mean sacrificing all quality. This is a great starting place if you want to transition into eating better 🌱 Start with an ingredient check because for real, what we put in our body matters most of all and I guarantee that it's worth the investment and changes in the long run.
