This #tbt (technically #tbfriday ) is an ode to childhood and the friends that helped shape it. This is my 5th grade class photo, I was warming up to this new school I had been transferred to in the third term of 4th grade and I guess you could say that this was the beginning of the person I eventually ended up becoming. My memories of this class are fond ones (minus the time a teacher turned around and slapped my face randomly DESPITE it not being that kind of school and the teacher being non-Nigerian 🤨 (it was definitely a cultural thing, some cultures slap like water 😂) I remember each person vividly and hold dear in my heart the awesome class we were in. Throwback Thursday memories 😊
In between playing nurse for my boy last week and then while I was sick, I got the time and space to reflect on how this time of year around Samhain into November and December is always a time of big changes, transitions and shifts for me. Samhain is the end of Harvest time and for me it does seem to be a very important transitional time.
Whilst I often feel the inner need to slow down and hide away at this time, in contrast to that it always seems to be a time of big breakthroughs and shifts into new territory.
Around this time in 2005, I completed my Yoga teacher training, In Nov 2008 I went travelling to India and studied yoga, philosophy and vedic chanting at KYM after completing a 10 day silent Vipassana meditation retreat, (I was so chilled after that trip!)😌. In early Dec 2011 my son was born.
In Nov 2015 my business changed to allwoman from Fluidyoga.
This year I have started to teach teachers as part of the fantastic Yoga Kula TTC, as an online Fertility tutor and with Pregnancy CPD trainings. Tomorrow I will start to tell you more about some other new trainings that are available from me too.
Day 15 – Today, I am thankful for old pictures that bring back fond memories. Who knew that back in the day, we would have something called “Throwback Thursday” on social media, designed to show the world just how ridiculous our clothes and/or hairstyles were, when we thought we were too fly! I enjoy taking a look back and instantaneously remembering how mad I was at my Mom for making me sit at the table to finish my soggy cereal; how ridcoulous I felt being the only girl wearing a dress on my first day of first grade at Hatch Elementary; or how fashionable I thought my brother and I were on Easter Sundays, and realizing how extremely 70’s we were! Fond memories are the reason why we make the time to capture moments in photos. It may seem insignificant now, but what a laugh we’ll get 20 years from now! #30daysofthankfulness#day15#oldpictures#fondmemories#childofthe70s#istilldontlikesoggycereal#hatchhawk#eastersundaybest#thekids#70sfashion#tbt#throwbackthursday
TB to last week and a great meeting at Somerset House....another positive connection in the new world of work!! There's a Charlie Brown exhibition on at the moment.. I used to love reading the Snoopy cartoons in the paper when I was a child and have long used the phrase "Good grief Charlie Brown"...especially when exasperated!! Seeing that favourite phrase written all around the building made me smile 😀

Dejjem emmint li l-edukazzjoni hija r-risposta. Bħala Kap tal-European Parliament Office in Malta nedejt inizjattiva li tinvolvi 8 skejjel sekondarji biex it-tfal tagħna jitgħallmu aktar dwar kif taħdem l-Ewropa.
Biex iż-żgħażagħ tagħna jisfruttaw l-opportunitajiet li tista' toffri l-Ewropa jeħtieġ li ninvestu aktar fl-informazzjoni u l-edukazzjoni.
L-esperjenza ta' Malta ġiet ikkunsidrata 'best practice' fuq livell Ewropew tant li l-inzjattiva issa nfirxet f' 7 pajjiżi oħra.
On this day 10 years ago, I had my convocation at my alma mater - the University of Ibadan. I graduated with the Medical Students Prize.
As UI celebrates 70th anniversary of its establishment, I thank all my teachers, all the patients I learned with at UCH, my classmates who made me a Class Rep from 100L to 500L, fellow Mellanbites, fellow Brownites, fellow campus journalists (Mellanby Hall Press, ABH Press & UCJ), fellow debaters, fellow Rotaractors, fellow UI Jaycees, fellow HAPPY Club Founders and members, fellow athletes, fellow UIMSA senators, fellow SUG comrades, fellow Genuine Hams, fellow FECAMDS folks, Sport Aficionados, FAMSA Board members and a host of others who helped to shape my life. I passed through UI and UI passed through me. I don't take it for granted.
Over the years I have made copious amounts of #christmas#fruitmince the first year I started out with a little pot and 1 batch... all made in the kitchen... every year the mixture increased in size... you give away 1 jar here and 1 jar there, now I make it outside in the shed in a large camp pot on the camp oven... still smells just as good as it did the first year I made it... #fondmemories
This year I have found some of the ingredients I normally use unavailable, so I have had to improvise... it's a shame really, but I think that nowadays people buy their traditional desserts and dont cook like grandma did, so there's no demand for Christmas staples from years gone by... or they might keep Christmas to a minimum and just have cold desserts, especially here in NZ... what ever the reason may be I hope this batch turns out as good as it normally does

This old pic of me riding in Knatts valley Kent training with my old club The Greenwich Tritons. My coach driving behind giving us support and encouragement. The weather was miserable but I needed the miles. What wonderful memories #greenwichtritons#triathlontraining#fondmemories#cycling
So I lost my Uncle this morning. He has been ill for quite sometime now. I thought I would be fine but emotion took over still.
He was my funny Uncle who taught me how to drive (well I forced him to teach me , I was 12/13). I have fond memories of him and so glad I was able to see him last year.
Rest in peace Mak Anggut :), no more pain. Hope you are now hanging out with Gaek (my grandma) and have a nice long catch up.
Today, I lovingly honor my mom’s memory on her birthday, November 13. More than ever, I feel privileged to have been given such a beautiful woman to nurture me, guide me, and live an exemplary life for me. Her first and most important lesson to me was to love and trust the LORD with all my heart. She taught me to accept, love, and appreciate people, their differences, and their value. She taught me to never compromise my own values and beliefs. She taught me gracefulness and etiquette. She taught me confidence and how to be strong in the midst of trials and adversity. I miss her, but I am strengthened and motivated with every memory of her. #mymamasbirthday#inexceedinglovingmemory#fondmemories#myshero
