It’s amazing how much you can think about when it’s just you and Mother Nature. Had a great time hiking pretty far at a new spot, found lots of tailing, backing, and happy happy fish! #flyfishing#carponthefly#glassisnotdead
The spots, the colors, the mentality. Just amazing. It seems like the only creatures who could survive over 10,000 ft would be hideous beasts of some sort. These little alpine snowflakes beg to differ.
Gabe (@radriguezinc), our content manager (among many other titles) is the eye behind nearly all of the photos in our feed. Today he shares photo and words from a recent fishing adventure. // “If soccer is known as “the beautiful game” then I think it’s only fitting to refer to fly fishing as “the beautiful sport”. The fluid motion of the cast. The moment the fish strikes. The catching (and releasing) of these beautiful creatures requires leaving behind the everyday obligations and softly trekking into their glorious habitat. This little beauty was caught fly fishing the Deschutes back when the Salmonfly and Golden Stonefly were thick in Maupin. I learned so much fishing with guide @briansilvey who has been guiding Oregon fly fishing for over 30 years. So much I want to learn about fishing!!” // #flyfish#flyfishingjunkie#oregonlife#oregonnw#deschutesriver#deschutes#troutfishing#riverlife#getoutanddrive

Stop by the shop Thursday 8/16 from 3 pm - 6 pm and see @monaseeart art on display. Here’s a little bit more about her: “The soul of an artist cannot remain hidden” -Henri J.M Nouwen-
Born and raised in Montana at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Hannah was privileged to consistently be surrounded by natures beauty and wonder. From the tops of snowy mountains to the crystal glacier rivers, she has taken the influences of her home town as well as places she has traveled and put them into her paintings. Using bold representations in both flies and abstract paintings, she leaves the viewers with their own sense of connection to the paintings. Through every
season of her life, art has kept her grounded as a way of expression and communication to the world around her. She is truly a gifted artist and person. Now, residing in Nashville, TN with her husband, she spends her time painting, exploring, listening to great music and searching for the next big fish around every bend.
In her words: ” Painting has become something more in my life than I ever thought it would be. It went from being something that I did on a rare occasion, to being the
passion in my life that I pursue on a daily basis. I love that I can combine both fly fishing and painting. The stories I get to hear behind each fly or commission inspire me to portray them as best as I can and to make my own life full of adventure. I hope that when you study my paintings, you leave more inspired about life and it’s possibilities. ”
