The work is slow going this time of year 😅😵, but this place is starting to come back together after the devastation of the tenting. I have a few more things to do, but we are almost there! 🤗😬 **And 30cent Vincas, don’t mind if I do!!! Pink and white pops of color. They will look amazing against the blue flowers of the plumbago, and the light pink flowers of the Hibiscus 🌸
I could make a long list of what I love - family, books, journaling, my Bible, summer, yellow finches at the feeder etc.
On this beautiful summer day I will highlight my flower garden. It’s first year and I need to move some things around and keep learning, but I love the colors.
Such a beautiful photo, a reminder of the beautiful creatures we are harming with the way we treat our planet.
The meadow blazing star is starting to bloom, and the monarchs are dancing all around us in the garden all day long as they float from these to the zinnia to the marigolds and always back to these for second and third sips. If you want to attract adult monarch butterflies in late summer and you live in their migratory path, this is one of two native perennial species (think: prairie plants) I consider a must have (the other is whatever milkweed species are native to your area). In addition to perennials, zinnia and marigolds are also frequently visited nectar sources for monarchs and many other butterflies. Can you tell the sex of these two? I’m pretty sure these are both males. How can I tell? Look just below that first fork on the right side of their wings; there is a little smudge spot along a vein. When they open their wings they will have dots on their wings at 7 and 5 o’clock. #seedtofork#inmygarden#mygarden#nofilter#gardenchat#monarch#meadowblazingstar#flowergarden#flowerstagram#gardenchat#pollinatorgarden#pollinators#growyourown#prairiemoonnursery#minnesota
Fall is coming and I love fall but, right now I’m just really loving Summer. In the retail world, I’m already way behind. I need to be posting all things pumpkin and spice but I am going to give myself a few more days. Also, we are still getting so many fun blooms from the garden! Fresh blooms, I’m going to miss you. #flowergarden
