About a month ago, on the Saturday before I had Pippa, I was nearly 40 weeks pregnant, pausing between contractions to decorate for an event that was super special to my friends and me. I loved everything about that day with @jessiesue19, @mylouxbug, @jakegswick, @elisabisceg, @beckycrocker, & @wendyraden! But the absolute best part was leaving the house early in the morning, taking our (at the time) two kids to the beautiful garden at our local elementary school, harvesting and foraging for seriously AMAZING flowers - mostly dahlias, and then getting to spend all day making pretty arrangements and being creative with friends. Every bit of it was exactly what I would love to do every single weekend. 🌿
Flowers from our garden. I never considered myself a gardener, but there’s something deeply satisfying about picking homegrown flowers. So satisfying that I’m currently considering creating a small cut flower garden to grow the most beautiful dahlias like @sigridsminde 🌸🌱✨
Our family is currently walking through the loss of my Dad... There has been much prep and details along the way - tonight is the viewing and tomorrow the burial. My Dad was the kind of person that could make you laugh and cry in the same breath. The challenges in a relationship can be so huge in life, but then once the person is gone, the challenges fade while the sweet memories are even more cemented.
My Mom and I went shopping for my Dad’s burial outfit. Our kind sales associate had recently been through a similar loss and she reminded us about the importance of the dash between our date of birth and our date of death. How do we live that dash? Our lives are a small speck in the grand scheme of things and we often get too caught up in the cares of this world to live life to the fullest. Before we know it, that chance is gone. It’s not about the promotion, it’s not about the spotless house, but about how we loved, encouraged, and served those around us. Live your dash well! - - - - -
Monday blues kicking in from our most recent Indian wedding! We could look at these petals floating on water all day. So pretty 😍 🌹 #mondayblues
Ranunculus and a teeny Anemone from my garden. These two types of flowers have got to be some of my most favourite and most used. I absolutely love seeing them grow and am always fascinated by the variation of colours that c okme out each year. They are always so different to store bought flowers too. They seem to have richer colour and dry better....
