Spent a day exploring Haleiwa and found all the back country roads. 😍 It’s my fav little surf town in Oahu and also because it’s ONLY a 45 min bus ride from where I’m staying. Anything less than an hour is like heaven and feels like a breeze. Finally getting this public transportation thing down. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 My fav place to eat there is @haleiwabowls!!!! I feel like I’m Hawaii’s new poster child shouting from their mountaintops, “Come visit this place, theres beaches, mountains, endless açaí bowls, and also no AC. ⛰ 🏖 🌊 But it’s okay. As long as you have a million swimsuits and dresses, everything will be well in the world.” My white maxi dress is from @francescas and fits like a dream. It’s one of my fav stores for cute dresses for special occasions, accessories and gifts! 👗 👗
Social media is tricky because there’s this silent pressure that certain days can’t go by without being acknowledged. But sometimes the expected narrative just doesn’t fit. Father’s day is a complicated one for me and there’s... a lot to unpack. Today started at a cemetery and ended at Disneyland, celebrating dads past and present, young and old, living and dead (and also my mom because it’s her birthday). It was full and beautiful and perfect but emotionally very complex. I’m not a big feelings person but... mad love to all of yas having a Father’s day that’s simultaneously happy and sad. It’s... a weird place to be.
On the fifth day, which was a Sunday, it rained very hard. I like it when it rains hard. It sounds like white noise everywhere, which is like silence but not empty.
