First photo in the before/after series!
Ok, so here is how I want to do it. The first photo is the after, swipe to see the before. The third photo is before I staged; because I sometimes need the reminder as I see photos on Instagram that they are STAGED. And maybe you need that reminder too. 😊
A little bit of history on our house: We bought this 1926 craftsman home in the fall of 2009. A fixer upper. The floors were in terrible shape and were ripped out by my amazing husband, Joe. I helped pull out the 10,000 nails left behind in the sub floor. Joe installed the new hardwood floors himself. We had a company come sand and stain them. We did all the painting of the trim and walls.
Joe also installed the wood stove insert and tiled over the brick fire place. I told you he was handy! •
Welcome to our home. ☺️

Last week was undeniably hit hard with so much loss. 💔 My heart is hurting for everyone affected by the Malibu/Woolsey/Hill/Camp fires, and the Thousand Oaks shootings. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Prayers are so important. I firmly believe one minute in Gods presence can accomplish more than years of striving. Additionally there are more ways to help those affected 1. Donate to Red Cross to help people affected by the wildfires simply by texting “REDCROSS” to “90999”. 2. Donate towards providing emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they protect ➡️ by following the link in my bio!
This may not look like much to you, but it’s about 10 hours of work! 💪
I installed shiplap around our tub this weekend and on one wall, painted it & caulked. Still lots left to do, but I’m gonna celebrate this small progress (with pizza)!🍕 💃
Swipe for a terrible photo of before the remodel!
Something exciting is in the works for above my bed! It’s been empty up there for a year and a half 😂 Also, checkout my stories today. I did a little DIY garland for me tree. I’ll be decorating this weekend so come back and decorate with me! 😘😘

We celebrated my oldest yesterday. I still have a sink full of dishes. Still fighting this aweful cold. Baby is napping so i decided to just sit. Sometimes thats necessary! My littlest birthday is just a few short weeks away. But my brain is shifting to the holidays. Who's ready! What's your fave? I love the togetherness that both Thanksgiving and Christmas bring. Gah so hard to choose, I love them both!

Updated the little seating area a little bit! Swapped out some pillows to make it more cohesive with the rest of the front room.⠀
Love that little ruffle pillow too! A great goodwill find from a couple months back.⠀
And yes, still have my little fabric pumpkins out and about throughout the kitchen and living room. But they are just so cute, I’m not ready to see them go just yet! Soon enough they will be replaced with little bristle trees, once I can convince Jake in the next couple weeks to get the Christmas bins out of the loft in the shop.⠀
Also, what do you think of that burlap rooster pillow? Cute right?⠀
It’s holiday season and yikes, it’s daunting. I have this To Do list that never gets shorter and is always getting longer. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by it, honestly. However, this morning I tried a little suggestion from @msrachelhollis and started my day by writing down some things I’m grateful for... And after finishing my quick list, I sat back feeling thankful for the chaos and even thankful for that dang To Do list. 😂 You guys are keeping me busy and are so gracious with me as I figure this whole small business thing out.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, too, take a minute to list out what you’re thankful for and it may help ya look at your situation from a more positive angle. 😘 Oh, and do yourself a favor and listen to @msrachelhollis’s podcast.
I've been dying to try the antique mirror DIY, but wanted a super cool/unique mirror to try it on. I finally found this unique wood mirror on Craigslist for $15, and of course when I asked Eric to take me to a stranger's house to pick it up, he was like ya, sure let's go. It's not the style of mirror I'd ever pick to go in our house, and when I bought it, I imagined it hanging in the hall over the stairway but it was too small to make its impact. But, I freaking love how the glass turned out, and it took me 32 seconds to find a new place for it to hang downstairs. The only thing she needs now is some Garland to fit in with the rest of the Christmas covered house 😉🎄 swipe to see the before. #diy#antiquemirror#pinterestinspired#rustic#cottagestyle#fixerupper#farmhousedecor#fixerupperstyle#antique#pinterestproject
This is one cozy chic corner and with all this snow on the ground in Colorado today, that warm light and wallpaper look very inviting! @farrowandball you outdid yourself with these tones...
•ALSO, folks-if you follow a portrait artist on the ‘gram that you ❤️...please tag them below! 🙏🏼 I am a fan of @tombamomba...🙋🏻♀️ I’m obsessed with the watercolors she did of my three little pints (kids). Who do you love? 👇🏼
Project #1 is coming along nicely. I am a big believer in using what I have on hand first. Before I hop on amazon or plan to pick something up I think “what could I use instead”. In this case I wanted to make a sign based on one that I saw at Homesense. So I used a tray with a motif that I didn’t love, and craft paint! The only thing I will need to buy for this is painters tape for the gingham print... but I might even see if I can borrow some! Check out my DIY album to see what I am planning to do... instead of “Merry Christmas” I am thinking “Cottage”. Isn’t wood and white so pretty together 😻
0ur First Come Shop With Me Sunday event on the 18th is going to be so much fun! We are starting a wait list for our next outing. Let us know in the comments if you would like to be included on the list.
This sweet little house. I knew when I bought it that it needed a ton of esthetic work. 4 1/2 years and gobs of 💰💰💰 later, it is finally getting its Cinderella story. I still have a wish list a mile long, but we’re finally seeing big changes. 💛

Thanks to @jasonarnoldinteriors and my good friend Bird for their help and guidance. (this before photo was the most recent. I need to dig up the first exterior shot from 2014. Yowza!) #fixerupper#renovation#house#franklin#homesweethome#beforeandafter#cinderellastory
