Who needs to Stretch Out Their Back?!
👉 Child’s Pose is one of the classic stretches and it’s great! Sometime I like to hang out in the Pose but sometimes I like to Move! Give this dynamic child’s pose a try!
Here’s how to perform the dynamic child’s pose!
1️⃣Get down in your hands and knees.
2️⃣Place the hands under the shoulders but you can move the hands up or down depending on what’s comfortable!
3️⃣Push the hips back, dropping the chest and reaching slightly forward with the arms!
4️⃣Hold for a few seconds and return to the starting position!

This year has been the most magical whirlwind ever; with beauty & change, also comes vulnerability and feelings of being completely out of depth.. At the end of my teaching training in India I was burnt out, I questioned my love of Yoga because I was physically drained, mentally exhausted & unknowingly 7 weeks pregnant. From digesting all this new knowledge training in the melty heat, suddenly I was absorbed in morning sickness all the way through until 24 weeks pregnant. I’ve finally finally got to the place where flowing on my mat is the ultimate treat, easing out those areas and getting a solid yet modified practice in that makes my heart happy. This place and this view reconnected me to my adoration of what is YOGA and so far third trimester you’ve been my favourite. #30weeks#grateful#respectcreation#respectitsmagic
Now if women weren't hypersexualized by society it wouldn't be a big deal that my nipples always pop out, it'd be viewed just like a man's chest. But women's bodies have been objects and that body part no longer belongs to me. It belongs to you and everyone else. And so I have to hide it and be shamed and only use my body as society sees fit. And be a toy or object for males. And nothing more.
Not a mother who nourished her children with her body. Don't say that, that's disgusting. Not a female with a menstrual cycle that gives me the ability to create life. No, don't say that, we don't talk about periods, act like they don't happen or you're unattractive to society. My body isn't mine because it is defined by your rules, your laws for it, your use of it.
Doesn't that just sound ridiculous? My body is mine! It is the only thing in this world that is mine. I care for it, respect it and treat it with love despite our society. And I will be damned if you or anyone else thinks that I must teach my daughter a life of shame and objectification. She will be aware of this misogynistic, patriarchal, archaic society and she will be taught to be unaffected by it. What others think or believe does not define me or her or my son.

It feel so good to have a sister group to share with. Although we are sometimes scattered around the world, all walking different paths and at different stages in life, when we are sharing space it feels magical, we feel safe, we feel connected, we hold space for each other, we share tmi, we give space when needed, we celebrate each other, we support without hidden agenda. Blessed to have a tribe of wild women.
Currently we are eating cauliflower and salad on the couch with no pants on watching That’s My Boy (I have no idea, Netflix) so here is a throw back to last weekend when we looked classy AF. Happy Friday, friends!

I feel like I’m 23 again, when I was painting everyday. I used to think those days were over. Silly me. I’m so happy and grateful to have reconnected to the things that feed my soul. Open up, let it flow through. Feel every moment, and smile through the heart.

I love how Instagram has connected me to many people online. I am so appreciative for all the constant love and comments I get on my posts. Lately I have been busy and life has been happening. Sometimes it becomes a bit tough to respond to everyone without making it more of a habit. The reason I have my instagram is to inspire others and to help influence others to follow their dreams. Yoga is a huge part of my life and I find it so important to post regularly with advice and use this form of social media as a journal to show my journey along the way. That being said, I’m really sorry if I’ve hurt anyone’s feelings for not responding to comments on my posts or not engaging as much on here aside from posting time to time. As you know, life happens and I’m so glad that y’all are still here and supporting me every step of the way!
I'm a Space junkie and before you pass judgement upon me, know that you might be one also. That is if you've ever tasted privledge. The luxury of a solitary room, an enjoyable book or a business class seat.
Some may be unable to function effectively without a morning coffee. I'm a bit like that before I've created Space .. Space in the home, Space in my body and often the decluttering of items and often people from the home. Space.. perhaps the drug of choice for us introverts with a come down of Anxiety. I'll take a solitary walk over a busy mall and a sunset before a live concert.
My joyful 3 year old doesn't understand Space.. she's blissfully ignorant to its' addictive pull. My 13 year old, however, I'll say no more other than that she knows Space well.
The townships of my home country in South Africa are my 3 year old... The spacious villas and cars of the UAE are my 13 year old.
With affluence and money come Space and if you're a Space junkie, you'll be familiar with its' less desirable counterpart, Distance.
Distance keeps us on social media over face to face interaction. Distance keeps some of us unhappily single rather than dangerously vulnerable. Distance - creating the problem of opposing connection and conflicting the fundamental principle that 'we are all one'. I don't have the answers to these problems. I can only join the collective cry of the millions or perhaps billions of Beings who cry out "Give me Space but please, please don't add the Distance." Our numbers are unknown because we don't shout it but whisper it with a poker face of utter content.

Today is day 4 of #AugustMudras and we’re coming in with Anjali Mudra🙏🏻 and #UtkataKonasana (Goddess Pose). I was excited to see Anjali Mudra on the list because it’s something that you do in every practice without even really knowing the significance of it. You may find slightly different explanations of this mudra from different individuals, but my favourite I’ve come across is this:
“This gesture signifies the potential for an intention to progress to greatest spiritual awakening. When done properly the palms are not flat against each other; the knuckles at the base of the fingers are bent a little, creating space between the palms and fingers of the two hands resembling a flower yet to open, symbolizing the opening of our hearts.” ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Money is not relevant, you came into this world empty handed you will leave empty handed. What is your impact? ( money will come if you learn to love you by doing you) You don't need to rescue a dog or feed the hungry.(you should) The real question is are you connected to yourself the people around you and the environment or are you walking around like a zombie looking at your cell phone, not saying good morning or afternoon to the people that pass you by? (what are you missing )Are you feaning for attention? Like a lot of people on social media with their lips puckered out altering your pics so that more people like you? Or showing half naked pics of yourself in provocative posses. What for? Why are you doing these things? Who do you need to impress? These questions I find to be very important, because self reflection teaches you weather you are following your own path or someone else's and if you are living a moral or ethical life. If you really want to know who you are you need to examine your environment and the 5 closest people around you, you are them, their energy, their ideas and honestly most people are not aware. You want to find yourself? Look within yourself and your connections, read the book of your life, you are writing a page every day.... When I was in the jungle with the shamans I had a powerful self reflection and I can honestly say it shook me to my core. The way I was living my life made me feel ashamed. It was my first experience in reading my unfinished book and I wanted to burn most of the pages.... I got to experience judgment day before my time came and one day when my real time comes to leave this world... This time I want to hold my head up high. Don't you?
