The face of true exhaustion 🙈🤣 clients trained so thought I’d squeeze in a workout! Slow 6seconds on eccentric squats with pause at the bottom, build up to 8RM, a couple of sets then reduce weight back down slowly. Good mornings 4x10, into continuous sets for 12 minutes, weighted lunges 14kg in each hand, straight into RDLs and repeat for the 12mins (grip was killing) then thrusters with 15kg, 1 on 1 minute then increase reps every minute until failure, I managed 15 but I did go over by 3seconds 😵😵😵 just refuelling before bootcamp and more clients later! Today’s a long one! Just wanted to post to show how red and sweaty I go, not everyone will look amazing and perfect when training although some do! That’s not the point of going to the gym, the point is working hard, smashing some goals and leaving feeling accomplished! 💪 #tuesday#sweatyface#sosweaty#instafitfam#selfimprovement#personaltrainer#instafit#fitfam#fitspo#trainhardorgohome#keepingitreal
🖤Truth is I’ve been pushing my health aside all year long... I’ve been telling myself to toughen up. Even made every excuse not to go to the doctors. Why? Because coming from someone that has always been “fit” and on top of her “nutrition” being sick didn’t really make sense. But, after working long hours at the hospital I would go straight to the gym to get my workout out in and I would almost pass out of exhaustion. That’s when I figured there was more to it. So after ignoring it all year long and not feeling myself (mood swings, unexpected weight gain, acne, migraines, heart burn, nausea and so on) I finally went in for a check up. And even though most of the testing came out negative. A couple of things came back that worried my doctor. So in a couple of weeks I will be doing a biopsy to hopefully get to the bottom of this. Here is to getting back to my old me in no time! 😫🙏

Does the sun ask itself, “Am I good, am I worthwhile? Is there enough of me?” No, it burns and it shines. Does the sun ask itself, “What does the moon think of me? How does Mars feel about me today?” No, it burns and it shines. Does the sun ask itself, “Am I as big as other suns in other galaxies?” No, it burns and it shines. -Andrea Dworkin

Please help me to welcome our newest yoga instructor, Bridget, to the AFL family!! ❤️ Bridget will be teaching a Mixed Level Flow on Thursday evenings at 6pm! Come join us for her first class this Thursday! Remember... your first class is FREE and we are currently offering new members your first month of unlimited yoga/strength classes for just $49!! ❤️ It’s cold outside... come warm up with us! ☺️🙏🏽 Bridget is a 200RYT, and has been practicing yoga for 16 years. She is also a Graphic Designer by trade, so yoga has become an avenue for creativity using our amazing and capable human bodies to create expressive and beautiful shapes.
As an avid and competitive rock climber in Colorado for many years, Bridget came across yoga in the climbing gym she trained in. She was amazed at how yoga brought such ease, fluidity and success to her climbing, so she was hooked.
Bridget teaches a class that helps awaken the strength and power within. She believes that we are all inherently strong, and loves to help guide her students inward to find that strength!
When Bridget is not teaching or practicing yoga, you will find her being a gym rat, playing ice hockey, or playing outside with her husband Aaron, and their two kids and dog.
