DOMS IS REAL today, so it's a rest day for me! Taking days off can be super annoying as I don't know about you guys, but I just sit around wanting to get to the gym all day 😭👎🏼 BUUUUT.. it's sooooo necessary to recover properly to get back in there and smash it again and make optimal gains!! I personally believe in equality of opportunity over this bizarre notion of equality or outcome. Hit your goals hard and break through barriers! 
The biggest fault in progression is not setting a proper goal and mapping out the steps in order to accomplish such goal. When I first started down my bodybuilding journey, I wanted to lift heavy and be that big guy at the gym. What I didn't realize is that powerlifting doesn't quite get you that classic physique as I had hoped. I had to take a step back, assess what I was really aiming for, and create my plan around the goal. It took lightening up the weight, fixing my form, and pretty much leaving that ego at the front door. 
I am still on my journey in achievement, but I at least know I'm on the right path. 
Stephen Covey put it best, make sure your ladder is against the right surface before you start climbing. .

There are many ways to do this. This is how i do it.

1. Shift your weight into one leg, find your balance, and lift the other leg up with the same hand. If your hamstrings feel tight then you might need to work on stretching it a bit more.
2. With control, move your lifted leg to the side. 
3. Slowly lift the leg higher towards the ceiling, keeping your torso as straight as possible.
4. Fetch the lifted leg with your opposite hand, and continue lifting your leg towards the ceiling. 
5. Find and keep your balance with the standing leg.
6. Come out of the pose with control like the way you went into the pose.

Video 1: right leg.
Video 2: left leg.
Video 3: failed attempt.

Notice that my right leg has more flexibility than the left.

You can also do this with your back against the wall for support.

Single arm dumbbell rows are one of my favorite back exercises.  I love the feeling of hoisting that much weight from the ground over and over again.  I also love it because, as you all know, I’m a big fan of single arm exercises in order to prevent or correct any type of muscle imbalances.  Anybody else out there have a favorite back exercise?

I’m a little late posting this, but here is my two month progress photo.  After the one month mark I made some changes to my meal plan and to my workout to enhance my progress and I can definitely see the results.  As always, I am proud of the progress that I’ve made, but I’m also frustrated that I’m not where I want to be.  I’m going to stick with the changes I made for another 4 weeks as I believe they’re working well at this point.  If I feel it necessary, I might make some small tweaks.

I want to stress again the importance of taking progress pictures.  You are used to seeing yourself every single day and that makes it very difficult to see the small changes that happen over time.  If you want to improve then you have to know if what you’re doing is working or not and whether it is working the way you want it to.
