I was about halfway through my workout today and just wasn't feeling it. I was crabby, tired, and my muscles were sore. @ryantarkowski and I typically do 40 minutes of strength training each time (or 30 minutes of cardio if our muscles are exhausted). I had done 25 minutes of weights - leg day - and just wanted to quit. I looked over at the treadmills (I haven't run since I sold my treadmill ahead of our move this summer) and figured I'd just walk the last 15 minutes while my #swolemate finished his workout. Turns out, my feet hit the treadmill, I put some FloRida on, and I ran a mile and a half. AND IT FELT SO GOOD!! Got my sweat on, got my 40 minutes in, and wasn't crabby anymore.  Score! 💪 It doesn't matter how you do it, it doesn't matter how well you do it, just DO it. The only bad workout is the one you don't do. 😁

Bats aren’t blind. Honestly, they’re not. The saying “blind as a bat” doesn’t make sense because they actually see quite well.

Napoleon wasn’t short. He was utterly of average height. (He had an interesting habit of surrounding himself with tall staff members though.)

The color red doesn’t make bulls angry. They charge at the red flag because of the movement, not the color. Wave a blue flag and they’re just as likely to attack.

How do these myths get perpetuated? Faulty assumptions, misinterpretations. Eventually they’re just repeated enough that they sound right.

Same thing happens with nutrition. Wrong information is repeated enough that when you hear the actual truth it doesn’t sound right. Here’re a few important examples:

Myth: To lose weight there are certain foods you can’t eat. Carbs. Fats. Sugar.
Truth: There’s room for all foods in a fat loss diet. Bottom line is take in fewer calories than you burn in order to lose fat.

Myth: If you eat “clean” you can eat as much as you want.
Truth: Calories always count. (And besides what’s the definition of “clean?”) Myth: Eating at night makes you fat.
Truth: A calorie is always a calorie. A calorie at 8AM is exactly the same as a calorie at 8PM

I know that these truths might feel “off” because you’ve heard the opposite for so long. This stuff has you focusing on the wrong things. Focus on total calorie intake. Consistently eat in a calorie deficit & over time & you’ll lose weight. And *that* is not a myth:)

Today's workout was Chest and Back Circuit.  I had two blocks of moves with a total of four chest moves and four back moves with weights.  Each move was 10 reps each and repeated each block three times. .

Then I did a burn out round which consisted of 30 seconds each of regular pushups, back extensions, and then wide pushups.  These were repeated three times also. .

Then I finished up with two ab moves and one of those moves I used a weight with it.  These moves were also repeated three times. .

Today was tough but I got it done!  Here are a few of my moves. .

We don’t think we need to do the work to get through this thing called “life.” I didn’t think the Kavanaugh issue would have such a profound impact on me. It did. Maybe you even listened to them. But I am here to tell you that those mother******’s were wrong. Take that anger that you have and channel it. Channel it into power. Don't just let it eat you. Eat that anger first and spit out success!

Bats aren’t blind. Honestly, they’re not. The saying “blind as a bat” doesn’t make sense because they actually see quite well.

The color red doesn’t make bulls angry. They charge at the red flag because of the movement, not the color. Wave a blue flag and they’re just as likely to attack.

How do these myths get perpetuated? Faulty assumptions, misinterpretations. Eventually they’re just repeated enough that they sound right.

Same thing happens with nutrition. Wrong information is repeated enough that when you hear the actual truth it doesn’t sound right. Here’re a few important examples:

Myth: To lose weight there are certain foods you can’t eat. Carbs. Fats. Sugar.
Truth: There’s room for all foods in a fat loss diet. Bottom line is take in fewer calories than you burn in order to lose fat.

Myth: If you eat “clean” you can eat as much as you want.
Truth: Calories always count. (And besides what’s the definition of “clean?”) Myth: Eating at night makes you fat.
Truth: A calorie is always a calorie. A calorie at 8AM is exactly the same as a calorie at 8PM

I know that these truths might feel “off” because you’ve heard the opposite for so long. This stuff has you focusing on the wrong things. Focus on total calorie intake. Consistently eat in a calorie deficit & over time & you’ll lose weight. And *that* is not a myth:)

Started the day with an early trip to London and ended it with a fab 5k run with @bigcarlrunning. It was great to meet Carl for the first time, a friend to many here on IG and rightly so. Great conversation chatting throughout the run taking in many of the sites around the City of London. Thanks Carl!! Garmin GPS didn’t work... #London is such a faraway place from the Lake District.
