|The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.|
The truth is anyone can be book smart. What do I mean by book smart? I mean mesmerizing facts, formulas, dates, and data by studying and reading about these concepts in textbooks. Seriously it isn’t that hard, it just takes a lot of discipline when it comes to studying and memorization.
However, when it comes to understanding how to apply the knowledge that you acquired is another story. This is where creativity and imagination come into play. Imagination is where an individual’s brilliance comes out by finding loopholes, making new discoveries, and experimenting with new ways of doing things. Look at Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Larry Ellison, all are prime examples of successful people who are considered very bright all because they were able to tap into their creative side, which resulted in the creation of amazing companies and products.
Now, I know these individuals found needs in the world and subsequently built products and companies that would fulfill them. They are the extreme cases of this, so it doesn’t mean that you must be the next one. All that I am saying is to keep in mind this one question every day.
This question is: What is the point of gaining knowledge, if you cannot apply it to everyday situations to solve issues and problems?

Nutrition tip of the day: Do you count your macros? Then follow these guidelines for adjusting your fats and see their effect for yourself!
If you’re training for weight loss, your target intake should be 20-25% of your daily intake. Focus on sources of unsaturated and essential fatty acids such as fish oils, vegetable oils, nuts, seeds, and avocado.
If you’re training for general fitness, your target should be 25-35% of your daily intake. While that might seem high, keep in mind the importance of fat in your diet. It’s essential for energy, protecting vital organs, and transport of fat-soluble vitamins.
If your training is more intense, then bumping up your intake to 30% is best. Choose low-fat pre- and post-workout snacks to allow for better digestion and absorption of protein and carbs.

Booty Blast Thursday has a quick little booty workout that you can either do at the gym or at home. All you need is 1 Dumbbell. If you don’t have a dumbbell, you can do without or use a liter or .500 L water bottle. Perform these three exercises (Donkey Kick, Hydrant and Single Leg Glute Bridge) for 12-15 reps on each side or time it :30 Seconds each side. Do for 3 rounds. —————————————
Muscles working: glutes, hamstrings, hips, lower back and core. —————————————
Set Up For Both the Donkey Kick (exercise 1 in video) and Hydrants (exercise 2 in video): place a 1 Dumbbell Between hamstring and upper calf (behind the knee) and then bend bottom half (heel towards booty) of leg to hold it place (think a little less than 90 degree bend to keep Dumbbell in place). Then get on all fours with palms under shoulders, knees and hips aligned, knees shoulder width apart and core engaged.
Tip***I recommend wearing pants when’s doing these two moves due to placement of the Dumbbell.
Modification for both is to do with out weight.
Set Up for Single Leg Hip Bridge: lying on floor with feet flat with knees and ankles aligned. Dumbbell resting on left hip (side you’ll be working). Lift right leg straight up towards ceiling. While Keeping your head, neck and shoulders on floor, lift hips up until shoulders and knees align and slowly lower back down. Repeat until reps or time is up then do on other side. Modification is to do without Dumbbell/water bottle or to do with both feet on ground (regular glute bridge). If you have any questions, please contact me. This post is really hard for me to share and admit but here goes nothing. I’m going to throw things back to that story I shared a few weekends ago about the woman at work who body shamed me. I saw her yesterday at another meeting and the feelings I felt really truly shook me. I instantly became incredibly self conscious and insecure. I started tugging at my shirt to make sure it was flattering and checking myself out in the reflection on the windows. It was at this point that I had a massive 💡moment. These thoughts and behaviours were NOTHING like me. Who was this person? I’m normally so confident. I realized that I was letting this woman rob me of that and I stopped myself in my tracks. I wasn’t going to let this one negative experience change how I felt about myself. But what I realized is, for the first few moments, I had little control over that. I started thinking again about so many other people who might be experiencing these feelings. Who may have been hurt and who may have been struggling with something very real at the time they were hurt and just what a massive impact other people’s words and judgements can have on us. It is never ok to treat anyone this way or make anyone feel that awful. We are all beautiful exactly the way we are inside and out. Let’s love ourselves. Let’s be kind to ourselves. Let’s support each other and make each other feel good. Let’s NEVER judge anyone. Let’s try to make this world a better place and love each other for exactly who we are. Don’t let anyone rob you of your self love and confidence. You are beautiful and I believe in you. 🖤 #tbt
