👉If your shoulders are rounded forward I recommend getting a shoulder brace like the one I'm rocking here. I got it online for less than 25 bucks 👍
❕Now this one is very restrictive so I don't recommend wearing the entire day.... instead I recommend wearing for a couple hours. If u are wanting one that u can wear all day long then I recommend the one that Posture Medic sells (it's a bit stretchy so u can move more when wearing - it's more for awareness than literally pulling your shoulders back like this one).

Did you know that having different color fruits and vegetables is crucial?  Different colors indicate different nutrient profiles, so focus on getting a little of each color in your diet every day to maximize the nutritional benefits.

For example-red, blue, and purple  Red, blue and purple fruits and vegetables usually contain anthocyanins, and red fruits and vegetables often contain lycopene as well. Anthocyanins have antioxidant properties that help limit damage caused to your cells by free radicals and may also lower your risk for heart disease, stroke, cancer, macular degeneration and memory problems. Lycopene may help lower your risk for cancer and heart disease.  These brightly colored fruits and vegetables often also contain essential vitamins and minerals such as potassium, vitamin A, vitamin C and folate. This is a great exercise for increasing your vertical jump, speed and just overall explosiveness. I added just jumps with knees to chest after to burn out. The box also eliminates most of the shock from the impact of the jump making it better for your joints and bones

Everyone can use this mobility drill which is excellent for our posterior chain. At the TR, we love to throw this in as an active rest between deadlifting sets, as a warm up, or even between push up reps!

Playing around today with my back squats. I did a little analysis of my squat today using @coachseye because I was a little scared to go back to these after I had tried them last year post throwing my hip out. I have been working on my ankle mobility while stretching out my hips using unilateral movements & trigger point therapy over the past few months. I knew my squat had improved since I blew out my hip last year but I still was hesitant to try the movement loaded. It's neat to analyze using the lines to see how I can clean it up! (Ideally you don't want the lines at your shin and back to meet up) Excited to do a bit more mobility work to make this movement a staple. For now back to front squats 😂

I began intermittent fasting about a year ago. It changed my life. During the time I was adjusting to this new lifestyle, everyone around me tried to sabotage me. Not out of malicious intent, but simply because it was not the norm. I’ve learned that those closest to you tend to get uncomfortable when you make certain lifestyle changes. Especially those which will level you up. •

During the process of change, you’re metaphorically shedding your skin; becoming a new person. Why wouldn’t this scare those around you? My parents thought I was crazy, my friends thought it was weird. So I just shut up about it & carried on. •

Soon enough, the results showed. I have never felt better in my life. There were many times in the beginning, before I’d adjusted, where I found myself physically starving. On top of this, I would hear “that’s not healthy... you’re going to get sick... you’re going to lose all your muscle”. But, I kept going. I kept reminding myself why I was doing it & of all the scientific literature I’d read on fasting. I would even rewatch videos or reread articles to remind myself that I wasn’t killing myself. Turns out, I haven’t gotten ‘sick’ since & the muscle is still here, plus more. •
•

Everyone thinks they know what’s best for you. I’m not saying ignore everyone & hard-headidly go about life... but don’t let the outside voices be louder than your inner voice. Sometimes you have to endure the criticism of everyone you love & care about to be the best you can be. Entrepreneurship works the same way... funny. •

Keep on your path & always keep an open mind. Be willing to change, even if it will startle those you hold closest to your heart. They will always love you in the end.

I completely understand man. When I first started lifting I was horribly scrawny and didn’t know what the HELL I was doing.

I felt even worse because everyone else CLEARLY knew what THEY were doing (except the other scrawny kid I bonded from afar with).

But let me tell you 2 things to remember that helped me step outside of my comfort zone in the gym, and in making videos like this to help you:

1. No one gives a fuck.
There might be a nicer way of saying it but the truth is everyone is so wrapped up with themselves and their lives (just like you are) to care or even notice.

So if you look like a fool, no ones really watching for more than a split-second.
•
2. Fail forward. You’re going to look dumb and incompetent, but every failure brings you closer to success (because now you know what NOT to do).
•
In making this videos I stutter and repeat and even confuse myself (lmao).
•
But I’m here to help you gain the confidence and respect you’ve always wanted.

Is that gonna stop me from making a video? HELL NO.

Despite what you have been told or been made to believe, abs are not just for show. These little dudes actually serve a purpose and they better be strong and solid. They function for stabilization, rotation, and flexion of the torso which all impact performance whether that be in the gym or just in daily life! Here are four exercises for a strong 6 pack!

💪 Planks are easily one of my favourites because they can be done anywhere, anytime, and they fricken work. They are effective! There are plenty of progressions to make them harder so find one that challenges you. Tip: "pull" your elbow towards your toes (don't actually move them) and feel how much more your core is engaged! I always reference a video made by @finnbalor on YouTube about it! Search it up and check it out!
💪 Leg lifts are very challenging for a reason. They involve a lot of core strength, but also scapular strength and stability as you have to hang from a dead hang position and use your core to lift your legs against gravity. If you want to make them more challenging, extend your legs and make them straight and get your toes to touch the bar you're hanging from!
💪 L-sit progressions are not just for gymnasts which, by the way, have extremely strong cores! You can do progressions of this exercise to truly challenge your body and core to its limits! Point your toes, straighten your arms and feel the burn.
💪 Compound lifts, when done properly, are so effective for building a strong core. Think about it, one of the functions of your core is stabilization which is challenged when moving heavy objects (e.g. a barbell back squat)! Keep the core tight, brace it through the movement and you'll feel a difference in strength almost immediately!

The most popular version I see people doing of this exercise in the gym is something I liked to call the “jack hammer pushdown”. They lean over the top, elbows flared out, and then they start jack hammering away just as I am showing you now❌

In doing pushdowns this way, you may be able to load the weight up on the stack than you would on a regular pushdown, but you are not getting more work done on the tricep👎🏼

The right way is that you want to get your elbows into your sides and hands away from your body🔑

Having your hands away from your body will make the weight heavier because the bar/rope is further away from the fulcrum point (which is the elbow in this situation)👍🏼

It's the same with calories. If you know you're going to have an indulgent weekend, hold some calories back at the start of the week so that you have more to spend when you want to.

Dripping with sweat after a workout can be a good feeling 😄 especially if you've had a tough day and cleared your head, and many of us like the feeling of being a bit sore the next day, or maybe we like to boast about how long we've spent in the gym🙌 We see these things as a sign of a good workout. But the truth is....they're not👎

Sweating more does not equate to more calories burned ❌ being sore does not equate to enhanced strength or muscle growth ❌ and spending longer in the gym doesn't necessarilly mean your were more productive ❌

The real markers of a good workout are i) improved performance: i.e did you run further, did you complete the distance in less time, did you complete more reps, did you lift a heavier weight etc. ii) improved technique of a given exercise i.e deeper squat iii) You achieve the best result you ever have on a given exercise iiii) any combination of these 3 things! ✔✔✔ these are all signs of progression, signs your are improving and things that you can physically measure, record and compare against

All of these factors could interfere with what you're seeing on the scales and can ultimately lead to you feeling disheartened. A great example of how you can manipulate your reading is stepping on the scales immediately pre and post toilet 🚽 You'll get a different reading that's completely unrelated to anything else other than you have excreted something from the body.

If you are overweight, of course, reducing weight on the scales will be a goal, however, in addition to the scales you should take measuerments, photos 📷, stand naked in front of the mirror and take note of how your clothes fit 👕👖👗 all of these things will help paint a much better picture of your progress than relying solely on the scales.

Well PHA training refers to the way in which you order your exercises, more specifically, alternating between upper body, lower body and core exercises. Example workout...

Alternating lunges
Press ups
Leg raises
Optional cardio exercise i.e starjumps

10-15 reps of each exercise (cardio exercise 30 secs to 1 min)

Alternating between different areas of the body prevents lactic acid build up in any one area, your heart has to work harder to pump blood around the body rather than one area which increases calorie expenditure as well as improving cardiovascular ability. As long as you stick to the template of upper, lower, upper, lower, core - you can sub in whatever exercises you want, which makes it versatile too. You perform each exercise consecutively without rest, performing anywhere from 8-20 reps of each exercise. The weight you put on the bar is governed by your weakest exercise - you should be able to perform at least 8 reps of this exercise with the selected weight and you should be able to safely transition the bar between exercises, for example moving the bar from the floor to your shouders for a squat.
