Are you struggling to really start off your fitness journey with a bang?

Here are a couple of ways to smash your workouts. 🔥

1️⃣Plan your workout before you go to the gym: So make sure you have a list of all the exercises you’re going to do that day and all the sets and reps, this will stop you from constantly stopping in the gym wondering what to do next.

2️⃣Always stay focused: When you’re in the gym or working out keep your mind on the exercise, having the mind/muscle connection helps you train better. Also getting enough sleep before hand will greatly improve your ability to focus.

3️⃣Track your sets, reps and weight used: Progressive overload is important for muscle growth, so if you want bigger muscles to need to be keeping a track of the weight you’re using and the sets and reps so that out can increase them over time as you are getting stronger so that you are always training progressively harder!

4️⃣Don’t waste time: Rest between sets is important, but that rest time should be around 60 seconds, don’t take 5 minutes checking your phone between sets, it’ll make your workout last longer for no reason while making you not work as hard! Not to mention you’ll be hogging a machine for too long!

I’m not gonna lie, I’m gutted. 
ZERO weight loss this week means I’m still on a total loss of • 6 lbs • in 3 weeks.

I’m annoyed because I’ve found myself addicted to the scales again 😡 so I’ve decided that after this week, week 4, I’m going to weigh myself once more, out of curiosity for the month, and then I’m not going to weigh myself until the end of the 12 weeks, again just for curiosity.

Next Monday I am looking forward to measuring my waist and thighs, as I’m certain I’ve lost inches. I can feel it and see it. So I’m looking forward to that as that will give me the boost 🚀

I will measure myself monthly after that.

I will take photos again too so that I can compare.

Today, now, it’s head up and press on. Can’t let those pesky scales deflate me.

I tend to enjoy my sessions more when I stay in one spot, use one piece of equipment and have maximum flow between each movement. I also find this a lot more intense and efficient.

Exercises performed:
▪️ Toe touches
▪️ Leg raises
▪️ Russian twists (lift feet off floor and lean further back to make this more challenging)
▪️ Ab roll-outs (be sure to use a barbell where the ends aren’t locked in/can spin)

Perform 8-15 reps per exercise and repeat 4 times 🙂 I also finished off with 10-15 mins of HIIT intervals on this bike machine thingy (15 secs on and 45 secs off).

You may be wondering why I am so chipper on a Monday morning... well, it is because I quit my job on Friday 😂

I have never quit a job for negative reasons in my life (only ever to focus on my studies). But, in this job I needed to stand up for something. My bosses were horribly racist and came out with some disgusting things. 🤚

On top of that they were awful to me. A few years ago, I may have taken that, but sometimes it is important to know your worth and quit things that are bad for your mental health. Especially when your bosses are so left in the past that they still think it's ok to be racist/sexist etc. 👀

I'm not saying that everyone who is unhappy should just quit their job. If you need the money you obviously can't do that. But, unfortunately bosses that know when someone needs the money can get abusive and use emotional blackmail to control you. 👉

Everyone has gripes in their workplace. However, there are many bosses that cross the line between 'a little bit annoying' and down right abusive. 🚫

✔ Know your rights and use them.
✔ If a job is bad for your mental health, then make a plan to get out. Apply for other jobs, save up some money.. whatever you need to do. 👉

You are NEVER stuck in a job or a life that makes you unhappy. I was only in my job a month but it put me in such a low place. I felt trapped, so unhappy and so disappointed in how people can treat others. NOTHING is worth that 🌟❤
