I don’t really consider myself an anxious person. But lately I’ve been catching myself feeling just not so right. ✨

A little extra tightness in my chest. This heightened sense of something just being “wrong”. ✨

And I think that feeling is straight up anxiety. And it sucks to be honest. ✨

How am I staying healthy during my pregnancy?
1️⃣staying active-pregnancy should be a reason to move more, not an excuse to move less (unless you medically aren’t able)
2️⃣resisting the myth that you’re eating for two! Did you know you only need about 300 more calories a day during pregnancy?
3️⃣keeping my mind right; working on gratitude, graciousness, and mindfulness
4️⃣utilizing the foundation of health and wellness I’ve learned through living the FASTer Way to Fat Loss® lifestyle *
Even though the numbers on the scale are numbers I’ve never seen before, I’m not concerned or worried.  I’m growing a human!  I’m healthy; the baby is healthy; I’m right where I’m supposed to be.

Another day, another nerdy T-shirt. Operation stop being a beluga whale fucking sucks. Everything feels heavy when carbs are lower, the pump isn’t the same, and my real life off of Instagram has been swamped with overtime at work and travel plans and every type of craziness. There are so many days lately that I’m just exhausted and don’t want to train and frustrated when I do because I’m weak. But it’s all a part of the process, and Naruto never gave up so I can’t either 🤷🏻‍♀️

LOW BACK PAIN IS A BITCH!
•
Some of you may know that I went through a low back injury almost 2 years ago and never fully recovered.
•
I went from working out 4-5 days per week high intensity training/heavy lifting to 0 DAYS 🙀 due to my injury.
•
I couldn’t sit or stand for long periods of time for 2 weeks straight.
•
I went to multiple doctors, physical therapists, etc.
•
It all came back that it was a muscle injury..
I was so afraid to workout because I didn’t want to go through that EVER AGAIN 🙅🏽‍♀️
I went into a state of depression because I wasn’t working out and was so focused on not being able to workout like I used to...
Granted I didn’t gain that much weight because I still watched my nutrition but working out is a huge part of my life and how I manage stress!
That state of mind that I was in lasted much longer than it should’ve!
And that year brought other huge stressors in my life.
•
I’m usually good at handling stress because my health was in control but that year I couldn’t handle the stress of everything happening all at once.
I wasn’t in a happy place.
•
I got so sick and tired of feeling depressed and just not happy that I knew I was ready to make a change!
I HAD TO!
For my health, my mood, my relationship, my business, etc.
•
I got back into the gym this year and my focus has been to do whatever it takes to progress and get rid of that pain.
•
I hired a coach to help fix my muscle imbalances, strengthen my core and get me back to the FUN stuff!
•
I just want you to know that everyone goes through struggles! All that matters is that you get back on track and KEEP TRYING!
•
I’ve mixed my training with Pilates Reformers 1x per week to help strengthen my lower abs.
•
Low back pain could be from many different things but here’s where you can start:
1️⃣Nutrition (inflammation)
2️⃣Strengthen your core
3️⃣Stretch! Loosen up those hip flexors!

Transformation Tuesday! A lot of times you look in the mirror day to day and think you're not progressing when you really are.

This is 15 months of progress: April 2017- July 2018.

I thought I was in pretty good shape and muscular around this time last year which is funny to me now looking back at this photo. Just goes to show consistency and small gains compounded over time can yield incredible results! Keep grinding and don't get discouraged! Fitness is NOT instant! You really have to shoot for longer-term goals when it comes to your health and fitness but it is SO worth it when you reap the gains from your labor. 💪🏼
