✨ Energy isn’t given; its made✨
Rough start to the morning. Feeling run down, discouraged, falling short, tired, mentally drained, and this was -AFTER- my morning readings and affirmations.
I had absolutely •Z E R O• desire to get my workout done. Procrastination was at its finest!
The bottom line: the only person in charge of my Energy/Mood is me.
So with every resistant fiber of my mind screaming not to, I put on a happy face 😊(shirt)pressed play and got my workout in.
If you’re feeling in a -f u n k- press through, envision how you WANT to feel, then take the steps to make it happen!

In this sport, it is you against you. After comparing last year’s show pics to this year, I can only say “wow!”, while smiling from ear to ear. I beat that girl and can’t wait to see what more I can achieve. My legs have been my biggest insecurity and being able to see the growth on them along with my glutes is fricken rewarding. -
A lot of credit goes to my coach. With his knowledge and my time, we did this! Working with @jakecampusnutrition has been enjoyable since day one from having options on my meal plan to knowing my body enough that I wasn’t depleted during my preps. I had a slip up this summer and instead of telling me to do better next check-in, he worked with me to find where I was struggling. I used his wife’s @jesscoatecampus training program this summer which definitely helped build me in the right places. They make an amazing team!! Thank you 🙏🏼
As a retired D1 basketball player one thing I can testify to is: it is HARD to stay in shape. I’ve been out of the game for a year and some change and I must admit I’ve struggled with my weight. After I signed my release papers I didn’t pick up a basketball for MONTHS. Lol I was so busy enjoying my new freedom of eating whatever I wanted, going out and not having to worry about maintaining enough stamina to survive a 3 hour practice that my discipline slipped big time. I was able to get away with not exercising for sometime, but after a while I started to recognize differences in my shape, energy level, and other areas. I went from being a lean 172lb to stepping on the scale and almost being 200lb😳
From there I began ease my way back in and for someone who hatesss cardio 🙄it was difficult at first lol. But the more consistency and discipline I showed the easier it became. I am happy to say that I’m currently in a healthier space right now and very comfortable in my body. ❤️ As athletes we are so used to being in shape, our bodies looking a certain way and being able to perform at a high level due to the high demands of our sport. But when there’s no longer a demand for it and other responsibilities begin to tie in, it is easy to fall off in that area. But, just because you fall off doesn’t mean you can’t get right back on! Your body may not look the same, and you might not be where you once were, but that is NATURAL. Your body goes through changes YOU go through changes. You can at anytime take a step back and decide to be better.
Somethings that helped me: •Develop a routine, and stick to it. •workout with friends, support and hold each other accountable •do some research; there is tons of useful info online that can help you. Find what works best for you. •do exercises that you enjoy. •DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS, this is YOUR journey and it is very personal. Theres nothing wrong with turning to others for inspiration but aim to be your best self
•track your progress; take mirror selfies to see how far you’ve come. Send one to bae from time to time 😉
•clap for yourself 👏🏾 •have patience with yourself
Remember YOU determine the results you want. 💪🏽
All up in prep feels : Just wanted to remind myself where it all started almost a year ago when I made the decision to start this journey. Today, I’m looking forward to this next prep, for the next stage, for the bigger goal. I proved to myself I could do it, now it’s time to prove how well I can do it. Coming for the stage with a new mentality, a tougher grind, a better understanding of my body, and a new coach to guide the way. I found out yesterday I’m 138.8 lb of lean muscle which really surprised me; look what I’ve built. It really re-lit the fire to become even more. Let’s get it, the next level starts NOW.
⚠️Warning Long Post⚠️
Lets talk about Body Positivity for a moment .😊 With Compitions going off left right and center. As glorious as it is to go through the process and strive for the best its also just as wonderful to strive for 24/7 sustainable health and strength in both Mental and Physical. .
Now it's been awhile since I posted; myself, as I have been going through a rather tough time with both, I lost a lot of sleep ,constantly stressed and my body just shut down on me. Though I ate healthy and trained to the best I never felt even close to 100% . Shows how hormones can effect you. .
Im currently at the heaviest "weight" I have been in quiet awhile ,adding on an almost 2kg muscle gain and still keeping at a 17%PBF I feel a TON better ,feeling healthier and even more committed to drive that want to building and gain more strength. The only thing that has changed is my GOALS!! Everyones Goals are different and its okay to have set backs, its just a matter of getting right back up and taking 3 steps further than the 1 step back you took. 💪😊 LOVE YOUR BODY AND MIND NO MATTER WHAT,CAUSE ITS THE ONLY ONE YOU GOT. #fitnessinsporation#fitness#mentalhealthisimportant#strengthening#healthier
A new era of #WatchKelseySweat is coming ...
Chub rub, and
Out of shape heavy breathing
... are all welcome.
BUT FIRST ...
let me lounge & eat my way through this epic southern road trip we're currently on ...
Decide. Commit. Succeed. 🙏
I actually got a little annoyed with myself I didn’t take this pic earlier when we ALL know the tummy looks best in the mornings. And then I realized... Jess you’re dumb! 🤦🏻♀️ This is what you look like and look at all the hard work you’ve put in! 💕
One thing I can say is I’m incredibly proud of myself. I don’t even honestly know what I weigh right now and I don’t care at all! I feel so comfortable in these jeans! I used to try wearing them and wear loose tops to hide what I really looked like and it squeezed my stomach and was the worst. I remember taking that first photo. I was doing EVERYTHING in my power to suck in and look thinner. Oh lord. I’m walking around this evening in these and I’m just so happy. Maybe I don’t need to buy new jeans after all 😍
If you’re feeling stuck, do not give up!! I have been where you were and stopping will not speed up the process! If you need help that’s what I’m here for friends!
October 🎃 bootcamp enrollment is open! Link in bio. We can go down this journey together! (Sang that in Anna’s voice lol thanks frozen) ❄️ Happy #transformationtuesday 🌟
My goal for October 🍁 is to try something new each week! (Who knows, this may turn into a few months/year/lifetime goal). Continuing to peel back the layers and learn more about myself 🖤 .

This week, I am doing my first ever trivia night 🍿 #meangirlstrivia yeah, may not sound crazy, but it’s new to me and I’ve always wanted to try. Especially after the episode of The Office 😂
“Be fearless in trying new things, whether they are physical, mental, or emotional, since being afraid can challenge you to go to the next level.”

Who’s with me!? 🙋🏼♀️ Even if you “got off track” last weekend - don’t beat yourself up over a treat or not eating 100% the way you feel you should have. I believe in eating well AND enjoying sweets!! 🍎🥑+🍩🍬=🙌🏼 It’s Monday, focus on eating healthy and getting stronger!! Woot woot! 👏🏼💪🏼
CONFESSION: I was too lazy to workout yesterday! I'm all about listening to your body, but this was just pure laziness. I made every excuse in the book...I didn't sleep well, got my flu shot so my arm hurt...excuses, excuses, excuses! So, this morning, I got myself up and put in the work! We all have days like this, it's what you do the next day that really matters. Don't let one slip up ruin it all! ♥️
