Starting Over: Now I've to admit I've not been on top of my game."Barely holding it together but puts up a good front" are words used to describe me from my Dr... This is true. The last few months I've struggled and have lost the importance or "Self Care" neglected it more ways that one and taken care of everyone else around to make happy. After such a large time with ups and downs and things held inside for so long I'm starting to feel a lot like my old self. Healthy,💯comfortable,confident,Strong and colorful.May just be my caps 😄and the weather.
It took alot to realise Self Care was much more important than I thought for myself and It really is the foundation of reaching your future goals and dreams. Take care of yourself so you can take care of others.
Yes! Have I been smaller, had less wrinkles... looked better... yes... but at almost 39 I’ve honestly never felt better in my own skin. I don’t think I’ve ever been stronger or more fit and I still feel like I’m just beginning my fitness journey!

🕵🏽♂️ What I’ve learnt from Deficit training, it’s just another variation that makes the pull from the floor that aids the first part of the pulling movement. With deficits, so long as it is a reasonable deficit, it merely forces you to establish an ever tighter starting position to allow for a strong pull, if you are looking the strength the bottom position, this allows more T.U.T (time under tension) this is because the bar is lower in than normal bottom position set up.
📑 Deficit deadlifts are an effective deadlift variation to increase leg and back strength, improve setup and body poisoning specific to pulling movements, and enhance overall deadlifting performance with lifters who express sticking points at the onset of the pull and or lack general pulling strength
1) Better Set Up
2) Stronger Leg Drive
3) Improve Lower Back Strength and Position
4) Greater Acceleration off the floor
👨🏽💻 Programming deficit deadlifts can be done in a similar structure as any other deadlifting movement, with the understanding that the longer ranges of motion and less than ideal starting angle will typically decrease the amount of weight a lifter can move relative to the regular deadlift
programming deficit deadlifts, sets and reps can be kept the same as in regular pulls, however training percentages are often 5-15% lower than the regular deadlift.
Laughing at how sore we are with this new program. Don’t get me wrong, I was that girl who hated on at home workouts... Especially since I was an athlete in college and was in the gym all the time. I never thought you could actually get a good workout in at home, but shoot dang I’ve been proved wrong! 💪🏻

💥 RAW. TRUTH. 💥 LONG POST 💥 Here we are fit fam, ONE WEEK post show. My first show in February I gained 18 lbs FOUR days after my show. Currently, I am 4.4 lbs above stage weight (156.8) and i am so fucking proud of myself. Yes, I ate like an asshole for a few days after my show but I still did my cardio, I still did my lifts and I was as consistent as possible with my meals (still cheating here and there) but CONSISTENT. I am obviously not as dry or lean as I was when I was on stage but that’s just part of competing, it’s not normal to look like that 24/7 365. So yes I AM reversing for everyone asking why I’m still doing 2 hours of cardio, it’s shitty as hell but necessary and in line with my goals for the future. If you are competing for the first time please please please make sure you have guidance and someone to help you reverse and keep you accountable, you don’t want to ruin everything you worked so hard to achieve. So thank you @ifbbpro_meriza for keeping me accountable, help me not be so hard on myself and guiding me through this reverse. P.S I get carbs next week and cardio is lowered so I am happy 🙌🏻😊 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Some days are hard. Some days I don’t want to workout, I just want to watch Netflix and eat Cheetos and ice cream. Today was one of those hard days. I had every intention of working out and getting stuff done around the house. But when I heard that my parents were putting our childhood dog down today that all got pushed aside. I was heartbroken.
But instead of using it as an excuse I used my workout to distract me for a little and still made it a priority. It wasn’t easy and I even stopped a few times. But I got it done and that’s what matters.
I used to tell @nat_paul2.0 “One day I just want to be able to do REAL pull ups”. As of last week I finally figured out I could do real unassisted pull-ups/chin-ups and was so excited I couldn’t even stand it. My form probably sucks and I can’t do many, but 5 of these is a lot more than 0 😆😂💪🏼 #pullups#soexcited#strong
