Why do we fall for this; get sucked in by the word “challenge”; want so badly to conform to a VERY narrow image of “fit”?? I know exactly the demographic this is aimed at - women; more specifically postnatal women. It’s another way to say “Get your pre-baby body back!” Mamas 🤱🏻🤱🏾🤱🏽🤱🏼🤱🏿 1. Your current body is never going to be your pre-baby body (AND THAT’S OK 😀) 2. Your current body is the body that grew, carried, and birthed a HUMAN (HONOR THAT!) 3. Is losing your “muffin top” YOUR top priority? Or the fitness industry’s? Or society’s? (🤔) I’m all for a woman reaching toward her own goal AND I know from spending years in the health and fitness industry, our goals are often shaped by the noise out there more so than our own desires.

What I'm getting at here, is you may have noticed that some of those people go to the gym  all year and stay looking pretty much EXACTLY the same. "Well at least they're doing something rather than nothing at all" some of you may say.

To that point, I would agree that activity is better than inactivity to a certain extent when it comes to improving your health.

The caveat is, if you continue to do the same thing over and over again without progression, your body will adapt to it that activity so that it becomes easier. "Easier" means less calories burned and less of a stimulus for muscular growth.

I've never met anyone who had "too much" muscle, "too much" strength, or "too little" fat.

The bottom line is this: There is always room for improvement. Anything you do, do it with the purpose of incremental improvement.

For the time, effort, and money you spend going to the gym, make it worth your investment.

Stated a little differently, don't confuse purposeless activity for purposeful action.

All you have to do is get two of the smallest pillows in your house, cover them in a plastic bag (this has two effects as you're making sure you don't ruin your pillow and it makes it more slippery to use!)
The exercise that we're carried out is
1️⃣ Side lunges
2️⃣Mountain climbers
3️⃣Plank with arm extension

I performed each for 30 seconds and you can do it how many times you want!

Weight fluctuations in the form of a gain used to send me into a tailspin.  I can't say I am over feeling a bit bummed out when my weight is up but it is still such a different experience than when I was spending so much time punishing myself for my weight. 
I had back surgery in July followed by 9 weeks of extremely restricted activity under doctor's orders.  I didn't go overboard but I pretty much continued to eat like I always do and enjoyed my summer activities that involve food like camping and travel.  I could tell by the way I felt and my clothes fit that I was up about half a size.  When I was able to go back to my normal workouts I saw a few pounds come off but shortly after that ended up with a seriously angry hamstring and IT band.  I'm in physical therapy and it so happens that my rear decided to continue the vacation and let the downstairs neighbors, the hammies, do all the work.  No bueno.  My activity plans are once again derailed for a short period of time. 
Instead of panic, I'm looking at my options on how I can address this and still feel good about myself and life.  I've decided to make a few adjustments to my diet (less calories in my morning coffee, upped my fruit and veg intake in place of some of the carb foods I have when I'm more active, slightly smaller portions as hunger allows) and spend time stretching and walking.  Our weather is amazing this fall and walking outside is good for morale, my body, my dogs, and my mental health! 
No quick fix, no crash diet, no over-exercising for punishment.  It certainly isn't as sexy as some mad plan to lose weight quick but if those plans worked, the diet industry wouldn't keep coming up with new ones all the time.
