A good start to a good pull day 👌🏽
Since I started really planning out my push/pull/legs split I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my efficiency in the gym (and progress). Preparation and planning really makes going to the gym and nutrition simpler and less stressful. Something i’m figuring out more and more every day.
I hope everyday has a great weekend💓 I finally finished midterms and to celebrate I did some cardio and it was tough because I haven’t done any in awhile but I’m starting @sarahs_day #sweatittoshredit back up and starting from where I left off, week 4💪🏻 I feel really good today and I hope every has a chance to go sometime this weekend and kill it!✨💓🏋🏻♀️
Let’s talk about water 💧💧
It’s common knowledge we all need to drink “enough” water. Being dehydrated makes you feel crappy, causes health issues, and for athletes it can majorly impact game performance. This probably isn’t news for anyone, but what if I told you without being sufficiently hydrated, you won’t burn fat or build muscle? Even for the average Joe! Water is anabolic (aka growth aka a good thing), and is literally the MOST important molecule for building muscle and burning fat. It is the foundation of all things we ingest (which isn’t a surprise since we are 2/3rd’s water). So how can we expect to reach our full fitness goals, or any goals at all without sufficient water consumption?!
Well now the question is how much do we consume? This isn’t a simple question to answer, because there are a bunch of variables like: Age, gender, height, weight, activity level, type of activities, genetics, how much you sweat, what other drinks you consume, your sodium intake, etc... So unfortunately there’s no clear cut answer. That said, the common advice for the average person is to go by the 8x8 rule. 8, 8 ounce glasses of water, for 64 total ounces per day. I would challenge this advice and say most of us need more, especially if we want to be as healthy as possible, build muscle, and/or lose fat. After researching a bunch and looking at what has worked for me, you should cut your body weight in half and that’s about how many ounces you need per day at the minimum! So for me I weigh about 220 lbs, I need at least 110 Oz of water per day🚰... One other thing to remember is the color of your pee, and if it’s yellow AT ALL, you need to have more water. Clear is the goal. —————
This may sound like a lot to have in a day at first, but I advise spreading it out and once it becomes habit, it’ll become effortless. Cheers to drinking more water! 💦

I feel a lot of times in life people shy away from “odd combinations.” Whether it’s grits + maple syrup, punk rock + tiaras, or bi-racial couples...there will always be opinions. You might even find that you have an opinion you don’t necessarily want but were raised to think that way, or just developed the thought as a kid. The good news is: you’re not stuck thinking that! We always have the power to change our opinions into something that’s in line with our values and what we actually WANT to think. So maybe try taking a step outside your comfort zone and see where it takes you!! I can guarantee that, if anything, you will learn something. •••
And yes, I tried cereal + broccoli. I threw some melon, mixed nuts, a little lemon dressing in there...and it was great! Just like you don’t HAVE to follow certain social constructs, breakfast foods don’t HAVE to be breakfast foods.
