My oldest leaves the house at 4:30 pm on Tuesdays and doesn’t get home until almost 10pm.  So what to do about food?  I want her to have something nutritious before all of that training so I choose to make dinner early and then the rest of us can reheat later if we don’t want to eat at 4:00pm (which I don’t).
Only took about 20 minutes to prep and really no skill here other than not chopping your finger off 😂

Yesterday I got out and ran with my beautiful daughter, and my brand new, blue tooth Jaybird X3's. I have been really busy (and productive 😉) lately, that I haven't had the chance to pound dirt (or in this case pavement) in the great outdoors. Which is why it felt SO good to get out and run again. Even though it was 2pm, and stinking HOT. 😬 The Real Feel temp was 103°! 😵🔥 Which is why my new X3's are my new favourite buds - they powered me through that run! 😍🎧🎶🙌 Then I did my regular workout in the ZGYM (the L-stand hand stands were my faav). My daughter called me crazy. And I said, "Girrlll. That's the way I roolllll!" 😂💪👟👟

We are all running around trying to be super mom, but road blocks remind us everyday (sometimes in the form of loosing our patience or forgetting a task), that we will never be perfect!  We need to let go of that ideal, give ourselves a break and do our very best at just loving our kiddos!  I promise you will be super mom in their eyes! 😍

I almost quit on myself, again.

The picture on the left, was one year ago today. Faking a smile for the pictures. Feeling the self-doubt, the pain, and the emotions that all go along with post-op recovery. It was  overwhelming. I could feel myself falling back into the funk and the rut that I was in before starting this journey. I started into the downward spiral of depression.

Then the messages started pouring in. The messages from my clients. The messages from other women that were in my Wellness Group that I would never have had the privilege of knowing had we not embarked on this journey together. 
My coaching tribe surrounded me and visited me daily. They brought my family food. They came to visit me. They did not give up on me. They would not let me give up on myself again. And for that I am forever grateful, and I WILL  continue on this journey and Inspire other women and Mama's to do the same. 
I WILL NOT GIVE UP ON YOU 
Do not give up on yourself.

For all you busy moms out there, that have all the excuses as to why you cannot put your own Wellness first, I beg of you, look at your little ones. Do you want them to grow up with those same feelings and not love themselves first? 
As moms, we want the best for our children. Shouldn't we be showing them what  that looks like? If we aren't setting the example for them, who is?

Sharing another raw photo. To me, the first pic is grotesque.  That's how I felt about myself. Starting a fitness journey seems hard and scary. You'll find any excuse not to start. Don't have time or $$ to invest in yourself, kids, eating healthy is expensive (it's really not), dont want to  cut out favorite foods etc. Take the time, spend the $$, buy the healthy foods. In other words... INVEST IN YOURSELF. I can show you the way... when you're ready.

ANXIETY on HIGH this morning😩 I seriously was having conversations in my head while still in bed, back-and-forth.  I could skip today’s work out, I could do it tonight, I could do it tomorrow. BUT I know better!!! The best thing I did was press play! It was not easy to start, but once I got my mind focused on Joel😍 I was good. 
Day 2 back and bi’s💪🏼 While doing those darn tricep pushups yesterday I was thinking boy I really got this pumpkin muscle that is popping. I NEVER had muscles like this!! In today’s workout while doing those wide raises I could SEE that muscle☺️ It’s the little things that add up to big results!! It’s taking time to get where I am, but I always say, the time is passing anyways😉 
By the way, I FINALLY bought a pair of gloves, WHY did I wait so long??? still time to join me,link in bio😊

Day 23 and I am sweating up a storm this morning. Back and bis oh my!💪🏻 Lifted the same weights as last week with the exception of traditional rows. I thought I was smart and increased from 10s to 15s. Yup maybe not so smart lol. 
It maybe called back and bis but hold cow my quads and hammies got quite a workout too😆

The difference between the pics is about 5-6kg. After watching the Olympia this weekend I am super excited to get back on stage again. I like to be lean and the weight gain in the off season has been challenging - however, sometimes one has to take a step back in order to move forward. I make an attempt to cook things for my family that can be easily modified if need be.  I don’t have time to be cooking 2 separate meals 🙃. So the dish on the left is Pad see ew which is a Thai dish made with rice noodles.  Since I try not to eat carbs for dinner, I made the same dish but with butternut squash noodles.  Those are on the line between carb and veggie but they sure tasted great in this dish. 
And remember, pasta alternatives come in many forms and preparations to make it an easy change out for you when cooking!

The way he smiles, laughs, talks, his cry is even different.. The way he walks, his confidence is growing. He has a heart of gold and could talk your ear off in a minute. 
He is starting projects at this age cutting things out and restuffing plushies and creating new ones.  Lol
Encouraging is the only thing I know to do now and I love every stage of his little adventures and what may seem small to me is huge for him. Fly baby fly, but always come back.. ❤

I was in desperate need of motivation today. I haven’t been feeling my best the past couple of days and already skipped my workout for more days than I wanted. 
It’s tough enough on good days, working out on hard days is easy to make excuses. I knew I felt well enough to do it but my mind was trying to talk me out of it!

Woke up feeling tired (again) despite having had a full night of rest and I know it’s from a combination of missing my b-12 shots, eating out too much last week, and alcohol consumption... the last 2 aren’t typical for me, and they leave me feeling a bit toxic 👎🏼, HOWEVER...
.

I got myself to my gym today and gave my first 2 circuits my all (C1 & C2 were amazing!!), then did a few favorites from C3. I feel so happy & accomplished that I did it AND that I was able to do 8 reps of dumbbell presses with 30lb weights +  cable rows at a max weight of 130lb today! I can tell I lost a bit of strength in my upper body with so many missed workouts the last couple weeks, but even with that I’m happy with my progress & not letting it get me down. Can’t wait for lower body this week—I’m hoping to go for two lower body workouts, actually. 😉

I love listening to loud music when I drive. It brightens my mood, and helps me to feel good. As a result, my foot has a lead tendency. I'm not saying this is a good thing. It can be dangerous. You have to mind your surroundings, and be watchful. As it is, I just kick into "happy gear," and let my subconscious take over. Driving feels as easy as breathing, I don't even have to think about it.

High on happy feels, with my iTunes library blasting in my superior, hot, not blinged out 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan, I swing into the long driveway of my favourite treasure huntin' haunt. I was supposed to meet my fabulous friend, Katie, at 10:30, and I am already running late.

Music jamming, wind in my hair, I whistle past a woman on the curb, who yells, "Slow down!"

Oh man. She sounds pissed. .
.
Happy feels gone!

I pull into park, and look around for the blonde haired gal. She is nowhere in sight. But I have a feeling that she is inside the warehouse I am headed to.

Oh boy.

Happy feels gone + potentially angry stranger + her and me in the same vicinty = not a very tasty recipe!

I get out, lock the car, and proceed towards the building.

And I spot her. She is speaking with Dave, the owner of my favourite treasure haunt.

I run a quick check on my feelings... I feel a bit annoyed (my ego). How dare she tell me what to do. Especially when I was feeling so good! .

What am I going to do? Walk past her, stare her down? And continue avoiding her while in the same building, all the while allowing negative energy build?

Failing to plan is planning to fail so they say.  For me, meal planning is an integral part of keeping my family’s nutrition on point.  Trying to get through a busy week without a plan just leads to disaster for me.  So instead, I sit down for a couple of minutes and plan out meals and what I’ll need from the grocery store for the week.  Meals get cooked, family eats well, less wasted food in the refrigerator.  That’s winning in my book!😁

Today’s workout was hard. I felt like crap from poor food choices over the weekend and I didn’t sleep well because of bad dreams which is unusual for me.  I didn’t let it stop me though I pushed through and got it done. Make it a great day!

I had a weekend of soccer.  7 soccer games to be exact.  A sleep over for one kiddo Friday night and another on Saturday night.  I was gone from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm today.  And tomorrow’s Monday. Surprise!

I am tired and a little sunburned but I really had a great time watching my kids play this weekend.  It’s part of that Mom life.

And I really feel that I do this Mom thing better now.  Why?  Well, it’s surely not because it’s easier (teenager in the house😜). I believe it’s because I have a replenishing source in my life now.

I had a weekend of soccer. 7 soccer games to be exact. A sleep over for one kiddo Friday night and another on Saturday night. I was gone from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm today. And tomorrow’s Monday. Surprise! I am tired and a little sunburned but I really had a great time watching my kids play this weekend. It’s part of that Mom life. And I really feel that I do this Mom thing better now. Why? This is the only time our family will be rooting for the Vikings and the Steelers during football season. My two boys made me proud on the field today with back to back games in this 90 degree heat. My oldest had a long run in for a touchdown and my youngest had a nice run and an interception. Three big plays of their games. ❤️🏈 .

You see while visiting Boston this weekend we went to the church Brian attended as a med student. The pastor that married us 15 years ago gave the sermon. 
Before we got married I was a Guide Dog Instructor, living in New York. 
5 years later we had 2 daughters and were moving to Indiana. 
10 years later we purchased our second house and settled into life in Cincinnati. 
15 years later both my parents have passed away. We are on dog #4. Girls are 13 & 10. I get to stay home but also empower others to reach their health goals as an accountability coach. 
I never could have predicted this change in careers, but this opportunity has been a blessing. • You can stay accountable to a healthy lifestyle. • You can have a life purpose helping others get healthier. • You can have a flexible schedule & be home for your kids (plus continue this job if move) • You can earn extra money • You can find a supportive, positive, FUN community.

Practicing my handstand strength with SHOULDER SHRUGS. 😳  Eventually, I want to be able to hold a handstand for 60 seconds (using the wall to lean against). First day I could barely hold for 5 seconds, so these shrugs felt like such an accomplishment to me. 😂 #fitnessmotivation #fitmom #fitmomover40 #handstandshouldershrugs

Sounds like a match made I. Heaven for a girl with #crohnsdisease and #cervicalcancer getting ready to head into another surgery in a few days.  Taking time to bring focus to healing as I face this challenge and heal my body.  The last few weeks have been a insane roller coaster from not being able to get out of bed to slowly finding strength.  I’m grateful for the chance to move my body before surgery on Wednesday.  I have orders for no exercise for 6-8 weeks after that but the mindfulness of yoga is never off limits. 🧘🏼‍♀️
I’m amazed at how far I’ve come with this pose.  When I started my hips were so tight I couldn’t get anywhere near the floor.  But that’s what I love most about #yoga.  It’s all about the individual connecting to where they are in their personal journey... the way life should be.  #nevercompare

This is my happy place! It is nice to get away for some alone time as a couple. We don’t do it nearly enough because as we all know life gets in the way. 
But this made me realize we definitely want a house/condo something on the beach someday. It is a lofty goal but it is totally doable. Building my online business can get me there. Just need to put in the work and consistency and show up everyday.

Same thing as working on your health and fitness journey. So doing both side by side is an amazing way to achieve your goals financially, physically, and mentally.

It's a perfect 10 outside today...I'm trying to stretch out my legs to see if it helps with my nerve pain...it seems like I may have some nerve damage in my left leg and my toes are numb all of the time. Having an EMG done in the next couple of weeks. Has anyone gone through this? I'm a very active person so it's hard that I've been slowed down as of late. Well it wouldn’t be a normal race for me if something didn’t go wrong.  And it wasn’t the uber because I drove..... Went to bed last night and had a good night’s 😴. Had my ear buds charged phone charged, energize an hydrate.  Headed into St. Charles and I saw a couple holding hands and their bags from packet pick up....I forgot my bibs and tracker!!!! Totally pulled a u turn on North Ave and floored it back home! 
Made I back safely, grabbed the stuff and headed back. 
Great race—loves seeing all the pretty houses.  Didn’t like all the twist and turns!  At about mile 10 I felt like I wouldn’t finish.  It was really tough.  I just kept thinking of my kids’ faces when I crossed the line and beating my previous time. 
By mile 11 I felt better.  At mile 12 Sean calls
to ask me where to the starting line is 🤣😳🤪😳 Mile 13 pushed with all I had.  Crossed the line and forgot to stop my time.  When I remembered, I still beat my old time by 6 minutes 👊🏻💪🏻👏 So a great race overall.  So happy to see my family at the end!
