•13 weeks Post Op from having two Herniated Discs in my lower lumbar, I am back to Deadlifting! Now if you know my story, you know this was the VERY thing that caused my injury/absence! Building the courage to step up to this bar was NOT easy! I legit kept saying “I’m scared!” But look at God! I can do ALL things💯 This is New Beginnings for sure!! Set your goals and work for them! It's been almost 3 months since I gave birth to my second child. I can't believe how I've changed. 
First month was so difficult. I was broke. I had to deal with so many feelings. I had to accept the fact that sometimes things don't work out. That probably I'll be alone with my children for a long time. I learned that happiness comes from within. That I don't need nobody to be complete. At first I had to get used to take care of 2 babies, a newborn and a toddler. Then I started to live the moment and worry less, everything got easier.
When I could and felt ready to workout again I found a new happy place. I committed to myself. Everyday I make time for me. For my mental and physical health and I couldn't be happier. 
I know for sure I'll be the best version of me, even if I had 2 pregnancy in 3 years, even if I have to deal with everything alone, even if sometimes I'm tired or lazy. I'm doing this for myself and nobody else.

Have you heard of at home work outs before? Do you think they don’t work? Do you think they’re not as tough as the gym, CrossFit, boot camps? Yes, they all work.  But they work if you want it to work.  I have been consistent with my at home fitness programs bc that’s what works for me.  I work out in the morning, I do not have to drive anywhere. The fact that I work Full time, and that I am not taking time away from my family.  Do I do this alone, yes, I do, most of the time.  But just this week , we started a No Snooze Group! A bunch of fellow coaches and customers started getting together via Zoom, a conferencing website.  And we work out together , meaning together but separately.  Know what I mean? Lol!  While I have been working out in the morning these past couple of years, there’s nothing more exciting starting a new program, planning an outing together , and now, working out together in the morning.  They get me excited to work out in the morning, bc I know they’re there waiting for me.  We pump each other up, and we support each other.  And that’s what this is all about.  Having a community of like minded people. 🗣 Listen close. Did you know that the more lean muscle mass you build, the more calories you burn AROUND-THE-CLOCK? Yep! Even sitting and binge watching Hallmark Christmas movies. (Not that I would know anything about that.) 😳

The unfortunate misconception about weight training is that lifting weights will make you to muscular. Females DO NOT have high enough testosterone levels “naturally” to develop the same amount of musculature as males.

There are  great benefits of both cardio AND weight lifting...however, cardio will help you lose weight, but at a price; You lose fat AS WELL AS muscle. 👎🏼 To be honest you become a smaller version of your current self. The beautiful part of weight lifting is you can COMPLETELY reshape your body. Lifting will raise your metabolic rate, promote greater fat burn and help give more definition when the body fat comes off. Resistance training along with a well thought out, strategic nutrition plan will help you lose body fat and improve those beautiful curves that us ladies are blessed with. 🙏🏼

I get TONS of questions on how to gain lean muscle without touching weights for fear of getting “big and bulky.” Getting bigger is a direct result of your caloric intake NOT what type of exercise regimen you choose. 🤯

The other day I did elevated planks with oblique crunches along with some other exercises (posted in story) to finish my workout. Y’all I was TIIIEEDD! My stomach still slightly cones when performing strenuous exercise, hence modified planks. I still practice deep breathing like I did when pregnant. It has not only helped with labor (in addition to staying active), but it has also helped me during my postpartum journey w/ reconnecting my abs, and with any anxiety I may feel day to day💪🏾

(**And now I'm more committed because I can do it ANYTIME & ANYWHERE).

My workouts have changed SO MUCH throughout the years. I used to run cross country in high school, so when I initially started going to the gym I would run on the treadmill for about 30-60 mins and call it a day. I knew absolutely nothing about weight training nor core exercises and felt like I needed a change to jumpstart my workouts.

Fast forward to today⏩ I exclusively take classes- I love HIIT & cycling workouts and exercises that solely focus on the core. I love the motivation & encouragement that come from classes and that no workout is ever the same! .

Just got off the phone with one of my 2B Mindset clients who had the best quote during our conversation. “I’m 38 and I’m just now realizing I have to work hard to get what I want.” When she said this to me it was like a slap-in-the-face moment. ✳️We know we need to put in the hard work to be successful at our jobs. ❇️We know we need to put in the hard work to make sure our homes operate like clockwork. ✅We know we need to put in the hard work in our relationship with our spouse and significant other to keep that relationship flourishing.

So why do we never think about the fact that we need to put in the hard work to get what we want for our own health?!?!?! Let me tell you about the hard work she was referring to...
📱It was getting off of social media so that she would have time to prep dinner rather than grab something out. 🥘 It was planning out her meals for the week instead of winging it.
🍪 It was tracking her food, even when she ate that cookie and pizza on Sunday. 
And you know what? This person lost 7.6 lbs this week!

I remember contemplating for weeks and finally had a chat with Coach Orlando (Mr Aries himself) he said “go ahead do it, you have my full support”. You see I was afraid if I started a class maybe people won’t show up etc. But we started it and clients showed up most days. Little did I know, that was just the beginning.

Today I’m glad for the push from him, and all those close to me. Since 2016 to now “Flexi Time” became “Flexi Strength” and I continue to instruct and teach these ladies that they too can have strength and mobility at any age. 
In less than 2 months it will be 1 year since I’ve been with them. They love it so much that we had to add a Wednesday class as well🙃

But while I'm learning, my waist has been shrinking📏, and my smile growing😁. I think these pictures clearly display just that. I'm learning to love the skin I'm in. Do I have perfect abs?! Heck no! Y'all, I'm a human, and a momma, there is still loose skin, but I'm so happy to be me. To have this body that I do.

When I was younger my workouts were focused on burning enough calories or looking good in my jeans. As I’ve gotten older the focus has shifted. It’s no longer something I do as punishment for “eating bad” but a reward for my mind and body. An opportunity to replenish myself, to ward off stress, and to feel grounded again.

Had another horrible night of sleep but still woke up early to make sure that I was able to spend some quiet time in some Bible study. Seriously love my morning time. It’s the only time where I get some quiet and I’m refreshed and focused. Got in a killer leg workout after and now I am enjoying being able to sit and be warm before needing to head to work!! Thankful today is an early release!! -

First I had like 0 motivation kidding you not, all I wanted is to be on a desert island 🏝 sipping margaritas under the sun ☀️, who’s coming with me say I 😂.
And I talked a lot, apparently i had a lot to say today, 😂, my mouth couldn’t shut itself, one of those days guys, one of those days, and hormones are not helping one bit. 
Managed to complete the legs and glutes day the best I could I even managed to record some of it.

#fittip of the week is MOVE your BODY! 🏃🏻‍♀️ I know, I know....this time of year is tough to get to the gym, go to your favorite class, etc. 🏋🏻‍♀️
But guess what?

To move your body, you don't need a gym or a group class.  All you need is you and your body.  Here are 5 ways to move your body without missing a beat this holiday season:
🎄
1.  If you NEED your gym/fitness class, get it done in the AM.  This allows you to enjoy the rest of the day, go out with friends on a whim and give you energy throughout the day!
☀️ 2.  At work, take a BREAK!  Walk around the block.  Walk up and down the stairs, walk anywhere even if it's to get coffee....but get up and move!

3.  Baking?  Play your favorite tunes and dance in the kitchen while mixing ingredients.

4.  Wrapping gifts?  Stand while wrapping and again play that music and move to the beat.  Also, wrap away from the tree so each time you wrap, you need to walk to put it under the tree.

5.  Instead of going out for dinner and cocktails to celebrate, maybe take a class or do something active with your loved ones...and then go out for those cocktails!

Fitness should be FUN!! That’s why in my online accountability group this month, we are having a fun little contest called the “12 Days of Fitmas” 🎄🌟 because I mean, doesn’t everybody want a Happy New Rear? 😉 When I saw this shirt online I couldn’t resist. 
But seriously, when you make it fun, that’s how you stay motivated. And December is a tough month to keep on pushing to do something for yourself. I get it!! There are parties and concerts and activities and you name it... the list goes on. But exercise is a HUGE stress reliever. 🙌🏼 So if you can find a way to make it fun and squeeze in even 20 minutes of activity, you’ll be so much better off. Take a walk 👟 , dance 💃🏼 to your favourite Christmas tunes or do a few of your favourite resistance moves 🏋🏼‍♀️. Whatever it takes to get your heart rate up a little 💚 You won’t regret it.

Today I flexed and this happened 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻... Ive learned that you do not have to spend hours at the gym to get result, you don’t have to go to the gym twice a day to get results..one good hour workout is way more effective that 2 half ass workouts...I DONT take any supplements other than protein shakes because I don’t consume enough protein with just food..I don’t believe in any of that pre-workout/ creatinine or any other enhancers,I feel the body becomes dependent on that stuff and once u stop then what???....I work hard and that’s it...these results I’ve gotten working out 2-3x per week..soo excited for more ... #transformationtuesday #gainz  #lovemuscle #womenwithmuscle #womenwholift #results  #postpartumbody  #postpartum  #fitmomof2 #noexcusesjustresults #hardwork  #vamospormás

Best workout EVER bc I ran at home while the kids were sound asleep!!! Quick shower and i was ready to get my day going. I might actually have a change of heart and start running more now that the treadmill is taking up my basement workout room! 😂So grateful to my neighbors for giving it to me🙌🏻 I plan on putting a lot of miles on this baby! I’m totally in love 💗with it!!

Pretty proud of my little gymnast tonight!!! She participated in her very first competition and was the youngest there!! She made it to the 11th station when she fell off the beam and hurt her toe.

She walked over to the judges table, handed in her score sheet and took a seat on the side.

She looked at me up in the stands and I motioned for her to come over.

She climbed up in my lap and had a little cry about hurting her toe.

Lots of hugs, telling her that she did a great job and that we were proud of her, she went back and took her seat on the mats.

Slowly the other gymnasts fished their stations and started to take their seat next to her.

After about 15 minutes she asked her coach if she could go back and finish the remaining stations. 
At this point almost everyone had finished and was sitting on the mats.

She did the final 7 stations all by herself in that big gym. 
With all the parents and grandparents in the stands watching.

She looked nervous walking up to the bars!! I can’t even imagine how big that gym must have looked to her looking back at all of us.

But she finished all her events and then took her place with the rest of her teammates.

We were nervous for her when she came out for the final judging.

She placed 5th, but even more than that, she went back and finished!!! That takes big guts to get back out there! Especially all in your own and you’re the youngest one there!!! I’m one proud momma tonight!!! 💕

So far, 2018 has been an incredible year!! We grew as a family, our little ones are beginning to come out of their shells; one testing her wings and learning to fly as the other continues to test the waters as he finds his way into the world.... .

Tonight, as our little family came together after a long day, I found myself reflecting on what has truly important in my life.  And since I haven't introduced myself to some of my new friends I thought I share some fun facts about myself!! .

I am extremely devoted to my husband and children.  They mean the 🌎 to me!
I come from a gigantic family that is intertwined with steps leading in so many directions but at the end of the day.... we all stand together! .

I am a K-6 certified teacher who is blessed to be able to be home with my children as they start their educations.  I love with every single bit of my heart, so  when you hurt...so do I.  I love to laugh, love to give and love to make people feel good about themselves by showing them I listen and care. .

My love for fitness and leading an active lifestyle started after I gained a ton of baby weight and developed an underactive thyroid that loves to push back...for that I've learned to roll with the punches. .

After losing the weight, I saw how important it is for my children to be healthy and active.  Seeing how they respond when they watch us workout makes these at home workouts more important then ever. .

So far, 2018 has been an incredible year!! We grew as a family, our little ones are beginning to come out of their shells; one testing her wings and learning to fly as the other continues to test the waters as he finds his way into the world.... . Tonight, as our little family came together after a long day, I found myself reflecting on what has truly important in my life. And since I haven't introduced myself to some of my new friends I thought I share some fun facts about myself!! . I am extremely devoted to my husband and children. They mean the 🌎 to me! I come from a gigantic family that is intertwined with steps leading in so many directions but at the end of the day.... we all stand together! . I am a K-6 certified teacher who is blessed to be able to be home with my children as they start their educations. I love with every single bit of my heart, so when you hurt...so do I. I love to laugh, love to give and love to make people feel good about themselves by showing them I listen and care. .
