So I’ve thought long and hard about this and plan on starting #dairyfreeketo soon.  I’m a sugar addict and I’ve turned to raisins and honey lately 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈 I love Paleo but my body needs a change, something to shock it. I was inspired by @meg.boggs to share my incredible postpartum body.

I’ve talked about my postpartum body before but never this vulnerable, so here it goes. .
.
What you don’t see underneath my high waisted gym leggings and my perfectly poised pictures is this. The loose, saggy belly button skin. The stretch marks that took over my growing belly at 37 weeks pregnant. The squishy-ness that cuddles my daughter so perfectly. .
.
It’s been a long battle to get to this point. It’s been HARD getting to the point where I could share something like this. .
.
There was once a time where I would look in the mirror several times DAILY and critique every inch of my body. I would think back to my pre pregnancy body and wish my current stomach looked how it did then. There are days where it still happens but they are less often now. .
.
Most of the time, my days are now replaced with celebrating what this body has done. It has performed as an athlete, it has performed as a dancer, it has carried life; and this is just the beginning. .
.
Some of you may look at this picture and be disgusted or grossed out. I look at this picture and I think, “wow, that body carried and sustained human life.” .
.
When I went into labor, I remembered the simple words my doula had told me to prepare me for labor in the weeks prior. She told me, “you’ve always been an athlete, pushing your body to the absolute limit. Think of labor as one of those moments.” .
.
And so I did. Childbirth was the most empowering experience I’ve ever had and for that, I look at this body and think of how amazing and strong it is. .
.
I pray you all go into this week remembering how amazing your bodies are. Mother or not, a female’s body is beautiful, strong, absolutely incredible. I pray you remember that always! .

Hip thrusts variations for my pregnant mamas! ( or if you just don’t like the regular hip thrust with the barbell!) I have been missing my hip extensions SO MUCH. It kills me. It’s really the only thing I have had to stop doing completely..... Can they please make barbells for this for pregnancy? 🤔 
Anywho, so here is some good variations! 🔸 B STANCE🔸
The first I believe is called B stance: put one of your legs ahead of your foot, you can even balance on your heel if you prefer. I have a medium ( blue) and extra heavy (red) bands on. You can’t see well, but separate your legs a tad more to get those medius muscles! Add a dumbbell or kettlebell is you want! 🔸BASIC🔸 
The next one is a basic banded hip thrust! Again, keep your legs a little further than hip width distance to get more burn. 🔸ONE LEG 🔸
This last movement is great for TVA, pelvic floor and balance! Simply lift one of your legs of the ground, keeping it level with your other leg, and perform a hip thrust as usual! 🔸 Other ways to make an exercise hard without adding extra weight: - Burnout: complete a movement until you no longer can with correct form - Go really slow on the down and up of a movement - Change your platform ( raise or lower legs or shoulders etc)

Day 69 was supposed to be a rest day but my husband and I had a belated anniversary date at the US National Whitewater Rafting Center. We conquered rapids, ropes and ziplines. Had to follow up my #BURGERGAINZ post with some squats! 205 lb x 6 for a few sets.  Feeling so much better today! The purpose of a treat meal/refeed is to raise leptin (a hormone that regulates hunger and satiety)which gets reduced in a prolonged calorie deficit. My carbs have been on the low end for me for a few weeks and I definitely feel the difference in my strength and focus...if you've followed me for a minute you see me posting about being hungry all the time lol.  My treat meal clears the slate and I'm definitely less hungry for a couple days but I go right back to my plan and start the cycle again so by next weekend I'm depleted and ready for another refeed 💪😁 #backsquats #squatbooty #liftheavy #girlswholift #girlswithmuscle #progress #motivation #flexibledieting #iifym #refeed #fitchick #fitmama #fitlife #gymaddict #gymlife #naturalbodybuilding

My mama sent me this picture on the left this weekend from a reunion 10 years ago. It was on a time hop and she said, “Natalie, I didn’t even know it was me at first.” I am SO proud of my mom. She’s always willing to try something new with her health, cooking,  a new workout program, a hiking challenge with my brother, and she’s been a veteran in my support groups for 5 years. 🙌🏻 She told me the program that’s changed her the most is the new nutrition program that came out his Spring.

Den další, myslím, že třináctý :) Snídaně jsem začala milovat (možná je to tím, že po nočním kojení jsem fakt hladová), oběd v hospodě z meníčka (nejmenší zlo z hlediska budoucích prdíků mého malého), Margotkový koláč (do diety fakt ne, na chuť fakt jo :D, večeře mi dala zabrat, neboť doma nebyla žádná zelenina a břicho mě bolelo dost.. chudák mé mládě, vyhlídky na klidnou noc moc nejsou :/ ale zapila jsem to litrem anýzovýho čaje a lžičkou Espumisan kapek, tak snad aspoň nějakou tu hoďku chrupneme :) a pomeranč na závěr - byl fakt skvělej :) vana a rychle do pelechu :) dobrou noc, spolubojovnice, které jste to dočetly až sem :) #theholybibleofyourbody #prijimamvyzvu #zdravejidlo #zdravetelo #fitmama #fitmum #snidane #obed #vecere #margotrezy #cajnaprdy

Easy & nutritious snack for when I’m hungry in-between meals. Who else is all about the #sundaymealprep ? 🕺🏽🕺🏽 These are low-glycemic, full of vitamins + minerals, gluten free & Vegan ➡️ anti-inflammatory amazing-ness!!! 😍🙌🏼 And 30 day program approved! ✅

🎃 PUMPKIN PROTEIN BITES 🎃
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 scoops Arbonne Vanilla Protein
¾ cup almond butter
½ cup pumpkin purée
1 ¼ cups old-fashioned oats (gluten-free)
½ cup ground flax seeds
3 tbsp. coconut sugar
Optional: Cacao nibs (because I put them in everything 🤣)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Add ingredients into medium bowl and stir to combine. Roll the mixture into about 12–16 balls. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

This was always me..especially after a vacation, weekend trip, or any weekend really! 
I would eat the bad food, skip working out, and then all of a sudden I just fell into old habits. Or I would think "well I'm not getting the results I want so why am I even doing this?" But this weekend was different! We went to STL to the drag races and zoo and I came PREPARED! I packed my pre/post workout, weights, and superfood smoothies. I had my phone so I could do my workouts from anywhere!

And I got it DONE! We shared a hotel suite with 4 others and although I didn't necessarily want them watching me workout, I didn't let that stop me! And I had my shake every day..just brought some water, mixed it up, and enjoyed it!

I ate the hotel breakfast in the mornings, but instead of indulging in the waffles, potatoes and biscuits & gravy, I had scrambled eggs and fruit! Yum! Superfood shakes for lunch! And then when we ate out for dinner, I just made healthier choices. So easy.

I feel so much better coming out of this weekend PROUD of myself for sticking with it and continuing to see results, while still enjoying a treat or two (we went to Cold Stone Creamery for dessert one night and has a blast and made some awesome memories!) I don't feel deprived or like I missed out, I just had an amazing weekend with my family!

This was always me..especially after a vacation, weekend trip, or any weekend really! I would eat the bad food, skip working out, and then all of a sudden I just fell into old habits. Or I would think "well I'm not getting the results I want so why am I even doing this?" But this weekend was different! We went to STL to the drag races and zoo and I came PREPARED! I packed my pre/post workout, weights, and superfood smoothies. I had my phone so I could do my workouts from anywhere! And I got it DONE! We shared a hotel suite with 4 others and although I didn't necessarily want them watching me workout, I didn't let that stop me! And I had my shake every day..just brought some water, mixed it up, and enjoyed it! I ate the hotel breakfast in the mornings, but instead of indulging in the waffles, potatoes and biscuits & gravy, I had scrambled eggs and fruit! Yum! Superfood shakes for lunch! And then when we ate out for dinner, I just made healthier choices. So easy. I feel so much better coming out of this weekend PROUD of myself for sticking with it and continuing to see results, while still enjoying a treat or two (we went to Cold Stone Creamery for dessert one night and has a blast and made some awesome memories!) I don't feel deprived or like I missed out, I just had an amazing weekend with my family! So I’ll do a little nap time hustle and then go back to spending every moment 100% plugged in with my kids because they will only be this little today! Tomorrow they will be a little older!❤️ .

🌟🌟Lifting > Cardio 🌟🌟

Don’t get me wrong, cardio is VERY important!  But cardio ALONE will not get you there the majority of the time for the average person.  Sure, there are people out there who only run and they are literally made like gazelles with low body fat, etc.  But, the majority of us are not that blessed through family genetics!
.
I can just speak for myself and my own experience with this.  I use to think if I just ran X miles per week, or if I could work my way up to a 10k or a half marathon, I would lose weight.  I would spend hours running, but could never achieve really great times and I never got the results I really wanted.  Once I started strength training, it was a total game changer!  I have been able to achieve PRs on races and go months without running and not lose much progress.  Plus your body completely changes when you build lean muscle!  Doing hours of steady state cardio as your only form of exercise will sometimes even make your body hold on to stubborn fat!  Imagine that?!!

The picture on the left is from a mud run I did 5 years ago when I was just a “runner”...pic on the right was yesterday.  Some things just get better with age 😆...well, and a lot of hard work, learning and discipline!

So if you are like me and thought cardio would do the trick, I challenge you to try something different and add in some strength training.  I promise you’ll see results and you might just become hooked on it like me! 💗💪🏻🔥🙌🏼. Also, I’m still on a mission for those abs—I know you’re under there dear abs, and I will find you!
