As promised, here are two awesome nutrient packed overnight oat recipes!

💚They’re easy to make. (Use rolled oats, not instant oats).
💚Easily customizable to your preferences.
💚Incredibly Nutritious. Oats are loaded with important vitamins, minerals and antioxidant plant compounds. Oats are rich in carbs and fiber, but also higher in protein and fat than most other grains.
💚Oats are rich in Antioxidants. Oats contain many powerful antioxidants, including avenanthramides. These compounds may help reduce blood pressure and have anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effects.
💚High in good fiber. Oats are high in the soluble fiber beta-glucan, which has numerous benefits. It helps reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels, promotes healthy gut bacteria and increases feelings of fullness.
💚Heart Healthy. Oats may lower the risk of heart disease by reducing both total and LDL cholesterol and protecting LDL cholesterol from oxidation. Many studies have shown that the beta-glucan fiber in oats is effective at reducing both total and LDL cholesterol levels.
💚Improve insulin sensitivity. Due to the soluble fiber beta-glucan, oats may improve insulin sensitivity and help lower blood sugar levels by slowing digestion and the release of sugar into the blood.

This seriously has to be one of my favorite times of year. I love when all our hard work in the garden starts to pay off!
We expanded our garden by about 4x this year, so it’s been a little behind others in the area, but we’re finally getting some of the first produce, and it’s AWESOME!
. Have you ever tried fresh Swiss chard? It’s AMAZING, and so super good for your gut health! BUT, I’m picky about preparation. 😝
Just take your freshly washed chard and dice it up into rough pieces. Place it on a baking sheet (along with any other veggies you’d like) and sprinkle with a bit of olive oil. Season with Himalayan salt, pepper, and any herbs you like. Then roast it in the oven at 425* until it’s crisp tender and ready to serve!
If you are roasting other veggies with the chard, just know the others will take longer than the chard really needs, so you might add it about halfway through the roasting time for the other veggies.
This works well for any of the heavy duty greens like kale, chard, spinach etc. SO good!

When I was 11 years old I was at the Nurse’s office in my school. We used to have to get physicals or our weight taken for some awful reason. I stepped on the scale and up pops the number, 120. The nurse, pressed her lips together and just shook her head. I stood there on the scale, not moving, in my mother’s clothes (her and I were the same size at this point) staring at that number. This was the day I started hating my body. ⠀⠀
Why should any 11 year old have to feel that way?⠀⠀
Fast forward to years of diet pills, fad diets, weight watchers, Jenny Craig⠀⠀
You name it, I’ve done it.⠀⠀
What if I would have kept going this way? ⠀⠀
How sick would I be? ⠀⠀
What type of shape would my body be in? ⠀⠀
What type of mental state would I be in?⠀⠀
It’s taken me 20 years to realize the importance of self-love. Countless yo-yo diets, restricting myself of my favorite foods, binging, and just harming my body brought me to a point where I had to look inward before I was ever going to feel beautiful outward.⠀⠀
Which is why I am so passionate about helping empower women to live their best lives. Healthy is a relative term. It can have hundreds of different meanings. We are all different shapes and sizes and healthy looks different on all of us.⠀⠀ You can live your best life. ⠀⠀

I just saw my other half for the last time in 1 month and 3 days. I feel like someone has ripped out my heart and thrown it on the ground and is stomping on it as we speak😭 Amazing trailride, heartbreaking goodbye. I hate being away from him so much it hurts. I want to cry my eyes out and cancel my flight and crawl into the corner of his box and never leave.

Earlier this year, I met a girl, here on IG, who responded to one of my posts about joining one of my monthly challenge groups.
When I asked her what program she was interested in, she said “INSANITY”.
I was a little shocked as she was starting from scratch & this is a pretty intense program.
Not only did homegirl CRUSH the program & has lost more then 20lbs since starting her journey, she also has fallen for this amazing man. His passion to help others is just amazing to watch. He’s contagious!! @mbrooks90 is that girl.
She continues to crush her fitness journey and is currently halfway done another program.
I have seen her change so much during this process. It’s not even about the weight she is losing, but her mindset. She’s so positive. She’s learned so much about herself and her resolve to push through the toughest workouts and to NEVER let an excuse get in her way is, truly, jaw dropping.
I love watching her just kill it.
It’s amazing how years ago, I got a burnt copy of INSANITY, fell in LOVE with it & the company who represents it.
Because of that love, I was able to inspire & help others start their own journey to a healthier life.

I'm on a mission to fuel my body well. I've seen the most progress when I replace the nutrients my body uses and when I give it ENOUGH fuel. I used to be afraid of eating too many calories, but now I know my body needs them! I stick to lean, clean and mostly green nutrients and I've seen my body lean out and get healthier. This morning's smoothie bowl is filling, detoxifying, and delicious. ⠀
