This is my body after 6 months of living life and drinking beer while trying to stay on top of my game. I won’t lie I have been struggling and the only thing that kept me going was our wedding. Feeling defeated, depressed and exhausted today I decided to kick myself in the butt and make it happen for my business, my wife, my girls and most of all myself. Its not easy being there for everyone but its what I do.

I often wonder why is losing kilos on a scale more important then building lean muscle to many. Losing kilos can be great reward for your dieting or your motivation but what happens when you haven’t lost any in a week? What does that do to your mindset? every time you try and lose body fat you just end up skinny, or worse, skinny fat.
Building lean muscle is the secret to maintaining a healthy , low fat percentage physique. Yes, muscle does weight heavier then fat and your scale readings will increase but lean muscle will continue to burn fat while you rest. Ask yourself, do you want to reduce kilos on the scales and look flabby or do you want to look toned? A toned body will help keep the fat away, so start building those lean muscles!! Sunday recovery rest day in the pool. I used to train minimum 10 days straight trying to maintain a low fat percentage physique for the business. After years of this mindset it finally took its toll with old age catching up to me. So now I schedule 2 rest days a week. I posses an old busted up body. My left elbow is always in pain, worse when I train. My right shoulder has limited mobility and inherits pain when I lift. Both my knees are pretty much done and hurt everytime I squat, and pull a hammy every now and then. I will get back up tomorrow to go into battle wounded and still come out alive. I hear from time to time people are not achieving their ideal fitness goals. In this case then you need to reassess the following ⚫️ are you performing 100% correct movement to each exercise?
⚫️ are you still lifting that same weight you lifted 6 months ago?
⚫️ are you really giving it 100%
⚫️ are you sticking to your eating plan?
⚫️ are you having more then 1 rest day a week?
These are some factors to look at even though you may think your giving it all. At the age of 46 being into fitness all my life I still receive coaching to correct and perfect my techniques. I want to get the full benefits from my workouts and is why I achieve my fitness goals. My eating isn’t of a strict nature more fuelling the body to train. Typical Darwin boy I love my RICE!!! My daily eating consists of healthy options abundance in protein and carbs with a side of green every now & then. So Anita decided, well told me to go onto the gut health program. I still eat my regular daily foods with the added digestive health supplement, bone broth, sauerkraut and a daily super greens smoothie. Last night I ate curry chicken and rice, every night I have rice. The gut health program supported my digestive system to wake up with the abs still showing.

I have never been one for running but lately I have stepped into the NO GO ZONE to build on my fitness. I am now progressing on my endurance during workouts and recovery in between sets. Still FIT’AZ at 46!! Feeling tired, sore & bloated I took yesterday off full training. This morning I’m feeling back to myself.
When we overtrain the body starts to use our immune system to rebuild our muscles and not to defend against foreign invaders like the viruses and the flu. Also, we lose sleep due to our cortisol levels being high placing our bodies into damage mode causing it to hold water to protect. It can also stop the body from burning fat. Sleep is most important for recovery, rebuilding and progress.
My plan now is to train 2 days on 1 day off...........lets see if I can keep to this 🙏🏿 Happy Thursday team
