No workout today 😑
Before I found this new fuel I never had energy after my work day to work out let alone energy to get through the kids after school activities.
I used to come home mentally and physically exhausted from my job...it requires a lot of intense attention to detail and focus and was never able to be productive in the evenings.
But now I not only have super sharp laser focus and mental clarity at work... good sustained energy ALL throughout the day and even after work, but actually feel great for an afternoon workout!!!🔥 ...and still have energy and a better mood for my family in the evening and even getting a few household chores done!
The whole day is just #better !!! 😊
I'm so thankful and excited I feel so great and am enjoying all the extra last beautiful Fall days on the trails...the colors are still gorgeous and I love the cool crisp air and the dry crunch of the leaves under my feet as I run up the mountain hoping it's not the last sunny afternoon but so thankful I'm out enjoying as many of them as I can!!!😍 Today was a double dip kind of day...I woke up realizing I had slept like a baby and got a light weight workout in before work...and yay, fueling my muscles is actually starting to show a little!
I'm so excited for what future adventures I now have the energy for...and I am LOVING helping others start feeling better than ever too! ❤

Hammer & Chisel 1/56: Chisel Balance
Well, here we go. Round 3 of H&C began today. And, it’s just as difficult as I remember. 🤪. I probably would have modified even if I had gone to the “dungeon” and had the bench at my disposal. 😬 I shared some of my modifications in my stories if you’re curious to see what I did without a bench. I’ll continue to share my modifications as I go along if that’s something that interests you. 😊
SELF M O T I V A T I O N
I learned a long time ago that I can’t look to anyone else to motivate me into action. Though I am inspired by many, it is on me to make the commitment to change and follow through. But, I’ll be honest; it is harrrrrd. In fact, it isn’t the exercise that’s the hard part — though, I just looked at tomorrow’s workout and whimpered — it’s being mindful of my food choices that is a challenge. (This is no easy feat when the husband pours himself a big glass of wine at dinner and the kids break out the macarons for dessert.)
If you know me, you know I indulge and own it. I own it because I work for it and I never let guilt overshadow the pleasure. But the days I am steadfast in my nutrition choices are sometimes a test of willpower and, depending on the day, that willpower is close to breaking — like today. But, I didn’t let it get to me. Hooray for small victories!
Back at ‘er in the basement gym tomorrow morning. I’ll check in and let you know how I muddle through.

I was smiling on the outside but I was miserable in the inside...
I remember that day being excited for the snow ❄️⛄️ and thrilled to be able to spend the day playing in it with my boys until I realized one thing. If I bent over I was going to put a split down the center of my snow pants 😱. I was barely able to pull them up and buttoning them...well that was impossible. .
Now...now I have found a program that works and that I can stick to. An easy nutrition plan 🥑and workouts 🏋🏻♀️that I enjoy. This year my snow pants will fit with no problem and I will be able to play with my boys with no wardrobe concerns.

Before any bending or splitting, warm up, warm up, warm up! I've had past hamstring and back injuries due to pushing too fast without proper warm up, and I have learned my lesson the hard way. I always prep my bending practice with cat/cow, puppy pose, thread the needle, and sun salutation flows. For splits I always start with a crescent lunge for my hip flexors and then sit back on my toe to stretch my hamstrings. Happy stretches mean happy poses! 😊

Totally yelled pineapples during this new routine except it’s from a different trainer so it didn’t work 😱😁 Love to hate this new stuff and if this is only the “prep” I’m not sure I want to do the whole thing 😂 Here goes to new beginnings because when they ask me what am I doing my answer always is: “Whatever it takes!” What are YOU doing to finish this year better than before?? Just because I've been doing this for years doesn't mean it's easy. Nope. Still hard guys.
What does it take? CONSISTENCY.
Each day you do. You do whether or not you feel like it. You get your workout in. You be mindful of your nutrition.
And if you make a mistake ... if you miss a workout ... if you each like crap for a day. Forgive yourself and JUST KEEP GOING.
You just have to START and from there you KEEP going.

First workout of a new program, today was all about speed and cardio 😖 Definitely out of my comfort zone! Felt good to challenge myself, and work up a good sweat in the process 😁

I disconnected myself from enjoying cooking, and pushing play... I told myself it was too hard, I was tired, I didn’t have time, I didn’t feel like it… And worst of all I told myself I didn’t need it because I was close to my goal!!!!!! THEN THE PANTS STARTED TO GET TIGHT😬😬😬 So it kicked me back into gear for my workouts… But it left me struggling with my snacking habit!!! So I just hit the reset button… I went back to the program that I love❤️
(and I’m adding in a new exciting program as well ... that I will be jumping right in as soon as my 21 days are finished)... I DOVE back into my meal planning, AND prepping my food for the week
I started reading a really good personal development book, that will help light my soul on fire🔥
AND most importantly I’m reconnecting with a group of ladies that are BLOWING IT UP right now!! So my advice if this happens to you… Don’t give up!!
Search for what is right for you… What makes you happy, what do you love… Start there and then begin challenging yourself to do more!! And reach out if you need support!!
