Lunch at Eat First today, supposedly opened by one of the sons of the Sik Wai Sin founder. Very homely dishes - think minced pork and salted fish. Competently executed although it still doesn't compare with our favourite zi char Yang Ji at Chinatown Complex. Food cooked by a 70+ uncle with years of experience is just on a different level altogether. Eat First is nearer our home though so it's still a good option for when we don't want to travel.
Yay something hot and soupy for dinner on a rainy evening! 🌧
Fish head steamboat at Nan Hwa Chong! Added napa cabbage cos #veggielover here. Been here a few times but the standards seem to be different every time hahah. The ingredients are generally fresh though, and soup is flavourful, albeit a tad salty. But I’ll think the soup is considered one of the better ones! Prices are quite reasonable too! 🐟
Happy midweek! 😊
Had a very yummy, currylicious dinner at @fuxiangsignatures last night!! 😋😋
Thank you for the generous portions of curry assam fish head, curry chicken, deep-fried mantou, youtiao and roti prata to pair with the curries! There was also the Emperor Cream Sauce chicken which was 👍👍. But our ★ favourite would have to be the Curry Assam Fish Head! Though it tasted more Curry, with a subtle taste of Assam; but the fish was super fresh & the portions of brinjal and lady's fingers were generous! 😋😍
Our #TeamOCF wiped the huge claypot cleannn! 😊 And both my friends kept ladling the fish curry gravy onto their plates. 😂 Oh and we appreciated how the traditional metal plates and pots were used in serving & eating. It was like we were dining at home with 家常味道! 😊 It was also a festive Christmas spirit with the logcake and the Christmas 'pouch' of biscuits! ❤❤
T'was also a very good catch-up for us busy working adults since our post-study-days in Adelaide! 😉 Looking forward to OCF Convy 2019! 😊
