A really cool friend of mine got me this tank top when I was pregnant 🤰🏼 with Edison ❤️ It’s crazy to believe that this time last year we were imagining what our little boy would look like and how we would be celebrating Christmas 🎄 with him this year....and now he’s really here for his first Christmas!
I’m so grateful I had a healthy pregnancy and was able to workout throughout the whole 9 (okay LBH, more like 10) months. And now I continue to make my health a priority despite chasing after a now crawling baby 👶🏼😜 I’m even more excited that my daily workout is going to drop down to 20 MINUTES in the New Year! 🎉
Yup, I totally said 20 minutes!
And I don’t know about you, but I can find 20 minutes of TV 📺 time up to workout for 20 minutes 😏

I've been the worst at remembering to take weekly #bumpdate pics. I’ve hesitated doing this program for a long time now. I did the live version of it in a class years ago when I was out of shape and it was nearly impossible for me then 😪Plus it’s long- like 40 minutes 5 days a week and goes to an hour next month 😳

Yesterday I was in a lot of pain luckily it was a rest day but today I needed this. I needed my favorite workout to get my head back in the game and make sure I don’t let my pain or fatigue take over my day! I am going to rest a little and then go for a walk too because it’s way too gorgeous outside to miss it...Especially knowing how dreadful the weather’s been for the past 2 weeks!
You are a champion, you decide how your day will go. Of course there is a lot of things we don’t control but we do control our thoughts so I challenge you on this beautiful Friday to get up and move because that is one of the best thing you can do for your mind 😜

We got home last night after being gone a week and a half and the last thing I wanted to do was cook and food prep 😏
This was a chicken coconut curry 🍛 for the crockpot. I just threw it in last night and bam- lunch today and this week!
I just added some extra frozen veggies because veggies most 🌶🥦🍆 So tasty too!
Yes I’ve been working out while I’m in the cities 💪🏻 I just haven’t posted as much because this is what I look like every day afterwards 😅😂😂🤣🤣 No one said working out had to be glamorous 💁🏼♀️ Just get er done ✅!! Even if you look like a tomato 🍅 like me afterwards 🤣🤣
If you need me, I'll look like a less glamorous version of this. 🤣 Imagine runny-day-old makeup and dirty bed head... that's more realistic. 🛌 The ultrasound from the doctor showed that the babe's heartbeat is beating strong 🙌 but I have a subchronic hemmorage (SCH) next to the placenta. This basically means there was a bleed in my uterus and now it's clotting/ capturing blood and my body either has to absorb it or expel it. They aren't necessarily dangerous if you catch them when they are small but they definitely are NOT ideal either. I had a big pity party for myself last night and got all the feels out of my system...😭 Anyways, I'm on workout restriction for the next few weeks (which I'm fine with 😜) and am taking it super easy the next few days. Ben has already brought my two breakfasts in bed. 😍 He's a champ. Thankful that I can work my business from bed & that my hubs has the freedom to be home to take care of all of us. 💜💜
I get it, Mama Nature. It’s cold out. BUT YOU CANNOT BREAK ME OF MY LOVE FOR FROZEN YOGURT.🍨 I don’t care what time of the year it is. I’m eating it. That’s a fact.
Want to know the trick to enjoying fro-yo to the maximum?
Only eat a little bit at a time. Then, you can afford yourself the chance to have some every day.
It’ll add years to your life because you’re so fucking happy that you get to eat so much fro-yo any time you want.
So many people I talk to think they have to be 100% “good” to get the results they want health and fitness wise
Here’s the thing: you are good already ❤️so stop beating yourself up
And you don’t have to give up all the treats you want to reach your goals. And yes I call them treats now instead of cheats because it’s much more positive ☺️ When does cheating every lead to anything good? It doesn’t 😏
I was hungry after work today but not really ready for supper time. The old Andrea used to snack on pretzels 🥨 and junk and feel icky and guilty and skip supper 😫
The new Andrea knows she can make a healthier snack choice that will make me feel good, fill me up, and still have one treat, not cheat, that I can really savor, enjoy, and not feel guilty about 🍺
Pick the treats that are really worth it to you. The pretzels really don’t do anything for me, but this coffee beer is pretty dang good ❤️You can still have one treat, enjoy it, savor the smell, taste, etc. and then move on
This has really helped me enjoy and savor the treats I do pick, and not have as many of them, and still reach my health and fitness goals 👊🏻 Plus who knew cucumbers 🥒were almost more crunchy and delicious than pretzels in the first place? 😜

Sunday’s are usually my rest day. And I REALLY wasn’t feeling like working out today 😏but sometimes that’s the best day TO workout 👊🏻 We are dealing with some hard things in our family right now and I have a very busy week coming up with my office job and holiday planning🎄
By the way, I LOVE this time of year at work so I’m excited to be busy planning all the activities, but I know it will be stressful too 😬
So since Edison was taking a nap, I took advantage of the time to take care of me. And the sweat felt so good 😅
Whatever you do on Sunday’s to recharge, do it. Take care of you. It makes it easier to handle the little stressors the week throws at you ❤️

Inspired by other harvest salads I saw on Pinterest and just added some things I had on hand I thought would be tasty. Very healthy, filling, and a perfect lunch for this week!
A wise woman once said, “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” 👊🏻 Okay I honestly don’t know if a woman said that, but it sounds like something a strong and intelligent woman would say so I’m going with it 😜
I have so enjoyed the workout program I have done for the last four months. Only 4 workouts a week, 3 rest days, 30-40 minutes on workouts days
But it’s time to change it up and go outside of my comfort zone 😅
I’m determined to end the year strong rather than phone it in 😬
So I’m committed to a program the next two months that intimidates me. It’s pure cardio madness that will be 6 days a week and sometimes up to an hour 🤪
But I know I can do this. And I’ll be proud I did

Happy third trimester Baby Gares! It won’t be long before we get to meet you! She is getting stronger in her movements everyday and more and more active. I’m having a hard time sleeping between burning up and not feeling comfortable for long in one position. Poor hubby is feeling it too. This morning, Edison was getting a little fussy during my workout. I could have just thrown in the towel and called it a day
And honestly moms? Sometimes you DO have to quit your workout. But you got part of it in, and that's what counts!! But today, I had abs left, and I knew he wanted to be held and just to do it with me. So I put him on my lap and crunched up to Edison to finish. He loved it!
As moms, we are struggling to do so many things and be so many roles. And sleep? What's that?
But the one thing that can help with all of those daily stressors is to makw sure OUR cups get filled first. I totally believe my workout makes me a better momma to Edison
When I take care of me, I can better take care of him too
So even if your workout is shortened, or at home in the wee hours of the morning, or late at night when your kids go to bed, whatever works for you to get it done, do it momma. Do it for you and your kids.
Never my excuse. Always my reason <3
I haven’t been cooking as much as I used to. Maybe it’s being a mom and all 😜
But we really don’t eat out a lot either. I have a lot of freezer meals and most of my prep consists of chopping up veggies to add to meals or have for snacks
But I was wanting to make some new meals today so I made tator tot hot dish- half regular tots and half broccoli 🥦 I bet you can tell which half is mine 😂
And soul soothing African peanut stew for lunches this week. I added extra veggies and leftover turkey too 🥘

I had a bit of a stressful day today 😏
It happens to all of us!! But the best thing is that I can chose to get a good night sleep and start fresh tomorrow 🤗

Like driving to work and seeing the sun rise and the blue and pink color of the sky set against the calm fields 🌾
Hearing Edison squeal and laugh when I tickled him tonight 👶🏼 And getting a quick smooch 😚 from Brandon when I gave him rides between fields to vehicles tonight
Every day is not perfect: but I bet you can find some joy in even the tough days 💁🏼♀️

I love posting happy things on here but tonight I need a pregnancy rant...I hope you don’t mind!! Would you like to know something that upsets me . People constantly using horror stories or saying things to try and put me off! Telling me it’s going to be the hardest day of my life and that I’ll never want to do it again. Now I understand it’s going to be tough . I know I have a lot of pain coming up and that it’s no walk in the park but surely I have every right to see if for myself and every right to enjoy this pregnancy without worrying more by what people are saying? It’s so lovely when people come up to you and say “ it’s really not as bad as everyone makes out or just do what your body tells you”. Or something nice and positive like that. I had a lovely chat with a stranger in a shop the other day who had got a 4 weeks old and she said the same thing to just enjoy it and do what I need to do not what everyone else says.
We are all different I don’t know how I’m going to cope or how I’m going to feel and neither does anyone else! . But let’s just say I can’t wait to find out for myself! I’m sorry for the rant but I needed to get that out!! I was trying on my beautiful bridesmaid dress for my brother and sister in law's wedding that's this Friday and I noticed a little pooch that I have never noticed before 😂
Nice thing about full length mirrors and tight dresses is they point out all of those tiny imperfections 😉
I may have lost the baby weight, but by no means did everything go back exactly where it was before 😜
But you know what? It won't usually. And that's okay!
I have done so many healthy things for my mind, body and spirit since having Edison. And all of that self care only makes me a better human and a better mom 💖
Moms: let's work and eat well in a healthy way because we LOVE our post-partum bodies, not because we expect to have no evidence of having a baby afterwards. It feels so much better not to expect PERFECTION, but instead strive for IMPROVEMENT, do you feel me?
And I want you to know momma, that whether you had a baby 7 months ago like me or 7 years ago, you are doing an amazing job, and you are beautiful 🤗💖

Sometimes I miss college and learning and taking exams 😳
I know that sounds odd maybe to some people, but it’s true! I miss learning more about things I’m PASSIONATE about ❤️ Lifelong learning is a whole lot of fun
And I LOVE food 😍
But I also like feeling good in my own skin and being healthy 😏
I’m so happy to have the opportunity to get certified in a nutrition learning system from the comfort of my own home 🏡
This program is taught by a registered dietician and nutritionist who lost over 100 pounds herself and helps others do the same without dieting and eliminating food groups 🙏🏻 It’s all about having a more positive mindset about food, eating, and the scale so you can reach your goals and have sustained weight loss

One of my favorite months of the year! The leaves are changing colors 🍂 pumpkin 🎃 spice is back, it’s cooler outside, Halloween 👻 happens, apples 🍎 are at their best, you can cozy up inside with a blanket and candles, the list goes on!
And this year, my brother Jeremy and soon to be sister are getting married!!! 👰🏼🎉❤️ I couldn’t be more excited for all that this month has in store! 🎉

Healthy food doesn’t have to be expensive 💁🏼♀️ I got all of these colorful veggies from the farmers market for under $15 this week! 👩🌾 Those colorful veggies you see cut up are a variety of different radishes (also some shown uncut) I didn’t think I liked radishes until I baked them: totally different, sweeter flavor! 😍
The ice cream pail is full of a big head of cabbage I got for just $2.50! I’m going to use it as a base instead of noodles 🍝 or potatoes this week
If you are on a budget and want to eat more veggies, head to your local farmers market if you have one ☝️ If you don’t, veggies like cabbage keep for a long time and they are inexpensive and versatile

I did not plan on gaining that much weight 😏
My doctor didn’t seem to be worried as I was working out and well, TRYING to eat healthy. I may have had a bit more pizza 🍕 Mac and cheese 🧀 and dessert 🍨 than usual
I honestly didn’t think I would be able to lose the weight I gained 😞
I have always LOVED working out, but was concerned about time to do so once I became a mom. And plus, I like really love food and was really enjoying all the post baby casseroles 🥘 and desserts we were getting from people 😬
Then, a nutrition learning system came out in May just when I needed something to help me lose the weight. It’s all about changing your MINDSET about food so you can lose weight without dieting, cutting out food groups, limiting portions, etc. because for me and many others I have talked to, that ish just doesn’t work in the long run 😏
I love the positive little switches I have with food: like a “sexy salad,” 🥗 “treats” instead of “cheats,” “veggies most,” “more water, more weight loss”
I paired this nutrition with a workout that’s just four days a week, around 30 minutes on workout days and THREE rest days......goodbye baby weight! 🙌🏻❤️ And the best part is, I didn’t have to sacrifice time with my son: he’s there watching me at home workout, sometimes joining in! 👶🏼 I didn’t have to avoid parties, going out to eat, family functions, or prep food for hours: I live my life and still am able to be in control of my food choices 🙏🏻 And I’m so dang grateful for my girl squad of other ladies to check in with on the daily and keep me accountable. The community is the secret sauce to success 👭👭👭 I always want to pay it forward and help more ladies and mommas too so I’m opening up a new group starting Monday, October 1st!! 🎉🎉 Fall is a perfect time to get into a good routine. Why not start with something that’s manageable and FUN! 🎃
