Second to last day of the hunt. Random spot we walked into. Minutes before sunset. Second after I decided to pack up. The draw next to me silently exploded with elk and deer. One of the coolest things I was able to witness. None of them knew I was even there. #gofartherstaylonger#firstlitefusion
Having confidence in your equipment equals having confidence in your abilities and it all starts with the setup. We are very lucky to have Jerimiah from @wildearrowarchery take time to explain everything with us so we can share it with you guys. This build is going to be sweet! Video to follow ASAP! @hoytbowhunting @eastonarchery #hushlife#hoyt#wildearrowarchery#firstlitefusion#easton
Just picked up this bino harness with a rangefinder pouch from @fhfgear. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of these products. This system should keep my valued optics safe in the thick Florida woods. #fhfgear#firstlight#firstlitefusion
The waiting game. Still no punched tag on the elusive Merriam’s turkey. Either way, it’s been a fun journey trying to catch up to these strutters all spring, I’ve learned a lot and spent a lot of time just listening to the woods. Last opportunity (for me) of the 2018 spring season in CO to punch the tag this Saturday! Still glad to spend so much time outside. @firstlitehunting gear is keepin me going out there for sure!! Go get yourself some #merinowool you won’t regret it. Dunking the neck gaiter in the creek was the best idea I had all day. #aerowool#gofartherstaylonger#firstlitemerinowool#firstlitefusion#msr#msrhyperflow water pump for the win!
Garmont Tower Trek GTX Review and Video
Review video link in my bio.
Just to give you a background I am looking for a Boot for Early season elk hunting in Idaho. Here is what I am looking for out of a boot: Under 3.5lbs. • Full rand • Must be waterproof • Good Ankle support • Good lacing system • Under $350
The Garment Tower Trek fit all those categories. In a size 9 it actually came in at 2 lbs. 14.3 oz.!!! IMOP This is an excellent boot! The first thing that stood out to me was the great finish on these boots. The finish chocolate colored suede leather, full rand and Vibram sole really make this boot look like a high end hand crafted boot. The ankle support is good and the boot’s sock fit with Schoeller material and lacing system really keeps your foot in place. These boots are about a medium flex, I would not consider them a stiff boot, but they are much stiffer then a flexible hiking boot. The is a little high cut of boot that I am used to but I believe that will help with ankle support. This boot fits great in a 9, but I would like to try a 9.5 as it is a little tight with a medium weight sock. All in all this is a great boot and I do believe it will be a keeper. Can’t wait to get it out side to see how it performs. I would like to try on a few others before I make up my mind so I will be posting other reviews. If you have any questions, make sure to ask.
Sometimes I find a new hobby and become a tad bit obsessed. My most recent new hobby is hunting. I’ve done nothing but read about hunting elk in my spare time for the past week and I’ve already spent way too much money. Here’s a picture of me in my new @firstlitehunting camo. Unfortunately you can’t see it, it being camo and all.
