Despite it not being exactly optimal leaf-raking weather in Chicagoland, I think there *is* something to be said for continuing a project through completion, don’t you think @nickofferman? What say you, @jimmydiresta?
Four PHCC Baseball student-athletes signed their athletic scholarships today to continue to play and further their studies next year. Dylan Flint will attend Norfolk State University, Nick Moore will attend Ashland University, Bradley Hanner will attend Young Harris College, and Matt Henson will attend Bethune Cookman University.
Flint is a sophomore outfielder from Manassas, Virginia. Before arriving to PHCC, he lettered at Osbourn High School. For the Pats last season, he played 34 games, batting .317 with 19 hits and 7 stolen bases.
Moore arrived to PHCC from Salem High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Pitching last season he had a 4-1 record, 1 complete game, and 26 strikeouts.
Hanner comes from Orange County High School in Orange, Virginia. The right handed pitcher struck out 69 batters in 14 appearances last year.
Henson put up a 6-1 record in 17 appearances in 2018. He arrived to PHCC from Courtland High School in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
This season is truly one for the record books! I cannot describe the immense pride and awe I am of this team! The boys won the first ever XC state title in school history and the girls took home a well deserved 2nd place. This is the third runner-up for the girls in 6 years! Truly amazing! The boys XC school record also went down this year and @ben.hartvig repeated as overall state champion with the fastest time of the day for all classes! I am going to miss the seniors so much! #Igottrackstill#sdp#keepthelegacygoing#finishthejob
According to this letter from @gedkearney, @katfornorthcote will “deliver for local schools” - I hope Northcote Primary will be delivered a tangible commitment to #finishthejob we’ve started. #iloveNPS#i ❤️NPS #proudlypublic#NESSA @mplidiathorpe @jamesmerlinomp @danielandrewsmp
Northcote Electorate State School Alliance (NESSA) - how many chocolate crackles do we need to fund our master plans? Come along to the NESSA launch and bakesale! Buildings at our schools must be made fit for@purpose to match the excellent standard of education provided by staff #finishthejob#NESSA#proudlypublic#fairschoolfunding#iloveNPS#I ❤️NPS @jamesmerlinomp @danielandrewsmp @mplidiathorpe @katfornorthcote
** Election Breakdown ** We lost. We received 41% of the vote. 6,747 Votes.
In comparison, 2016 saw us get 36%, 6,826 Votes.
So, 79 Votes short of '16's Presidential election in this years Midterm (where a smaller % of voters vote)... we were just 3003 Votes short of the Incumbent. (who has the "Incumbent Advantage", Incumbents are re-elected 80-90% of the time)
In comparison, in 2016 Nick Schroer received 12,200 Votes... yesterday he received 9,749... or 2,451 Votes less.
Knowing that House District 107 voted down RTW by nearly 73%, and being the ONLY Labor-Endorsed Candidate, I expected a much better showing. I thought the Labor Movement would #FinishTheJob & #VoteThemOut ! Alas, all of the biggest Anti-Labor Reps are still there, and Hawley (who will vote for a National RTW bill) defeated (Pro-Labor) Claire!
On top of this...
Amendment 1 (Clean MO) PASSED!
Amendment 2 (Medical Marijuana) PASSED!
Proposition B (Raise Up/Min Wage) PASSED!
ALL DEMOCRAT BACKED... My take-away from just that; The people of Missouri support our issues, our policies, our platform, but they do not want to support Democratic Candidates.
This election is over. Dark-money, Billionaires, and Special Interests won again, but things are always darkest before the dawn.
Unlike in 2016, where I wore every single hat, completed nearly every single task, and knocked nearly every single door... we had a great team this year! Literally dozens of volunteers helping in various ways, fighting for a Missouri to believe in, and I am so very grateful for and to all of you!
I really appreciated being able to delegate, even if I wasn't as good at it as I would have liked to been. Hard to hand over control, but when it's a choice between that and doing everything solo... Though, I'd be lying if there weren't times I tried to delegate, and still decided to do things myself.
All of this, and the fact my personal life was flipped upside down with the passing of my Mom 3 weeks before the election. In retrospect, perhaps I should have suspended my campaign, given that I was never able to get my head back into Campaign mode after that. I continued, and persevered, because Mom would have wanted
Great to see former NPS student and aspirant for state seat of Northcote @katfornorthcote meeting with school leaders on Monday. From all reports @katfornorthcote listened attentively to our schools needs and our aspiration to #finishthejob and create a legacy for future NPS students. #iloveNPS#I ❤️NPS thanks @tessavanduyn and Ian Taylor and Kerrie for hosting. @danielandrewsmp @jamesmerlinomp @mplidiathorpe
@SEIU_org members are getting out the vote in St. Louis because our wages, our healthcare and good #union jobs are on the ballot! Senator-elect Brian Williams met with SEIU members as they headed out for another round of #ElectionDay #GOTV this afternoon. Together #WeRise to lift Missouri’s minimum wage, clean up government and vote for @mccaskill4mo and Nicole Galloway! #VoteYesOnPropB#YesOn1#FinishTheJob#TeamClaire
