Gipsoteca Bartolini: These plaster “models” (to me) were even more interesting than their finished counterparts. The dots throughout the body are reference points to use when cutting up the marble chunks for the final product. Weird precursor to cgi motion capture bodysuits?

The Liebknecht-Hof is located within the 12th district (Meidling) and was build from 1926 to 1927. It was one of many complexes built around the Längenfeldgasse due to the good infrastructural position and connection to transportation. During the Austrian Civil War in 1934 many bloody fights took place Liebknecht-Hof, as it had a strategically important position between the inner city and the south of Vienna.
It is named after Wilhelm Liebknecht (1826 - 1900) and his son Karl Liebknecht (1871 - 1919). Both were leaders of the German labour movement in the 19th and 20th century.
