THE HATE YOU GIVE
Coming October 19th.
The movie is based on the book of the same time title by Angie Thomas. And you know this story is also based off real life events.
Yes, I will watch and oh yes, I will cry buckets
CAST: Amandla Stenberg,Regina hall, Common, Issa Rae, Russell Hornsby, KJ Apa,Lamar Johnson and Anthony Mackie.
DIRECTED BY: George Tillman Jnr.
Starr Carter is constantly switching between two worlds -- the poor, mostly black neighborhood where she lives and the wealthy, mostly white prep school that she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is soon shattered when she witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend at the hands of a police officer. Facing pressure from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and decide to stand up for what's right.
I love Amandla Stenberg and she is a fantastic actor. I know she crushed this role.
Who is is anticipating the movie?

I deserve some accolade.
I started holding off a lil bit from writing reviews straight after a movie release because to me all reviews are spoilers ( little or big). But today JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM goes up.
I am a huge Jurrasic Park fan. Why? Because the movie introduced me to dinosaurs as a kid. And I can't seem to get that epic scene where that dinosaur ripped off the toilet off that dude( still makes me laugh). I missed the first five minutes of the movie ( I didn't get my popcorn in time and ain't no movie without popcorn). Ok, Claire is recruited by Benjamin Lockwood through his estate manager Eli to help relocate the dinosaurs to the Lockwood estate , saving them from an incoming volcano that will make their kind extinct.
Although they are estranged Claire gets Jurassic World's former Velociraptor trainer , Owen Grady, to help capture 'Blue' the dinosaur he trained & the most wanted of all dinosaurs( super intelligent one).
But Eli has other plans, he wants to sell these dinosaurs to the highest bidders & the plan,is to leave Claire,Owen & their team to die on the island while another team he recruited comes home with the dinosaurs. Oh! And he kills poor old Benjamin Lockwood after he finds out his plan through his granddaughter Maisie.
I enjoyed the movie, it was a rollercoaster of fear & laughter. Chris Pratt(Owen)is a really great actor & I think he was the only one who made me enjoy the movie. I am still indecisive if I like Claire(Bryce Douglas Howard), it was really hard connecting with her. Also I wasn't too attached to the dinosaurs to feel sympathy for them except for the occasional clips of Owen training Blue as a baby.
The movie tried to make us feel for the dinosaurs but 'hey I am human', I feel for my kind first.
I think there was a little bit of overacting especially from Zia, Claire's associate & animal doctor ( she made me cringe). The action sequences on the island made me hold my breath a lot cos it was so good. Also the part where they were bidding for the dinosaurs and they got loose and hell broke out was super terrifying and Fantastic.
The movie is a good one, keeps you entertained long enough.
Exciting news to wake up to.
My latest Sci-fi short film was officially selected at the #HollywoodSunawards where it went on to win Best Narrative short film!
Every time a project of mine gets recognised for the hard work that me and my great team went into making it. It reinforces the notion that I’m on the right track and surrounded by the right people who have shown nothing but love and support since the beginning of my journey.
Thank you so much to the cast and crew for your amazing work, the @roundhouseldn for supporting and funding the project and everyone else who believes in me and my team.
Stay tuned for more news regarding Number 13,s spiritual sequel ‘Collision’ :) #Filmawards#feelingblessed#Number13shortfilm#JonellRowe#Director#shortfilm#Lionstoothfilms#watchthisspace#Thankyou#Roundhouse
