Just figging about.
Eaten whole, seeds squeezed out, chopped up in a salad, dried in the sun, sitting by the sea, how do you eat yours?
This one got sat on, and then eaten anyway 🙄
Today is day 35 of our 42 day road (+planes) trip. One week to go. Looks like we will celebrate with a morning dip in the sea ☀️
As somebody told me yesterday: 'Maria means Maria in all languages on planet Earth '.
Strongly believe that people born in the midst of winter are having two birthdays - one in the cold weather and one in August. Ask Queen Elizabeth if you don't believe me. I am already sure 15th of August is mine date for second birthday... my home city has its biggest celebration with so much fireworks ✨, the sea is extremely happy and it's my nameday... so yep, raise the glass of prosecco in the air and shake it like you just don't care 🧚♀️🥂 Thank you for all the love shared. ❤
It’s been such a hot summer the fig tree in my garden has actually got ripe fruit on it! I’ve lived here over 8 years and they have never been edible before. They are also huge! #britishsummer#figs#greenfingers#yumyum
Buenos días! Continuing my healthy streak after last nights vegetarian dinner at #CookiesCreamBerlin with one of my favourites: figs ❤️
This breakfast bowl is with a base of almond yoghurt, topped with a fig, muesli, bits of avocado, blue berries, hemp seeds, drizzled with a bit of honey.

Had the best ever blue cheese, fresh figs and pine nuts open bread sandwich on a sour dough bread served with sweet potato crisps for the crunch @266thewineroomandbar. The sangrias went perfectly with it. Love the ambience, food and service at this place.
The Turkish Lira has plumetted 30% against the USD in recent times. So very sad. As the Better off say go on a Turkish or Greek holiday and help boost their economy. But if that's way off the mark and staying in town is more like it...at least buy some Turkish Figs!:) One of The Baker's favourite fruits...they remind her off the ones her mother would indulge her with on the blouse making & jewellery repair trips to Laxmi Road, Poona...red & luscious, just soft enough to eat fresh, simply washed.
Just like one could polish off half a kg of raw carrots returning home from college one could douse a quarter kg of these naturally ripened figs in one evening...perhaps a reflection like a deep love for spinach on sn underlying iron deficiency
Sans access to these one does buy dry figs every now and then. Rich in fibre, naturally sweetened...they are wonderful with oats or muesli for breakfast or then as standalone 4pm snacks when the sugar dips a bit.
Over the years been sad to notice folks drop fruits from their daily diets with rising costs and think that chocolates, icecreams, desserts are an alternative. Such a misplaced ideology.
Drop those artificial sugars, trans fats, refined & highly processed commercial desserts instead and save your health.
The best time to eat fruit remains pre-noon on an empty stomach or then at 4pm well post lunch and pre dinner
Look it’s not Vegemite, but it’s as close to a breakfast of champions as I’ll get in Italy. Let me explain. Fresh figs picked from the tree in the garden (I need to eat them all in T minus 5 days). Philadelphia (aka philly cheese). Weird but tasty cracker-like Sardinian bread (aka toast). So there you have it. I’m a happy little.... Vegemite?
I don’t remember the last time I bought figs in stores and I don’t have plans to ever buy them again. 😍 They’re extra delicious when grown at home and the fact that they’re full of fiber, calcium, and B vitamins is an extra bonus! 🌱
