This week 8️⃣ years ago, @MaijuSuotama became one of the first European women ever to compete for a major North American promotion as she took on eventual @UFC champion @MieshaTate in the semifinals of the Strikeforce Women's Flyweight tournament. Still going strong in 2018, Maiju's headlines #CareliaFight XIV on Sept.1!
RSD/CRPS & Chronic Pain Awareness: Pain is absolutely horrific to live with. All we want is a break and it doesn’t happen. However, there are ways in which WARRIORS can take back some control and look for the beauty through the storms.
Research in environmental psychology suggests that individuals have positive reactions to nature and natural environments.
Positive Effects of Nature:
1. Reduced stress,
2. Improved mood, and,
3. Improved cognitive performance!
Due to the demands of evolved societies, humans have the innate ability to become more positive when outside in nature. Nature was the first place humans learned how to thrive, but it’s easy to lose sight when you are feeling crummy, negative, and have a hard time finding positivity in a dark storm.
However, if you’re in a place of darkness, find something beautiful near you. You don’t have to be outside. You can look outside through your windows, open your windows for a natural breeze, enjoy the smell of the ocean, sit outside on your porch, smell the roses or other flowers, watch hummingbirds eat from the feeder, etc.
Ultimately, in order to change the negative energy, you must be willing to do a few things:
1. Change your negative thought(s) to positives,
2. Enjoy something nature related,
3. Listen to your body,
4. Clear your mind of negativity, and
5. Don’t be so hard on yourself!

Ask and you shall receive! This is what I look like with 600 cc expanders in. Swipe to see my before surgery and pre-expansion pics. As you can see my OG boobs were bigger than they are now. A lot of people I talk to think 600 cc expanders sound HUGE but they aren't on my body. I'm 5'8" tall. 🤯 I have the option for another fill at my pre-op but I think I'm happy at this size (the implant will be a little bigger). I didn't realize just how honking my boobs were before! It's kind of sweet wearing smaller shirts! ✔️ So this is where I have been at for a few weeks and I think this is approximately where I'll stay. 🦄 #emo#converse
Learning the best skill fathomable- BOXING!
Through boxing you discover your strength and stamina, become empowered and confident, but most importantly, you let go of your fears, insecurities and the issues that held you in the past and propel yourself to the new heights.
I first fell in love with boxing because it forced me to believe in myself so fiercely. It was either that or get the shit beat outta me & in my mind there was no other option. Not long after my first fight @werrett said something along the lines of “Imagine if you now channeled that self belief into all other areas of your life.” (occasionally he says smart things). Someone recently asked if I miss being in the ring, & I said I miss that feeling of believing in myself. And as I stare down the barrel of ‘no longer mid 30s’ (#quietlyfreakingthefuckout 😱) I realise that I haven’t really done that at all! This isn’t some kind of #wellnesswednesday#positivevibesonly#hashtaggrateful#hashtagblessed post, it’s more a #notetoself that I’m sharing to remember to fiercely believe in all that I’m capable of. And for anyone reading - go BELIEVE in yourself today, before you get punched in the face ✊🏼😎
Still putting work in on making my Kong’s stronger, cleaner, and consistent. I was getting closer to clearing this yesterday, however I started hooking my thumbs towards the end of my training and I’m not really sure why or how to make sure that doesn’t become a bad habit 🤷🏼♀️
I remember the first time I met you. It wasn’t like we had planned, but I knew I loved you more than life itself. Our road has taken a different path...different than what seems like everyone else in the world. I have become someone I never even knew existed. You have made me into a stronger, more loving person. You have shown me what life is truly all about. I wouldn’t change a thing, you are absolutely perfect in my eyes. It is an honor to fight this battle with you and together we will weather this storm. For this is only a season, and although it feels like a never ending hurricane...this too shall pass ❤️.
@lasheswithalove today you are my #WCW because you are fighting this Breast Cancer battle with beauty and grace. You are such a strong person and I know this journey has not been easy and that it isn’t over but watching you and listening to you remaining positive amazes me. You crushed CHEMO!!!! And I know you’re going to continue crushing it every step of the way!!! Last thing: you are so selfless! At an event to celebrate you, here you come with a bday gift for me..😘😘 Gotta love you!!!! #AalyiahMacCollection (knowing she’s my fave) #friends#iminthisfightwithyou#pink#cancer#fightlikeagirl#standuptocancer#women
I’m in the hoard there somewhere, but that’s my Good Boy Finn at the front! 😂 Shieldmaiden night was a blast. I put my halberd down for the night and used an axe and shield instead, and was surprised by how much I liked it! Guess axe-shaped weapons are my thing..
