We can’t get over how amazing these macrame wrapped jars came out! 💙 Thank you to @hitchandcord for teaching us how to make these in class earlier this week and to @lannimade for snapping this wonderful the photo! 🤓
First you gather all your supplies and tools and arrange them properly. Get yourself comfortable and clear your mind. Pick up the aluminum wand and begin. Crochet is a fiber art passed down through the female generations of my family. Rather similar in many ways to another Craft passed down through the female generations of my family.
Hereby the three little shawls that are off the loom. 🖤
It’s very difficult to photograph long, narrow shawls so I choose to show details instead. Ain’t they just too cute?!!
These are made for gifts and it’s 100% cotton, not dyed by me as I had some yarn laying around for many years now.
I must confess I’m completely hooked to weaving now.
So I am dyeing many, many meters of cotton and wool yarn. Next project is already forming in my head. And I will warp my loom probably tomorrow 🙌🏼
What are your plans for the weekend?
I found another artwork from when I work on pieces for interior decoration. In Peru precolombian textile aesthetics are used to decorate hotels, and so I did. Funny how now I know so much more about this subject, this so called quipu would’ve never fullfilled the standards of a traditional one. The only thing they have in common is their structure and construction based on knots. This one was sent to a very nice flat in NYC. #knots#thread#blastfromthepast#hoteldeco#quipu#textilart#contemporarytextiles#threadlanguage#fiberart
