The voyage to the End of the World, also known as Castle Blackspire. It was here that Martin Chatwin changed forever alongside his brother Rupert in the books. Originally it was accessible via the Northen Marsh where you plummet into a swamp and arrive there, where everything was inverted, opposite and black and white. In this Season 3 finale, Julia became a Goddess, rather than a Demigoddess like in the books, which means she'll be much stronger in the show. This whole key quest we've seen in Season 3 occurred in the 2nd book of the trilogy; The Magician King. Magic was being taken away differently there. What I noticed was how Quentin was maturing. I'm not sure if it had to do with the lifetime he spent in Fillory Past but it was becoming more and more evident. To save magic and his friends and the world -- Quentin was willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good. This was a guy who back in Season 1 was afraid to even lose his damn Fillory book. Now he wasn't scared of losing his life. Alice and Eliot plead with him, but Quentin reminds them of their own selfless acts. "The quest taught us that it's like that sometimes." I'm looking forward to seeing Quentin's continuing growth. In the end, I understood why Alice did what she did. At the end of the day, whether you were a fan of Alice or not plays a huge factor. If you never liked her of course that hate will multiply. Personally, I don't like what she did. But if you can see the dark side of magic -- how if under the wrong hands it can cause severe harm to the environment, how already wicked people will begin to kill, every day humanity is already on the brink of self-destruction and possessing something they don't understand could end everything, how people's lives could go back to normal without magic, people will no longer do desperate things to obtain it. And lastly if there's no magic, the world wouldn't have to worry about malevolent spirits such as Niffins, what she once was. #TheMagicians#TheMagiciansSeason3#QuentinColdwater#AliceQuinn#JuliaWicker#EliotWaugh#MargoHanson#PennyAdiyodi#KadyOrloffDiaz#JoshHoberman#DeanFogg#Fen#CastleBlackspire#TheMagiciansSeason3Finale#Magic#Magicians
Fab collection of short stories - Daisy Johnson tells weird, ethereal tales in clear and unfussy prose, and the effect is unsettling but very rewarding. It’s the kind of collection that is so fun to talk about, too - when people ask what you’re reading, you can be like, “Oh, yeah, this story about a girl who starved herself into an eel,” or “this thing about three women who eat men.” My favourites were Language and How to Fuck A Man You Don’t Know, but there wasn’t a weak link in the bunch. I even took photos of a couple of sentences or paragraphs which struck me, which is something I rarely do - but these made me smile because they were so apt at describing what we do as humans. Particularly as women, actually, I think. Really good read, and I raced through them happily - eagerly awaiting whatever she writes next! #books#booksofinstagram#instabook#bookreview#bibliophile#booktube#fiction#shortstories#daisyjohnson#fen
