Mixing mud. And by mud I mean termite poop. Well.. its actually kinda both. If you can imagine a termite mound - that is created by termites basically eating the dirt to burrow down and then excreting it out the back end. When mixed with water, it turns into a cement like substance and can be used to build structures. The group I was with came in to help finish this house... which basically meant stirring mud, slapping it onto the building, and smoothing it out. I'm going to be writing a post soon about my thoughts on voluntourism... it's been a year since this trip, and it's taken me that long to kinda sit in my feelings and opinions and I think I've finally come to some conclusions on this sometimes complicated topic.
Parque Orellana Pumaqchupan. I pass this park whenever I walk to the city centre. During my first days in Cusco, I used to take a little break here because I needed to get used to walk longer distances in the altitude without feeling a bit dizzy and out of breath.
If you think my outfit is festive, you should see my apartment... 👻 I love any reason to dress up and participate in activities not able to be enjoyed year round! I’m about to carve up this bad boy...should I go spooky or cutesy? 🎃
I am sure you all know this by now but I never once make it out to be that I’m living this fabulous life. Just like you, I have my ups and downs. I am thankful for it all . I know those who know me know this but for those who are new .
You all know my motto , you can find the light in every situation if you look hard.
In some posts I explain the beauty of gods nature to show the world that there is also beauty in despair & some posts I portray my feelings and what occurred to allow you to feel every feeling I felt.
Over all, I hope to make this platform one for you to enjoy & learn from but to also realize we are human and nothing is perfect! For those who have a platform like mine , we must take pics for content, for you , to inspire but also for us , for memories, for keeps sake. Pictures are memories we may never get to experience. That why I love pictures so much.
I do what I do on this platform as a creative outlet to hopefully inspire and help others but also to attain additional income to help loved ones even more.
Peace & Love,
How I walked into work every day last week. 😂 I’m already counting down the days til I’m on an airplane heading to a foreign place to live and never come back 🙂🚀
Anyone else feel me on this? 🙋🏻♀️✈️🏝
Portland, you treated me right ♥️🌹
»live up on the blog! I've got my full Portland recap up now👣 It's full of things to do, but more importantly, where to eat😋🍷🍣 Have you been to any of the spots on my list? Link in bio for the full read»
Really wishing I was either still asleep or here this morning, but I’m actually sitting in my bed in a wet towel trying to decide what to wear (and clearly that’s also not going well since I’m posting this). So glamorous on this Monday. Anyone else a towel sitter?

This is my “desert-princess-on-a-camel” look. 💁🏼♀️😂
No, but seriously.
The locals will tell you that you need a scarf if you’re going into the desert.
‼️They’re NOT joking.‼️
At first I thought it was just an easy ploy to sell tourists on some cheap scarves.
It wasn’t. 😂
Not only do scarves keep your hair from frying under the heat of the midday sun, but they keep you from horrid tans lines, AND sand-burn.💨
We’ll get to this later, but if you find yourself sleeping outside under the stars, you’re definitely gonna need to wrap your face in one of these, OR you WILL wake up with a gritty mouthful (and noseful, AND eyeful!) of orange sand.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you! 💁🏼♀️
New York City.
The city so nice they named it twice. They can name it as many times as they'd like, I'm not sure I can ever visit enough.
I'll be going there again in January. Or February.
It's up to my grandchild. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are sooo many small towns and villages outside #GranCanaria 's popular tourist destinations Las Palmas and Maspalomas. #Arucas , #Teror , #Agaete , #Tajeda , #Mogan ,... - have you been to any of them? What was your favorite?⛪
Often overlooked by tourists, the small mountain town of #Agüimes has become one of my favorites on the trip. It has a well-preserved old town, which has been a protected historic area for more than 30 years. I just loved strolling through the narrow lanes and seeing all those traditional Canarian buildings in all kinds of colors. They give the town a charming and somewhat timeless character.🏘️
Divinity and Faith.
"Khuda ke hawaale!" she uttered as we hugged each other bidding goodbyes.
There was a lot more commotion in the old city than I had anticipated. I simply stared out from the window of the bus and made mental note of the route. I was on my way to the most revered Hazratbal shrine.
Opposed to the tiered roofs and spires that adorn the mosques in rest of Kashmir, Hazratbal stands out with its silvery white spherical dome. Leaving behind the chaos of marketplace, I entered the shrine. The outer prayer hall was peaceful, surrounded by an air of silence with occasional mumbles of prayers.
She was sitting in the garden outside, along with her grandson. We exchanged smiles and she broke the ice "Kaisa laga Kashmir?" she asked. "Bahut khoobsurat" I replied. We spoke for another 15 minutes discussing her plans about her grandson and how difficult it seemed to raise children in lieu of unwarranted situations that often marred normalcy of their lives.
I gave her an assuring hug "Ek din sab theek ho jaayega. Inshaallah!" saying that, I took her leave "Khuda Haafiz!" . .
She smiled and uttered "Khuda ke hawaale!" .
