Look at this cool shot of me on the set of @bfforeverfilm, a scary movie @joshkorngut and I made earlier this year! 😱 It stars FIVE WOMEN! 😱😱 And NO MEN are seen or mentioned! 😱😱😱 If that sounds cool to you, we’d 💗 it if you could donate to and/or share our @indiegogo (link in my bio!) and help us fund post-production. "I've found throughout my career that women wanted to push you up rather than keep you down, and now I want to embrace that."—The Festival producer Claire Jones shared with us the value of a great role model, aiming high enough to be the boss on set, and how she went from city lawyer to producer of some of British cinema's most interesting indies.

Born In Flames (1983) Directed By Lizzie Borden
The words radical, political and revolutionary get thrown around pretty freely these days without much context or body within them, for me it’s a sign of how our system chews up and spits out ideas into watered down slop. This is why Lizzie Borden’s Born In Flames remains so important. Not only is it’s aesthetic radical; low-tech documentary style that makes you feel like you are seeing a vision of a radical future that still has complications to sort out but also it’s direct question of what does a socialist anti-sexist and anti-racist world look like? And how do these movements get shut down as well co-opted by our system? Many want socialism in the US they say now but do they really understand what that would entail for us to achieve? Born In Flames confronts these questions with all its complexity and gives us a radical vision. And once you see it - and once you see it “explosive” ending - you’ll understand why it’s not talked about...because it shows without radical politics and action Identity is just a tool that can be manipulated by the state. And we can never bargain with that.
Plus the music is rad as hell!

so excited another one of my babies is going out into the world! thanks for showcasing us @independentshortsawards!! I am ESPECIALLY proud of #UNHEARD because it went from conception to full adult in only one weekend (#wwfilmchallenge ) and I got to schedule ALL of that (imagine getting to give writers a deadline! it’s so much fun to control all of time! #timestone ), AND it was my first all women team, which made it one of the best I’ve ever worked with (legit, top 2) #ladypower#womeninfilm #💪🏼
