200 BOOKS FOR 200 YEARS We continue with our weekly appointment "200 books for 200 years" by proposing you a quote on the female condition. In the " Letter to Ludwig Kugelmann", dated 12 December 1868, Marx states "Everyone who knows anything of history also knows that great social revolutions are impossible without the feminine ferment. Social progress may be measured precisely by the social position of the fair sex". Follow us also on our facebook page. See you next week with another book! #centrostudiettoreluccini#CSEL#Padova#200libri200anni#karlmarx#marx#karlmarx200#marx200#marx200anni#marxismo#marxism#lotte#lottediclasse#proletariato#classstruggle#classstruggles#libertà#freedom#femminismo#questionefemminile#femalecondition#feminism
Many people argue that the idea of male headship in a marriage is a result of the Fall, and that we were freed from that in Christ. But Scripture simply doesn't support that idea at all.
10 reasons why:
7. The conflict.
Here's a question that I had getting into woman's issues: Why is everyone so hung up on women being able to fill one singular position in the Church?
Answer: The Fall.
God states straightforwardly that Eve's curse what the she would desire would be "for her husband". In the original language, it read "for your husband's position." Why is it that, although Scripture makes it abundantly clear that God sees women as equally valuable in His sight and opens up every single position in the Church for them, excepting only that of spiritual authority over men (primarily being the pastor), that that is the one position women want most? Because of the Curse. Plain and simple. It's a straightforward sinful inclination, and as Wayne Grudem points out "We are never to try to increase or perpetuate the results of the curse." Men have been the spiritual authorities since day 1, and encouraging the overthrow of that set-up is only enabling sin.
But, the next part of Eve's curse shows how men will have the desire to abuse said authority and rule over their wives instead of lovingly lead them. We haven't had the issues we've had in the past of male abuse because of male authority, but because of the Curse that proceeded after it.
Women ought to be encouraged to lead within their Biblical capacities and thank God for male headship, and men ought to be encouraged to lead their wives with self-sacrificial love and tenderness. "To the woman he said, "I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."" -Genesis 3:16
Lipoedema is almost exclusively a female condition( although there are a few cases seen in men). Affects an estimated 11% of the female population with an estimate of 17 million in the U.S. alone. Imagine how many millions of women have and may suffer from this condition worldwide!
