Midland MTB Challenge - My Thoughts.
**Warning, long post, read at own risk** The dust has settled, head cleared, and I've had time to reflect on last weekends race. This was the 2nd race I've entered so far and my first mountain bike/xc race. Going in, again I didn't know 100% what to expect, but my goals remained the same. 1) To keep my pace in check and 2) really work on my in race nutrition(water, carbs, sugar, sodium) etc. Stage one started out a bit rough for me, but on the 2nd lap I really came into my own, finishing stong. Stage 2, I felt strong and focused from the start, mind on fire in a sense. Final Results: Day 1 - 15th overall and 2nd in my class. Day 2: 9th overall and 3rd in my class. Essentially I placed smack in the middle of the pack. My goals are, of course, are to do better, get stronger and get faster, but for now, I'm just happy to be out there. #keeppedaling @epicracesncsc
Ok last one, this was just too much fun!
This video is SO much quieter than the inside of the car lol.
I wasn't allowed to pass anybody until the guy on the radio gave me the go ahead. #itsthepedalontheright
Having never driven an actual race car on an actual race track before, I was a bit nervous for sure. But once I rolled out onto that track I felt right at home. #mustgofaster
I’m almost 14 weeks post injury with my elbow and I honestly didn’t think I’d be unable to do the things I love for this long, but at the moment patience is key and I need to give it time! I don’t think there is anything more frustrating, when you think you are so close to that finish line and then you have it stripped away from you! Most days I know that I will eventually come back to crossfit and be able to lift a barbell and do workouts properly, but other days I wonder if that will ever happen...but whenever that day comes that I get my comeback, it is going to be so much stronger than my setback! 💪🏽💖🏋🏽♀️

I can’t speak highly enough of my time training with Nina! There aren’t words accurate enough to describe the changes made. More results on the way as I continue to apply the recommendations and advice received during our intensive. #functionalpatterns#fp#biomechanics#sprinting#gait#gains#greatful#gratitude#yukioneuclid#faster
RepostBy @fp.nina: "Dynamic postural gains with @fp_jeffharris from Aug 11th to Aug 15th. Both speeds shot at 10mph. Decreased kyphosis, improved trunk rotation and hip extension. Increased hip & knee flexion. Overall improved connectivity of sling mechanisms and movement efficiency. .
Training with Nina was a phenomenal experience. She is a technician with an eye for variables that most are unaware of when it comes to Human biomechanics. She helped me to discover areas and contexts where my body was very hyper flaccid and was great about troubleshooting when compression in my neck restricted movement. For the first time, I feel like I am floating through space when I run, and I can take a deep breath of air. My body is rebounding from gravity much better and is much more decompressed. I highly recommend finding an opportunity to train with Nina!

Check out our ROCKSTAR member Jean Martori Diorio!! Where do we start, she has a heart of gold!!! Been a member with us at iLoveKickboxing Peabody, for over 2 1/2 years! Jean is always working so hard and totally CRUSHES every class that she takes, and the classes aren't easy!!!!! Not only is she kicking butt on the mat but Jean is such a great person to have around the gym, so sweet and encouraging to everyone at the gym members AND instructors! We LOVE having Jean as part of our fit fam! Check out what she has to say below. "I was the person that joined every diet program, exercise program and gym, looking to lose weight and get healthy. The end result was always the same. I’d quit within a month. My good friend Nadine told me about kickboxing at ILKB, and while I was skeptical, I was also willing to give it a shot. I needed to do something to get healthy. My first day, I was so scared walking through the door. I was assured by the instructor that this was normal. The class started and I remember thinking “I can’t do what everyone else is doing!” By the time the warm-up ended and the bag rounds started, I was exhilarated! I was doing things I never thought I could do, physically. It’s been 2 years and I’ve never felt better. I’ve had to overcome some obstacles, which made me take time off from kickboxing. Thanks to the wonderful instructors, and all of the friends I’ve made here, I was able to get back into my workouts. The common phrase we all use whenever someone struggles is “Just walk through the door, and you’ll remember why you love it.” While I’ve only lost 25lbs, I’ve gained so much more. My self-confidence was so low, but the encouragement I got from ILKB has turned that around. It is a huge stress reliever. If I miss a week, I can feel my mental health suffering. There is nothing like walking into ILKB and being greeted by the best crew. It truly is a family and I’m so thankful I found it." Jean we are so glad you found us and made us your fitness family!!! You are Awesome!!! We are So lucky to have you here!!!! See you on the mat soon at @ilovekickboxing_peabody_ma !!
