Do you have someone that is impossible to shop for? Well how about a box of bees? Well not a box of bees, but adopt a hive! By adopting a hive, you help the bee population, get a hive with your name on it, updates and gifts from the farm, and of course, honey! We have a little saved from 2018 for anyone who adopts this holiday season, meaning you’ll have honey right away! Interested in your own box of bees? Www.PaulFamilyFarms.com

Dec 18 // A Note She Wrote On Just Chamomile // Celebrating 24 Teas of Christmas // Do you remember the summer, the December, when we took baskets of Afternoon Tea cake and sweet Barley water down to the shed and the men came in smelling of freshly cut hay, just like Chamomile. And the clunk, clunk, clunk of the kitchen knife slicing, knocking the bottom of the tin and the suction of warm cake tugged away from parchment paper and the days work not yet complete, for man or for woman, in the last shooting heat of the afternoon sun. There’s nothing as glorious as that first bite of sugar, melted butter, cinnamon crunch, so deep your teeth leave marks and like it or not, your lips are frosted. And someone says pucker up give us a kiss then everyone is quiet as they stand in a rough round, a rough circle of rough working diamonds. And someone kicks the dust with R.M’s and someone else wipes a buttery hand across a moleskin leg and someone says, I’ll do the mugs, no rest for the wicked. And they turn back to the work that is yet to be completed and there’s a raucous sneeze, because dust whipped up by the northerly is nearly as thick as cinnamon. And now they turn back to their work, but first there’s a lingering glance as if the work will get done by itself, but then someone says, back to it, the work won’t get down by itself. A collectively look at the horizon and then, harvest begins once more.

She looks so red when the sun hits her just right... can't believe she is going to be 15 next year... she is one of the 'original 4' that came to be here.
My Princess Pattie was a two year old with crooked front legs and a fear of everything. A huge scar across her side from being run through a fence by a cougar. A bit of a twisted back but a heart that is huge .. She is a lifer because she has her quirks that would put her in tragic circumstances for sure...she is the sweetest and gentlest horse though...will let me sit and lean back on her front legs and hang or nap 😊
